I’m the developer of App Privacy Report Analyzer. I shared it here about a month ago, and several people asked for better domain grouping, clearer explanations, and a way to distinguish ordinary activity from behavior that may deserve a closer look.

A - Answer: What problem does it solve?

Apple’s App Privacy Report records when apps access sensitive data and which network domains they contact, but its exported report is difficult to inspect in detail.

App Privacy Report Analyzer imports that export and turns it into searchable, sensor-by-sensor, domain-by-domain, app-by-app and time-based views. Everything is processed locally on your device. Reports are not uploaded, and the app does not collect or track your activity.

B - Better: How is it different?

Apple’s built-in view is useful for a quick overview. This app is intended for people who want to investigate the exported report more deeply:

• See which apps contacted a particular domain or IP address
• Group related subdomains instead of reviewing them one by one
• Separate connections initiated by an app from those caused by a user action
• Review activity by app or by a specific time window
• Surface patterns that may be worth investigating without suggesting that every network request is suspicious

A. What it does

Indie dev here, I got obsessed with why every "riso filter" looks wrong, and it's always the same reason: they tint a photo. A real risograph never tints. It prints one spot ink at a time, through a screen, onto paper.

So Pressed does that instead. It separates your photo into spot inks (routed by hue, not just brightness), screens each ink as its own halftone at its own angle, overprints them in linear light so two inks actually mix into a believable third color, and lets the paper stock show through. Then the imperfections that make a print read as a print: registration drift, ink bleed, dot gain, and a density ceiling so solids keep some life. Everything runs on-device, no account, photos never leave the phone.

B. Why it's different from the other print apps

Most "risograph / halftone" apps lay a flat duotone or a dot texture over your photo. Pressed builds the print the way a press does, one ink at a time, so if you zoom in the halftone dots are really there at the right angle, and a two-ink press gives you that impossible riso violet you can't fake by tinting. And for anyone who actually prints: Plus exports per-ink separations as a PDF with registration marks, so a phone photo can go to a real Risograph or screen press.

If I count from the day the idea first sparked, it’s been nearly a year. In terms of actual development time, we spent 8 full months on it.

AI can do incredible things, but it misses the single most vital context for a language learner: your present, real-world reality. It doesn’t know why you’re exhausted today, what delicious food you had for lunch, the street you just walked down, or who you ran into.

Yet human language never exists in a vacuum. The genuine urge to speak always springs from your actual life—the cup of coffee in your hand, a quiet local shop you stumbled into, the workout you just finished, or a fleeting emotion passing through your mind.

Most speaking apps today force you into rigid, pre-scripted textbook scenarios: ordering coffee at Starbucks, checking in at an airport, or roleplaying a business meeting. They’re useful, but it’s always someone else's life. When I used those apps, I’d constantly freeze up—not because I lacked vocabulary, but because deep down, I felt zero connection to those generic topics.

We realized AI shouldn't fabricate a fake life for you to practice. It should understand your real life and help you express it.

Behind the 8 months: What we actually built (and scrapped)

To get AI to understand people’s real worlds, we did a lot of painstaking, un-glamorous work.

We fully designed UI and interaction flows for several major features—some even made it into early development—only to scrap them entirely. Last December, we had a spec ready for a feature that auto-generated fictional stories based on your day. But right before engineering started, I couldn't convince myself it was right. It made the AI look clever, but it didn't actually reduce the user's anxiety about opening their mouth to speak.

So out of nowhere, I told the engineer, "Let’s drop this. We’re building Speak."

Here is what we spent those months building instead:

• Magic Album: With explicit user permission, CapWords can analyze photos you take each day and instantly turn them into real conversation context.
• Long-Term Memory System: A real friend doesn't have short-term amnesia. For AI to be a worthy companion, it has to remember who you are, the people and objects around you, and your recurring life setups. We spent a massive chunk of time refining this memory distillation system so past conversations flow naturally into the next one.
• Persona Reconstruction: We threw out mechanical, template answers. Choosing a practice partner should feel like choosing a friend—some days you need gentle encouragement; other days you want a fast-paced, direct challenge. Oftentimes, a companion who truly gets you matters far more than a "perfect" answer.

Making the technology fade away

We spent 8 months because we want the technology to fade into the background completely. It should feel like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat—you don't query the trick, you just enjoy the pure sense of wonder.

Language learning shouldn't revolve around rigid grammar rules or sterile vocabulary lists; it should revolve around your actual life. A new language shouldn't feel like a foreign world you're trying to break into—it should grow naturally out of the world you already live in.

I made it for my own use and this did not gain traction like my other app so I stopped development. Thought it would be worth it to someone else in the same situation.

Please note that because this is on device, it will have lower accuracy than cloud models, work with reasonable resolution (don't expect 4K) and the face should be prominent enough to extract enough details but like I said, personal need.

Indie dev here (I built this). Quick recap: I lost about 60 pounds last year mostly by walking, got tired of fitness apps that turned it into a pressure machine, and built Just Walk -- tap Start Walk, walk, log it, watch your mosaic fill in.

I posted here 2 months ago and got more useful feedback in one thread than I expected in a year. This update is basically that thread, shipped:

• Kinder streaks. u/Thedividendprince1 pointed out that streaks can recreate the exact guilt I was trying to avoid, and suggested something like "walked 4 of the last 7 days" instead. That's in now -- when your streak breaks but you've still been showing up, the app tells you the kinder truth instead of showing you a zero.
• Optional walk notes. Same comment suggested notes like "felt better after this walk." One tap after a walk, no pressure to use it.
• All 10 languages actually show up now. u/Jumpy-Sky2196 and u/Astrikal both caught that my App Store listing said English-only despite the app being translated into 10 languages. Turned out to be a config issue on my end that took embarrassingly long to track down. Fixed.
• Rate & feedback links in Settings, because I made asking for feedback harder than it needed to be.

