…when it starts going around on its on? A neighbour brought me this one - small grapefruit size?

I swear this little fella is waiting on the other side of the wall until he hears me putting the food out… 2 minutes after I went inside with the dog 🤣

They were going at it for around 10mins but have now separated. I think he wants more as he is still pestering the female.

Two hedgehogs and one is making this noise. Does it mean anything that I should be worried about? Never heard them making this noise before

My husband took this video last night of two choghogs outside our back window. Are the noises they're making aggressive noises or attempted lovey noises? 😂 any info much appreciated, they are funny little nuggets ❤️

I watched this little one finish eating and start its shuffling journey down the garden. I got concerned when it didn’t emerge from behind the barbecue so I went to investigate. I found it wedged here completely crashed out with its face squashed against the fence sound asleep. Took the time to check it was ok visually with the torch on my phone which didn’t disturb it either. Not a great photo due to my phone being in night mode. Very cute 🥰

I definitely need to invest in a hog house!

Hello all.

10 days ago, a hoglet was brought in to work ( vets). He was found at the side of the road beside his deceased Mum 💔 dehydrated and covered in fly eggs.

Got the eggs off him, covered for fly strike in case I missed any. Since he's been with me, he's been wormed and had a course of antibs for a rattly chest.

He's doubled in size! Trying to teach him to forage but his heart is set on the kitten food 🙁 Does anyone know of any insect diets I can start weaning him on to?

Quick question

We have had wild hogs in the garden for 5 years - urban area.

Our gardens totally cut off now after some neighbour renovations meant the hog holes we had didn't work anymore.

They have raised beds around the edge of their garden higher than what they were so hogs haven't been able to transit from our garden to theirs and beyond.

I being the mad man I am have spoke to all the neighbours and they've said we can cut new holes to let them thru.

I'm worried that the hogs will now enter their garden from our other neighbours but maybe fall off the raised beds in their garden on the way to ours and get hurt or stuck. The area below the raised beds is just fake grass and paving so there's no reason for them to be down there, the only reason for them to be in my immediate neighbour garden is to transit to ours from other more natural gardens.

I was super keen to get all this organised but we have had a curve ball the last few weeks.

A new group of streetwise hogs are now ambling up the street outside our house and coming into the garden from the road and using our hog box to sleep and food box to feed.

I really don't know what's best, should we open the hog holes and let them navigate the raised beds next door and back into the other gardens as they did before, or should I just leave them closed so they don't risk that journey.

I'm in 2 minds. They are clearly very street smart and are now coming in from the front which gives me anxiety in itself. But I don't want them falling 2-3 feet and hurting themselves cause they can't see very well but potentially get safer access to more massive gardens in the back.

Bought a house that has a small patch of land across the road. Was doing some clearing and found a hog nest. Placed box over it and have started feeding / watering.

First time hogging for me.

We've had up to five hedgehogs visit our garden most nights over the last few years. The last couple of weeks have been amazing for sitting outside and taking a few portraits just before dark. There have generally only been 2 or 3 visiting recently, but each one has its own distinct personality. We've setup 3 different entry/exit points and several hog-friendly features to help them get around / find shelter. Def a good way to unwind in the evening 😄

Hi all, I've had a few messages asking for updates on my hogs. To those who were enjoying my videos, sorry for my absence, I'll continue making videos soon but I'm not quite ready at the moment.

The bad news is that Stumpy, our beloved three legged hog, was attacked by a fox. I managed to scare the fox off and get Stumpy to our local rescue within the hour, unfortunately the fox had managed to get hold of her remaining rear leg and broke it in multiple places. The rescue centre made the decision to put her down due to her injuries. The poor girl must have been in severe pain and I'm glad she is no longer suffering, but her loss is felt by us. She was our first hog, she had a great personality, and she was loved by us and our neighbours. She will be missed.

On a positive note, our other regular hogs all seem to be doing well, though I worry about the fox that attacked Stumpy. We also have our first baby hog who has recently moved into the garden and I look forward to introducing them to you all in the near future.

I'm not quite ready to edit videos of the hogs yet though, the pain is still a little too raw. This is the first time we've lost a hog and I think it will take me a while to get over the image of her suffering as I rescued her.

Rest in peace little Stumpy one, you'll always be my favourite.

Hey all. My obsession with hogs doesn’t seem to be ceasing, and I’ve just made an excel sheet to track Mahogany’s comings and goings.

His average time of arrival is 00:25, and he spends an average of 23 minutes in the feeding station at a time. What other data could I be measuring?

I’m also dropping some close ups from last night as Hedgehog tax 😄

Didn't see mom nearby but there was a cat that seemed like it was hunting it, he looked quite confused and kept wandering onto the road and almost got ran over by a car but me and some other ppl stopped the car. I took him in a towel and walked 5 min over to a close by forested area and released him there... Hopefully it was okay

Edit: I have multiple feeding stations, that was not the problem. After this, the other one and one of these were running circles for about 2-3 hours so I guess theyre mating.

Following a post the other day about a wild hedgehog that seemed to be dragging itself as it walked I now have a video of it. My parents think I'm worrying over nothing but what do you think?

Edit: I have been leaving specially bought hedgehog food and a bowl of water for them for about three years now. Probably why I have seen three in the garden at once one night.
