Admin Rules update - insubstantive or low-effort comments

We've updated subreddit rules on unsubstantive/low effort comments to clarify things. A habit has emerged among (generally newer) users to respond to someone's post requesting chart help with comments like 'Yes you will.', 'No, it won't happen. Look at the Moon.' or commenting with opinions unrelated to the chart which either moralise, seek to lecture or otherwise prove unhelpful.

On that basis, comments like these will be removed going forward, as they do not help anyone learn more, and are often unhelpful to people who have posted charts.

If you wish to comment on someone's post to provide an interpretation, please provide the bare minimum - an explanation of what you saw in the chart that led you to your conclusion.

Admin Removal of AI-derived content

The subreddit has suffered a (thankfully small) influx of AI-generated content recently. and as such we will be enacting stricter protocols to remove this. AI has no place in astrology, as is demonstrated by its failures. Please note this was previously covered under the context and interpretation rule, and the new rule serves to clarify and simplify.

Going forward, the following actions will take place:

  1. If a post or comment is suspected of being AI, it will be removed by default.
  2. Repeated posts or comments which appear to be AI-based will count towards the subreddit's rule-breaking policy, and may result in suspensions or bans.

We are aware that some people use AI to translate from their native language, and unfortunately these posts will also be removed. This is unavoidable, so it is better for users to write as well as they are able in their own words - the subreddit is generally very open-minded to writers with different first languages.

If you think a post or comment has been removed unfairly under this action, you are welcome to contact us via modmail. However, it is unlikely we will be able to change our decision without some evidence the content is not AI generated.

Chart help request Will anything else happen between us?

Post image
1 Upvotes

It might be too late for anything to happen, but still I'm trying to cast a chart.

I think this was a mutual crush, I keep thinking about him but I have no idea what's on his mind about me.

I'm Jupiter, Moon and Venus.

Moon and Venus are in a bad place, I'm a bit depressed and not feeling confident or content with myself.

I like him:

- Venus is in Virgo, likes Mercury but maybe I feel bad because he retreated (Rx) although he likes Jupiter and Moon.

- Jupiter in Leo, strong desire for him, also combust the Sun. Definitely felt better before about this, when Jupiter was exalted in Cancer. Now it's like I'm just distant from him but still affected.

- He's Mercury Rx and Sun in Cancer. Likes both Jupiter and Moon. He started retreating exactly after Mercury went cazimi. So I would say the sun "took over" and he acted out bc of his ego, which is how I interpreted the whole thing.

But both planets like me, so I do think I was right about the crush.

The moon will sextile Venus and then trine Mercury, which definitely looks like something could happen, and Mercury will turn direct and sun will enter Leo, he'll be in his dignity and I guess I'll be totally swayed by him as Jupiter, being combust and him dignified šŸ˜…

What do you guys think?

Chart help request Will I get news about the book (I was offered to write)?

Hi! I run a fanclub about an artist and I was offered to collaborate on a book about the artist by a very famous publishing house of my country. As I had already imagined, during the call we had, the editor told me it wasn't sure whether I'd be the one writing it or if I'd just collaborate on it. I've sent them a pitch of how I would write a chapter potentially and I got an email back saying that they're considering every option and she'll let me know when they've come to a decision. It's been three weeks and I still haven't heard from them though their interest and compliments seemed serious. I think during the call I was able to show them I'm not just a "fanatic", but a person who has a grasp on cultural references in the music of the artist...the conversation we had was really nice.

The other night I casted a chart with the question "Will I get news about the book?". I'm a complete beginner in horary, but I'm feeling kinda anxious to know the answer. I'm sorry for the mistakes in advance. Here's my interpretation:

I'm represented by Venus in Virgo, which rules Taurus ascendant. The publishing house is the 10H (or 9H?). The book and the news are 3H and Mercury. I'd also look at 7H for contracts.

Venus in Virgo in 5H makes me think I'll be somewhat central in the project, since the 5H is the house of creativity, they'll probably need me to collect all the details (Virgo) about the artist. However... since the 7H is ruled by Mars and Mars squares Venus from the 2H it makes me think I won't be paid as much as I am wishing, or that I'll need to fight to be well credited?

