im having trouble with the import paperwork, I just bought a car from canada but I live in the US, The car is an Acura TLX sh- AWD and was built in California, vin starts with a 1 and it has a sticker that says it passes US emission rules. A problem is the car only meets Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The car does have direct tpms. The easiest way to import this car is through getting a compliance letter, though honda will not give one as they only give it to Canadian residents moving to the US. Im trying to see if theres somehow a workaround to this or if I need to get a registered importer.
