not really a car guy but i love my fit and while i don’t look to modding it or anything my steelies are quite rusted and just generally make the car look worse so ive been looking at alloys but they just don’t really appeal to me quite enough to spend that much money on. does the acceleration and handling really suffer so much from the added weight of steel that im losing out on *that* much if i were to say- repaint them and use the money on nicer tires? for what it’s worth i honestly like the look of steelies

Would it be a bad idea to sell my 2021 Nissan Versa with 80k miles and get a relatively high mileage (150k-200k miles) 2nd or 3rd gen Fit? Versa and prospective fit are both manuals. The Versa has done me no wrong, but my head hits the ceiling if I sit straight up and the rear seats don't fold. The storage and camping possibilities of the fit are weighing heavy on my mind. I'm 6'4" and have one semester of college left. Tired of moving items around with other peoples' vehicles and plan on being pretty mobile over the next few years. Any advice or criticism is welcome!

i just got a new-to-me 2009 base fit with about 90k miles on it. i made an appointment with my local Honda dealership to get a transmission fluid drain and fill, but before my appointment, somebody from the dealership called to ask if the fluid has been changed before. i said that i don't know, and they told me that they will not do a drain and fill if the fluid is original, as it will ruin the transmision. is this information correct? i was under the assumption that a drain and fill will not cause any damage. i'm wondering if i should proceed with the service elsewhere if they cannot because i am afraid of ruining my transmission by not changing the fluid. any advice is appreciated!!

Bought this 2016 Honda Fit EX in February from a dealer with 67km. It now has 72 km and this new rattle :-(

Fingers crossed it is an easy fix. Although honestly listening to the second half of the video (where I crawled around trying to identify the sound), I am not sure the motor sounds all that healthy…..

This is my new to me 2008 fit sport. The previous owner told me this door was leaking and that she resealed it two years ago. I wasn’t gonna wait to see if it actually was leaking, so I finally got around to resealing it.

Along with the expected worn butyl tape, there was a ton of silicone, especially around the bottom. The tape was easy to get off with trim remover tools and isopropyl. The IPA did nothing to the silicone and the scraping couldn’t only do so much. The resealing probably won’t be as effective as it would be if there was no silicone.

This is not my first rodeo but it is my first Fit. I bought "universal" racks because they were about a quarter the price of the next one and because I could get them quickly. I just wanted to take some things to the recycling center that are too tall to fit inside.

Anyway, I discovered too late that the roof is wider at the front and narrows significantly towards the back. There are 2 ways to install the feet and the wider option isn't wide enough for the front and the narrowest option isn't narrow enough for the back.

Does anyone know if taking off one end and sawing off an inch or so of the crossbar and replacing the mount is going to impact what little safety margin I have?

Does anyone else have a problem with the plastic dust cover over the suspension rattling while driving? It only happens with the rear left one (one in video).

Is this a part that can easily be replaced, or is there a simple fix for this?

Hey all, I have been looking at buying a fit as my current car is on its way out. In my area I am seeing fits for sale that are 10-15 years old with 100k+ miles selling for 9-12k. If any of you have bought a fit recently, how much did you pay and how old/what condition was it in? Is my market just fucked,lol?

I’d still immediately buy the 4th gen hybrid if it was available here though

Any recommendations on springs and shocks? Been lookin at the Tein S Tech springs but also H&R. Just dont know how they feel, im not picky though.

This is my airport car. I leave it parked near an airport for weeks at a time and other than a slight mouldy smell due to old door seals it’s a trooper. Starts every time.

I ordered mine on March 19th. Evidently they've been having supply issues. And they're currently waiting for them to arrive. Hopefully mid to late August. Then they should start shipping out from there.