Mercury is conjunct IC, it is also retrograde and square Saturn (governor of the 9H-10H, so the publishing house), which is probably why the news is being delayed. I feel as if they haven't made any decision yet and they're still talking about it?
And maybe I'll probably know more once Mercury goes back to the same degrees but direct? Also, Saturn (governor of 9 and 10H) and Mars (governor of 7H) are in good aspect, so this agreement is actually happening though the delay?

I'm sorry if this is a messy reading. Thank you in advance for your help!

Chart help request Should I wait for my lease to end before moving?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I inherited an apartment; however, the lease for the apartment where I’m currently living will only end on October 11, and if I moved out now, I would have to pay a penalty fee.

The issue is that I’m starting to feel a bit stressed with the place where I’m living. On my way home, I was talking to the Universe and saying that I’ve been feeling somewhat trapped, and as soon as I got home, my neighbor mentioned a leak. So now, at the end of the month, I’ll probably have to hire a handyman to fix an apartment that isn’t even mine.

So I started thinking about trying to get a credit card with a good limit so I could cover the penalty for leaving early (next month), as well as the small repairs needed to return the apartment. Then I would move into my own apartment, and since I would stop paying rent almost immediately, I could quickly pay off any debt.

Since this is a matter of moving from one place to another, I’ll consider L1 and L7.

My current position is Jupiter in Leo, and soon the Sun will make a conjunction with it. The place I intend to move to is represented by Mercury in Cancer, retrograde. The retrograde seems to speak about the things I would need to review before moving: bureaucracy and the possibility that many things could go wrong. However, in three days Mercury will go direct again.

The other apartment (the one I intend to live in) seems to like me quite a lot, since Cancer is ruled by the Moon and the Moon is my co-significator, so the experience of living in the other apartment would be better than the one I’m currently in.

In that sense, the answer would be ā€œnoā€ — I don’t need to wait for the lease to end. However, the chart suggests difficulties.

Another thing is that Jupiter and Mercury are separated by 12 units of time. That could represent how long it will take for me to actually complete the move. Twelve weeks is exactly three months, which is the amount of time left before the lease ends. I don’t think I could complete the entire process of getting a credit card, fixing the apartment, and moving in just 12 days.

So it seems to me that the chart is telling me that, although I may try, I won’t be able to make it happen immediately, and that the move will probably occur within those three months.

Chart help request [Horary] Will I be able to get my aligner treatment done?

Post image
1 Upvotes

The Context: I am 27 and want to fix my slightly crooked teeth. Traditional braces aren't an option because I have a cap on one of my teeth. I went to the dentist and got an estimated quote, but it's about 50% higher than my budget. Once they send over the exact, final price, I'll make my decision.

My Interpratation:

I (self) am represented by the Ascendant ruler, Saturn, which rules the bones and the teeth. Saturn is in Aries and is debilitated. Saturn also rules my 2nd house of money, showing a tight budget.

I'm seeing the treatment as to be represented by Mercury, which is Retrograde in Leo in the 8th house. In horary, a retrograde planet in the house of fees represents pending/revised information. The price of the treatment is represented by the Sun, and is very strong in the 7th house.

Mercury Rx (the treatment/quote) is moving backward to form a harmonious trine to Saturn (teeth). Because the planet of the treatment is retrograding back to meet the self, the revised/exact quote seems positive for me. However, the Moon, applying to square the Sun. This means that when the final exact price comes, it might still sting the budget a bit.

It now depends, which is a stronger force, Moon square Sun, leading to a no for the treatment, or the Mercury-Saturn trine, leading to a yes.

The trine between Mercury and Saturn perfects in about 2 degrees, which may mean a final decision in 2 units of time (2 days/weeks, my dentist also said the results of the initial scan will be ready in 3-4 days max)

The Verdict: Will it happen?
Seems unlikely, Moon and Sun both being quick planets, and Sun (price) being the main issue.