B -- Better

Same position as before: most walking apps are trying to become full fitness platforms. Just Walk stays small on purpose. No social feed, no calorie tracking, no leaderboards, no AI coach, no notifications nagging you back in.

Versus Apple Health: Health tracks your activity, Just Walk helps you keep the habit. It's not trying to be a better pedometer.

Versus streak-based habit apps: this is the one that doesn't punish you for missing a day. That was the whole point, and this update makes it more true than it was at launch.

I built TypeFlow ES for a small but annoying iPhone problem: when I want to reply in Spanish, I often start with an English thought, switch to a translator app, copy the result, paste it back into WhatsApp, Messages, Instagram, or email, then edit it because it sounds too polished or too literal.

TypeFlow ES puts that translation step inside the iOS keyboard, so you can turn an English thought into a Spanish reply without leaving the conversation.

I built Murmur - Privacy First, Voice Based Expense Tracker because I was tired of failing at expense tracking.

Not because the apps were bad, but because they all expected me to manually log every expense. I'd start the month motivated, track everything for a few days, then slowly stop using the app altogether.

I'm actively improving the app and would love feedback from people who track their spending or have tried and failed to do it consistently.

I kept forgetting when I last gave my dog her flea medicine. Or when I last changed the AC filter.

I tried standard habit trackers, but they are built for daily routines. If you don't do a chore every 24 hours, they break your streak. It just creates unnecessary guilt for things that only need to happen every few weeks or months.

I just wanted a simple system to tell me exactly how many days it had been since I last did something.

So I built SinceWhen. It is a days-since tracker designed specifically for the messy, irregular routines of actual life.

Here is how I set it up to be completely frictionless:

• I built deep Apple Shortcuts and Siri integration. When my hands are full of dog shampoo, I just say "Hey Siri, log the dog meds" and it records the exact time in the background.
• I created a specific shortcut action that checks if a task is actually overdue before logging it. If it is not, Siri just tells me when it is next expected.
• The app learns my natural rhythm from my history instead of forcing rigid calendar schedules.
• I added Family Sharing to the subscription tiers so a whole household can share one Pro license to track who last changed the sheets, while keeping everyone's personal iCloud data completely separate.

I’ve been working on MoneyMap since August 2024. This is actually the second version of the app. About a year into development, I scrapped the original codebase and rebuilt it from the ground up because I wasn’t happy with how it handled users’ financial data.

A – What problem does it solve?

Most finance apps store your financial data on their own servers after connecting to your bank. I wanted to take a different approach. With MoneyMap, your financial data lives on your device by default. If you choose to sync across devices or share a budget with a partner or family member, your data is end-to-end encrypted before it ever leaves your device.

I also wanted to build a budgeting app that works around your paychecks instead of forcing everything into monthly budgets.

B – Why is it better?

I think it comes down to four things.

1. Privacy-first

Your financial data stays on your device by default instead of being stored on my servers. Syncing and household sharing are optional and protected with end-to-end encryption.

2. Paycheck-based budgeting

Budget around when you actually get paid instead of trying to fit everything into a monthly budget.

3. Automatic setup

• Connect accounts with Plaid.
• Stripe Financial Connections acts as a fallback for institutions Plaid doesn’t support.
• Automatic recurring bill detection to reduce manual setup.

4. Household friendly

One subscription covers your entire household, so you don’t need to pay for multiple accounts if you manage your finances together.

I wanted MoneyMap to be affordable. I know there are real costs involved with bank connections, infrastructure, and hosting, but I also think budgeting software should be accessible.

When is the last time you read the news? Im talking about actually opening up a legacy news app like CNN or Fox and scrolling the feed. My guess is never, or at least not that you can remember.

Most of us, especially Gen Z, hate the media. We know its full of slop and bias, but more than that we hate how overwhelming it all is. Hundreds, if not thousands, of stories a day. Its just too much.

Instead of actual news apps, you probably get your news from social media, friends, or groupchats. The problem is you still end up missing stories and falling behind on whats happening.

We have more technology and access to information than ever before, yet somehow feel more disconnected from the world we live in.

The news was supposed to help connect us with the world. Now it just overwhelms us. It feels like you either commit to 12hr screen-time days, or you miss 90% of whats going on.

Thats why I made Nowhere. A news app you don’t have to open to stay informed.

The widget lives on your lock screen or your home screen and shows you what’s happening right now.

It uses consensus as its only filter. Stories only appear when two or more major news sources are reporting on the same thing. That cuts an impossible number of stories down to around 50 a day. Every story lives for 24 hours before rolling into the archive, so the feed is always today’s news. Nothing stale.

You can glance at it every time you open your phone or swipe between apps.

A. The news is impossible to keep up with. Between the promotional content, the stale posts, and the one-off stories, you really have to put in some work to find the important stories. Even if an app has a filter for “top stories” it takes 5 extra clicks just to get there. We want things now, right in front of us, without the extra work. Nowhere News is an app you don’t have to open, built with the widget as the central focus. Somewhere between 40-80 stories a day, with stories getting archived on a rolling basis after their 24hrs are up.

B. RSS feeds exist, apps that let you have ultra-customized news feeds exist, apps that do “the news” incredibly well exist. Nowhere News isn’t meant to replace any of those. It’s meant to be a macro view, ultra lightweight way to keep up with the world. No need to make an account, no need to pick topics, no algorithm deciding what you might like. Everyone sees the same stories.

C. Free. Zero ads. No accounts. No data collection. I made this app for myself first, so I didn’t want any of that. I figured anyone who might use the app wouldn’t want it either. No paid tiers, no freemium.
