Progressive claims process - anyone had a recent total loss?
Dealing with a total loss for the first time and it's a lot more process than I assumed it would be. Other driver's fault, their insurer accepted liability, all fine - but somehow I'm still tangled up with my own Progressive claims department for the gap side of things.
The ACV they came back with is the thing that's driving me nuts. I've found like 8 or 9 comparable listings in my area - same make, model, trim, similar mileage - and they're all sitting noticeably higher than what Progressive quoted. Showed this to my adjuster and she said the valuation is done by a third party and there's a "dispute process" but hasn't actually sent me anything to kick that off. That was 10 days ago. I've called twice since.
Anyone been through this and actually gotten the number moved? Or is the formal dispute thing basically theater and you're better off just arguing directly with the adjuster?