Chart help request Will I meet the next girl I'll go on a date with through the internet?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I downloaded a dating app to see if I can meet someone nice. The experience has been a bit hostile (just a bit of humor).

Anyway, I'd like to know whether the next girl I'll go on a date with will be someone I meet through the internet.

I'm Mars (L1), and the chart shows that I'm investing my energy precisely in these small centers of communication—which could even symbolize the internet. Since Mars is in Gemini, there's also some dispersion and a bit of inconsistency.

However, the person I'm looking for, represented by Venus (L7), is in the 6th house. Because of that, I think the chart is answering "no."

With Venus in the 6th house, it seems to suggest that the girl I'll eventually meet (and go on a date with) will be someone I meet in a work environment, or perhaps someone I come across in my everyday routine. (I'm not sure this last interpretation is valid, since that wasn't the actual question. Still, it seems like some kind of indication.)

One thing I found interesting is that we're both in Mercury's domicile (Gemini and Virgo). I'm not sure whether that adds anything to the interpretation.

Method/Technique Conceptual question: do we have the ability to change our fates after the horary is cast?

Wondering how everyone here feels about determinism/free will. I know William Lily really believed that the horary chart cast is generally what God determines. John Frawley believed that it's more like a train on a track, if you stay on your track you'll keep on to the same destination but if you change your track you can end up somewhere else, as in you can choose NOT to enter the toxic relationship or NOT to accept the prospective job that is forecasted to stress you out.

I ask this as a person who just cast: Will I like my next job? The chart reads pretty clearly that I will like it at first, but it will ultimately deplete me and it won't be a great fit. I'm wondering, after casting a chart like this, do I have the ability to avoid this fate? The chart suggests that I rush into the job out of scarcity mindset, so what if I don't rush into anything? What if I try to stop feeling so insecure about finances? etc.

Wondering what everyone thinks and/or if anyone has any experience with this kind of thing...

i.e. casting a chart for: will this person be my next partner? seeing a result that indicates they will be a future partner but a bad one/bad match, and then as a result you chose not to pursue that person/avoided having them as a partner. Does that make sense?

Trying to see if anyone believes we can change our fates etc.

Thanks!

Chart help request Will my coworkers gossip about me?

Post image
7 Upvotes

For context, today was my WFH (Work From Home) day and I briefly went to a market near my house during working hours. I was dressed in sportswear because I had exercised earlier before the start of the day, and I unexpectedly ran into two coworkers/acquaintances who were there for work.

Another coworker even asked me if I was on leave, so afterward I started wondering how the whole situation looked from their perspective 😭. I’m basically worried that the two girls might think I wasn’t actually working and gossip about it. I am also very well known in my company so !

My interpretation
I’m Venus in Virgo in the 11th, in fall, which describes how uncomfortable and self-conscious I currently feel about the situation. I took the girls as the 7th house, so they’re Mars in Gemini in my 8th/their turned 2nd.

Mars is peregrine, and the receptions between Venus and Mars seem neutral, which makes me wonder if they’re actually pretty neutral about me despite my worries.

Venus is applying to square Mars, which could describe the awkward encounter/tension between us. What interests me more is that my 10th house of career and reputation is ruled by the Moon, which is in the 10th, and Mars applies to sextile the Moon.

Could this show them talking about the situation in relation to my professional reputation? Mars being in Gemini also makes me wonder about gossip or them questioning me about it later.

At the same time, I don’t really see strong reception showing actual animosity or a desire to harm me, so my interpretation is that they might talk about it but ultimately be fairly neutral and that I’m probably much more worried about my reputation than they are.
What do you guys think? Do you see gossip here, and what do you think they actually thought about the situation?

