I’m building GIFBarn, a GIF picker for Mac and iPhone/iPad.

I originally made it because I wanted a faster way to grab GIFs for Slack without opening a browser every time. I didn’t like the Slack extensions that was available at the time.

I started it as an electron app just for Mac. Then this year I decided to make it native and take the challenge of getting it on the App Store.

It lives in the Mac menu bar or as an app on iPhone and iPad, and you can search, copy, drag, share, save favorites, and keep track of recent GIFs.

feedback from the ecranify guy so im biased obviously. for a meal journal app your first screenshot needs to showcase the core value proposition instantly in bold text. make sure text contrast is high because most people glance at screenshots on small phone screens in dark mode. keep background elements subtle so the actual app interface pops. i built ecranify.com to quickly iterate on 3d device mockups and text hierarchy if u want to test a few visual layouts fast

This app was originally made to help me deal with some issues with short-term memory and i knew there were others who were experiencing the same issues. The app was built on being intentional about tasks and such, and it seems users have appreciated this v3.0 release update. Another update is in progress but I’d love to hear your feedback.

The goal was just to build a simple photo cleanup app that does the job simply and well. Uses AI - but all on-device, offline, no servers - and no tinder-style swiping, no subscription, no gimmicks or cute themes, it just suggests the best photos to keep from groups of similar photos (the AI recognizes similar scenes even if they're not near identical) and you always review before you confirm you want to delete anything.
