I am thinking of gifting instax wide evo premium for my girlfriend on her birthday. She likes capturing moments, she is so into Pinterest stuff. I think this would be a perfect gift, I don’t know much about instax cameras. I want to know what all to keep in mind before purchasing and what accessories or any recommendations are welcome.
Thank you!

I need some help here :(
I shoot Instax Wide 300 as part of my work. My camera is giving up on me (the battery cover keeps falling, sometimes it just doesnt want to turn on, the coils for batteries are all messed up) and I don't know how to replace it.
I need it to have the ability to turn on forced flash or disable flash. I usually shoot in studio settings, so I use the forced flash to make it sync with my actual big strobes in the studio. The Instax 400 as far as I know does not let me turn on or off the flash, so I can't replace with that.
I had the Lomography Lomo'Instant Wide but I didn't really vibe with it, the photos were always turning out overexposed, and way too contrasty compared to the Instax 300, so I returned it.
Any suggestions? I'm open to anything, it can be some advanced configuration with a modified back (as long as it's all parts I can buy lol I cant do anything myself or 3D print), it can be eBay cameras, I just need a replacement because it's a major part of my job. The prices of the 500aF on eBay are painful and i really didn't want to spend over $500.
Thank you so much in advance!

Anyone have any tips for getting great focus on the instax Mini 99? I feel like it's been kind of hit or miss for me. Do I want to be right in the middle of the focus zones (e.g. standard zone is .6m-3m, so do I want to be around 2m from subject)? Or I do I want to be closer to the minimum or maximum distances? Or any other things to think about?
I took this one with the Landscape focus mode (3m and beyond), and I was definitely more than 3m from the Liquor sign, but it looks pretty blurry to me.

I often return to Nanchang Street in Wuxi, China, to photograph the canal under different weather and lighting conditions.
These were taken with a Polaroid 195 bellows camera converted to Instax Wide.
During one snowy night, I experimented with combining flash and long exposure. Most of the frames failed before I finally got one I liked—the flash recorded the nearby snowflakes, while the long exposure built up the buildings, water, and reflections.
My current method for city lights is to meter at ISO 50, stop down to f/16 or smaller, and expose for around 8–15 minutes. This is based on my own testing with Instax Wide, and blue hour is still the most reliable time to start.

After I take a photo, the motors whir for a second and then shut off, I can get the photo to print but only after I take the batteries out for a second and then put them pack in

Three frames taken from the same spot in Tibet, China.
I used a Polaroid 195 bellows camera converted to shoot Instax Wide film. The cold blue tones came out much stronger than I expected, especially against the snow and the lake.
The red SUV frame is my favorite of the three.

Every time I turn it on, the camera lens would do two full extensions and finish in the extended positions.
when I turn the power knob again, it does another 2 extensions and end up in the extended position
Then when i twist the power knob again it would end up either in the fully retracted or halfway retracted position. Anyone know why?

I cut up a picture I printed with my instax film and then read it is caustic? How dangerous actually is this? I have touched ALL OVER this picture while cutting it.

Have been using the Mini 8 Ive had for the last 12ish years a ton recently, but wanting to upgrade to something that gives me a bit more creative control. I’ve been considering the Mini EVO or the Mini 99, but I’m also finding myself really drawn to the Lomography Lomo’Instant Automat.
I am using a film camera in part to move away from digital, so the EVO is more of a dark horse, but the filters on the 99 feel gimmicky to me (I’d probably play with them anyway, haha). I definitely prefer the more adult form factors to what I’ve got now. The Lomo seems like it has the features I’m looking for and the price is right, but I’d love to hear peoples’ experiences and pros/cons on all three devices.
I have a lot of experience with photography, but instant has become a more serious hobby lately, and I want to invest a little to level up.