Chart help request where can i find my vaccine records? (lost item)

Post image
3 Upvotes

context: i am rlly trying to find my original vaccine records but i am unsure if it is at my current place or my ex home where i used to reside. the last i remember i had them where i kept my stuff when i lived with my ex but i dont recall if i gave them back to my mom for safe keeping (in which case they should b where i currently reside) like i do with most important documents. i dont think they’re at my ex even if i didnt give them to my mom cuz i cant see myself storing them with his stuff but idk😭 like i said i dont recall if i gave them back to my mom or not anyways. i need them becuz working in healthcare / going to school they always ask for stuff like that. i thankfully have ideas of obtaining copies like calling my previous doctor / asking my current workplace for a copy of the copy they have & i have a picture of them too but as i stated i rlly want to find them, i dont like losing stuff like that. :( also i dont wanna have to reach out to ask if he can look for themšŸ˜šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø my mom & i spent quite a while looking for them in the possible areas we keep important documents :/

interpretation:
querent (me): rising in virgo ruler is mercury (10h cancer indicating career in healthcare & emotional which yes i am obviously really emotionally tied to finding this item & it does tie into my career prospects in healthcare becuz i am actively looking for it due to needing it for schooling & the item im looking for is health related also does cancer embody family so could it point to being with me)

moon gemini 9h similarly demonstrates my curiosity for finding this item need for it due to pursuing higher education but i’m confused could it also mean i need to communicate/ travel to find my item hence it’s not at my house & at my ex’s? or does it mean gemini being the ruler of mercury aka me it’s with me?

2h in libra ruler is venus
venus in virgo is in fall in the 12h associated with the subconscious mind, isolation, endings, and the unseen realms so maybe hard to find & pointing to the ending but does it mean it’s in my possession since venus is ruled by virgo aka my rising

moon square venus: meaning i will find it with trouble?

please any help would be greatly appreciated :(

Chart help request Is my self improvement journey over?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have been working on myself through meditation, affirmations, therapy, and listening to various self-improvement videos. I feel like I’m in a good place but don’t want to fall back on my old habits so I asked if my self-improvement journey is over.

I take Mars as my significator with Scorpio rising. Mars is in Gemini in the 7th, joined by the Moon, which appears to be applying to Mars. I read that as a process that is still unfolding rather than one that has reached completion. There doesn’t seem to be a clear testimony of closure (such as perfection or a decisive ending). My inclination is that the most difficult phase is behind me, but the work itself isn’t finished. I’ve moved into a new stage of growth rather than completed it. I’m interested to hear whether others agree or see stronger testimonies for completion.

Chart help request Where is the will for the apartment?

Post image
3 Upvotes

A relative of mine passed away and left a will stating that her apartment belongs to me. Unfortunately, neither I, my father, nor my sister can find the document. We believe it may have been accidentally thrown away.

Before going to the Public Defender's Office to request a certified copy, I'd like to know whether the document might still be somewhere in the house or if it was actually discarded.

From my perspective, the document could be signified either by Mercury or by the 3rd house. If I use the 3rd house, Venus in Virgo falls in the 6th house. I have a slight impression that, since it's in the 6th house, it could indicate that the document is in the trash. It could also point to the laundry or utility area, but we've already searched there quite thoroughly.

On the other hand, Mercury is separating from me (Jupiter in the 1st house in Pisces), while I'm moving toward the document (Venus). In that sense, I wonder if this could instead describe me obtaining a certified copy rather than recovering the original document.

Chart help request Did she follow me because she's interested in me?

Post image
2 Upvotes

This girl is the class representative for another section of my course. She has a very strong personality and is even considered by some to be a bit arrogant and controversial. We've never spoken at university, and I admit that her presence makes me a little nervous. Up to that point, that's perfectly understandable—she really does have the traits I mentioned, and I also find her very attractive. However, I've never actually had any romantic interest in her.

Recently, though, she followed me on social media, and I was simply curious. I'm wondering whether she followed me just because, or if there might be some ulterior motive. The reason I'm curious is that we're practically strangers, so it seemed a bit unusual.

In the horary chart, I'm represented by Mars in Gemini, which is peregrine, while she's represented by Venus in Leo, which is also peregrine. I'm also represented by the Moon in Taurus, which is a favorable placement for the Moon.

Venus in Leo receives the Sun, so she may find me attractive. The Sun in Cancer receives the Moon, which suggests that I'm primarily concerned with my own emotional well-being. I don't see any aspects indicating genuine attraction on her part, so I'd say there may be only a slight level of interest, if any. Besides, Venus is moving toward Virgo.

So, my conclusion is that there probably aren't any hidden intentions behind her following me.

Se quiser, também posso deixÔ-la com um tom mais técnico, como alguém acostumado a discutir astrologia horÔria em inglês.

Chart help request Is the talisman [name of L7] instructed me to make malicious towards me?

Post image
1 Upvotes

This is a repost (especially now that the Moon has bypassed Saturn).

Context: I initiated a reconcilation with a friend after turbulent life events. This person generously gave me an election to create a talisman. I created the talisman using the election nearly 7 months ago, followed the instructions to a T. This person told me the talisman was said to be Jupiterian in nature, to create wealth and relieve me of burdens. Ritual required another language and is just in a faith far different from the one I followed due to my own culture. It was unfamiliar to me.

Normally, that doesn't deter me and that is not the issue at hand. The talisman itself is a physical object. What was promised of this felt too good to be true and after 7 months, I cannot say that there's been deliverance on that promise.

Previous friend even so as much said that another friend of theirs did a similar ritual under a similar election and their lives just spiraled.

As of today that I cast this, I do not consider this person a friend of mine and they cannot reach me as if we were friends as of just a few weeks ago. I felt avoided by them in an attempt to resolve any conflict between us. I just took the hint and gave up on the friendship.

I acknowledged the avoidance and unavailability, how wrong it would be of me to push while being stonewalled and how much it hurts to be ignored by them, but even with months of silence, I didn't distrust them or their work.

I still believe this person to do good work because I know of their past work.

Upon reviewing past messages today, I question why someone who I know to be incredibly precise and thoughtful in their work would just seem to skip steps... I know we grow and change especially in our beliefs and methods as astrologers, but I question the intent behind the talisman and if it my best interests were in mind. There is no ill will from me if you look at the receptions which I'll detail later. I think at one point, I would've taken a bullet for this person. I believed in this person.

Well, not to place blame on the quesited talisman as a whole or the person, but life's been difficult for me, almost dramatically so.

I've experienced more blockages in certain areas of life that I spoke about in reference to L7 in our reconciliation conversation, days prior to me creating the talisman.

So nearly 6 months ago by of silence and avoidance go by. I received a second talisman by pure accident.

It was a strange occurence that would make any astrologer go, "Wow, that's interesting." I decided to just go with it.

It would be just a week after receiving my second talisman that I would decide to make myself inaccessible to this person and once I did, I thought of the first talisman and wondered if I should get rid of it, if it's causing harm in my life and if I have been tricked by someone I cared for.

So I am L1, Mercury in Cancer. I am retrograde and combust.

I consider the person mentioned in this question to be Jupiter in Leo. I exalt Jupiter while Jupiter holds me in no regard, but is aware of the Sun combusting me. Red flag.

I almost consider the Moon to be the co-significator of the question. It's approaching a bodily conjunction with Saturn from the fall of Saturn. I am considering destroying the first talisman. My second talisman corresponds to my natal L6. The Moon is under its influence in this chart.

The Moon itself is in poor dignity of Venus and Saturn which rule the areas of life I've been having trouble with in the past 7 months, particularly L5 (my child) and L6 considering life-threatening health issues that predate this friendship and my interest in astrology.

I feel especially weary over the combustion considering Lilly says a planet leaving combustion is a sick person becoming better and well, the opposite is happening here all underneath the influence of the Moon. I spoke at length with these areas of life with L7, who I long considered to be my astrologer.

Both the Moon and Jupiter in the dignity of L12, the planet causing my combustion plant a seed of mistrust in my heart towards this person and their work. In the past week, I have even noticed the resurgence of an unwanted person who betrayed me (and L7) years ago whom is in great fear of my secondary talisman and trying to project that fear onto me through subliminal posts, according to a separate horary I will not post here.

Whether or not, L7 and this other person are in contact is none of my concern... though I do have concern for L7, their life and wellbeing because I know how firsthand how destructive and envious our ex friend was.

I have to judge that the talisman, if signified the Moon isn't doing me any favors and even may be considered contained by Mars and Saturn.

I think if something isn't bringing me peace of mind, especially at my age with my internal and external circumstances, it has to go. Perhaps that is the Moon-Saturn conjunction, the death of the first talisman. There's not a testimony against harm towards me or the areas of my life within this chart, rather multiple indications of it.

Thanks for reading.

I appreciate any corrections or further insight.

Always happy to contribute to this community.

Chart help request Will I get the job?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I'm applying for a job through a public tender. It's basically a competitive bidding process where everyone submits their own proposal. My question is: will I get the job?

I'm Mars in Gemini in the 2nd house, peregrine, and the Moon is in Aquarius in the 11th, also peregrine.

The job is Saturn in Aries in the 1st. At first, it actually looks pretty promising: Saturn likes Mars and makes a sextile to the Moon. Plus, Saturn is literally sitting in the 1st house.

What worries me is that the job is ruled by Saturn. Even though the Moon receives it, I'm not sure it's a great sign that Saturn is in detriment. I'm also a bit concerned that Saturn rules the 11th house (which I take to represent the salary).

What's interesting is that, based on the job posting, the pay is actually pretty good, and the work itself should be easy for me given my background.

Am I missing something here?

Method/Technique Looking for a flat abroad, what signifies the flat?

My question is "Will I manage to find a flat in the foreign country that I'm moving to?", but I'm not sure what I should use to signify the flat. Suggestions I've seen include the 4th house (housing matter), the 9th house (abroad), the 4th from the 4th (my next residence), but I haven't managed to find a case scenario that matches mine exactly. What is your opinion?

Chart help request Is reconciliation possible?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I haven't spoken to this person in quite sometime, but for some reason I've been feeling his energy/presence around me and most recently an ex of his has friended me on social media. I don't know if these are signs or just noise around me, so instead of asking 'what does this mean' since horary doesn't really answer that. I asked if 'reconciliation is possible'

Querent (me):Ā Leo rising, signified by theĀ SunĀ in Cancer in the 11th house.

Quesited (him):Ā Aquarius on the 7th, signified byĀ Saturn, which is inĀ fallĀ in Aries.

There is no strong mutual reception between us; therefore this does not support reconciliation developing.
Judgment:Ā No.

Chart help request How will my next job go

Post image
3 Upvotes

Context: I posted another chart a few days ago asking, "Did I fail the interview?" It turned out that I did. Almost immediately, I was invited to interview with a different company for an Academic Coordinator position. This interview includes a 15 minute demo teaching, which honestly scares me because I'm not very confident in my teaching skills.

Both me and the job are ruled by Jupiter, so I think this position is more aligned with me than the previous one.

What concerns me most is the Moon in Scorpio. I'm not sure whether it simply reflects my anxiety about the demo teaching and the recent rejection, or if it's describing the outcome of the interview itself.

I'd really appreciate all the helps, especially the significance of the Moon in Scorpio in this context.

Chart help request Is he talking to someone else?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have limited knowledge on horary but wanted to give it a go. For context, there is a man i’ve been seeing for about two months now that randomly ghosted me and we haven't talked for a few days. He has a child with another woman (one he allegedly dislikes very much) and Ive had a sneaky suspicion that something or other someone may have taken his focus away.

My significators would be 8h jupiter in cancer at 29 degrees & the 11h moon in scorpio at 20 degrees. The guy in question would be 7h Mercury in cancer at 25 degrees and 7h sun in cancer at 4 degrees. Mercury and jupiter conjuct and the aspect is applied. I think it could possibly show reconciliation or reconciliation considering that mercury is nearing its final degrees before also entering leo. For the ā€œthird partyā€ i believe it would be 5th away from the 7th house which is 5h scorpio. I understand that because his significator is in the 7th that it’s clear he might be more focused on himself right now? Or it’s clear that he’s only thinking about himself. Also because gemini accounts for both 6h and 7h I feel like that maybe was significant as well…My only thing is I think with my signifactors it’s clear that alot of things are changing for me all at once and i’m kind of spiraling from it all. Around the same time i got a new job he also stopped talking to me. im also a bit confused confused with the fact that cancer is technically the 7th house but isn’t counted as the 7th house. Jupiter in exaltation makes me feel that i am receiving a lot of good things currently but moon in fall accurately presents my mood/emotional state and the upset i have been feeling regarding this situation.i feel like the chart could be leaning more towards no & there isn’t someone else hes talking to, but that there’s a much bigger focus on himself as a whole. i would love any ideas or interpretations of what you guys may see.

Method/Technique Moon Conjunct Ascendant?

I've done a few horary charts recently with the moon conjunct ascendant, and I'm not 100% what this means. Does that indicate that the answer to the question is a "yes" or is it just showing where the natives mind is at the time of the question?

Result provided by OP Will my cruise retain at least 4 out of 5 scheduled ports?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’d love some feedback on a horary chart I cast about an upcoming cruise. Funny enough, I recently posted here about a lost passport, which I was successfully able to find. I came back with an update because there were some fascinating hindsight correlations in the chart. This cruise is what I needed the passport for, and now I have a new problem! LOL

The question is: Will the cruise retain at least 4 out of 5 scheduled ports?

For context, this is an international cruise, and the ship has reportedly had a propulsion issue that started toward the end of the previous sailing. The current sailing has apparently had significant itinerary changes, so I asked specifically about my own upcoming sailing on July 12th.Ā

My main read is focused on the querent and the voyage. Scorpio rises, so I’m taking Mars as my L1 significator. I’m using the 9th house for the voyage since this is long-distance/international travel, which makes the Moon the L9 significator of the cruise/trip.

The Moon L9 is in the 1st house, which seemed like a positive testimony that the voyage comes to me or is strongly connected to me. That said, the Moon is in Scorpio and in fall, so I don’t read it as an easy or ideal situation. That seems to fit the real-life context of disruption and uncertainty. I have been quite upset today and will have limited information until I’m on board.

The Moon applies first to Mercury, which made me think of announcements, itinerary information, logistics, or scheduling. Mercury is conjunct Jupiter, so I wondered if that could show some kind of favorable news or workaround. After that, the Moon L9 applies to Mars L1, which I’m tentatively reading as the voyage eventually reaching me / connecting with my significator. And finally, Jupiter is the last aspect by trine, which seems favorable.

So my tentative judgment from the main significators is that the chart shows a stressful or compromised situation, but not necessarily one where the itinerary completely falls apart. I’m leaning toward ā€œwe do keep most ports / we lose one, perhaps with stress/disappointment, but still favorableā€ but I’m very open to correction.

As an aside, I also noticed a few things that may or may not be relevant, but I don’t want to overcomplicate the main judgment. If using the 7th house as a secondary significator for the cruise line/operator, Taurus is on the 7th, so Venus could represent the operator. Venus is in Leo in the 10th house, about 1° from the MC, which made me wonder if the cruise line is especially prominent in the outcome. The Sun rules the MC and is in Cancer, very close to / effectively in the 9th house, which seemed like a possible link between the outcome and the voyage itself.

Humorously, the ship is the Norwegian Sun. I did not use the Sun as a significator in my main judgment, but since the Sun rules the MC and is effectively in the 9th, I’m curious whether anyone would consider that symbolically relevant, even just experimentally, given the literal name of the ship.

But again, my main question is really about the 1st/9th/Moon testimony. I’d especially appreciate thoughts on whether the 9th is the right primary house here, how you’d read the Moon’s applications, and whether my judgment of ā€œmostly goes forward, but with stress/compromiseā€ seems supported.

Thank you!

UPDATE: Turns out the cruise kept ALL of its ports. The previous two sailings were impacted, one of them quite significantly. But they impacted those sailings to have plenty of time for repairs. The sailing I booked ran perfectly. However! I cancelled the cruise and made my own Europe vacation. I couldn’t stand the stress of possibly being trapped and unhappy on vacation. I made a vacation that was even better than my cruise that was booked.

Chart help request Is he travelling on the same train?

Hi!

This is my first post here, but I’ve been lurking to learn more about horary system and I’d like to ask if I’m reading the chart right.

Question: Is he (my crush?) travelling on the same train as me during weekdays?

Context: I’ve seen somebody on a train and, while it sounds cheesy, when we looked into each other’s eyes, I’ve felt something I’ve never felt before with any other man. I could feel him steal a glance from time to time, he gave me a smile at some point, but we were both quite shy, I could see he was nervous, and I regret not asking him for his number or give him mine. When I was leaving the train, he turned around to look for me.

Interpretation: it’s funny as I’m represented by Jupiter (Sagittarius) and he’s Mercury (Gemini), both planets representing some kind of journey/movement. Mercury (him) is already making a sextile to Mars in the 6th house - daily routine - and is in conjunction to Jupiter (me) which is also aspecting Mars (I commute to work). Both Mercury and Jupiter are in the 8th house and this is where I have trouble understanding it, but I read it as we actually travel on the same train, but we literally don’t see each other. He could be sitting somewhere where I can’t see him and vice versa. I think this might be true as Moon is going to make a trine to Mercury and then to Jupiter, and it’s also in the 12 house - again, hidden stuff. I’d like to add that we’re in Mercury’s shadow period and it’s going retrograde soon, so exact conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter won’t happen for some time and I don’t know how I should interpret it.

I’m just learning about horary, so I welcome any interpretation to make sense of it. Thank you!

Edit: I’ve just noticed that Mercury is also in trine to Ascendant! I’d use some help here as I have no idea if it means anything.

Method/Technique When Is the "Correct" Time to Ask About a Job Application? Does it Matter?

Hello everyone!

This might be a silly question, but I was wondering whether anyone has any input on this or knows of any references in Lilly or Frawley that might address it.

When applying for jobs—or really anything that requires a formal application—should one take into account whether the horary chart is erected before or after the application materials are prepared? In other words, is it more appropriate to ask the question before I have completed the application, or only after everything has been prepared and submitted?

Just for context: I am an academic applying for professor positions (as I have been for a little while now, lol). The application process for these jobs is often quite intensive and usually requires several documents beyond a standard CV or resume—research statements, teaching dossiers, writing samples, course syllabi, research proposals, and so on. These materials obviously play a significant role in whether or not one is successful.

Typically, I have always pulled up the horary chart before preparing any of these documents, simply to get a sense of how things might unfold. In practice, and looking back over the overall data of my job search, it does not seem to have mattered much; charts asked before the application was prepared have still described the outcome accurately. That said, I thought I would ask the question anyway.

I currently have my eye on a position that I would really love. It requires more preparation than usual--that is, documents that are not necessarily part of every application. The horary I asked about it did not look particularly promising, and it got me wondering whether my timing was wrong (though, I doubt it in this case, as I am typically someone who just trusts the chart).

Would it be more appropriate to erect the chart only after I have prepared all of the materials required for the application? Or would the chart still stand even if asked before any of that work has been completed?

I suspect I already know the answer, but I thought I would pick some brains here and see what others think!

Thank you everyone, for humouring me lol

L1 (me - Jupiter) changes signs before perfecting the conjunction with L7 (him - Mercury). I know that’s a classic sign of a ā€˜no’. But I was wondering whether you can see anything else here.

L1 is in dignity but I don’t feel good at all lol. What does the sign change mean? Do I move on from the thoughts of him? But then Jupiter in Leo is peregrine which weakens its condition.

Mercury in cancer (him) exalts Jupiter (me). But that doesn’t mean he wants to reconcile. He will move into retrograde meaning a rethinking of a past decision?

Moon is debilitated, my hopes are coming from a place of suffering. It will trine both Mercury and Jupiter before it leaves cancer, but does it change the outcome?

Debilitated Saturn on the IC also points to a no.
