Double Trouble R35 GTR's
galleryThese two R35 GT Rs were getting plenty of attention at the weekend. Both have clearly had a lot of time, money and effort invested in them, with some serious upgrades. One has been prepared by Litchfield, while the other was sitting perfectly on a set of NISMO alloys.

GTRX- The global GT-R community app đ˛đ
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone đ
Just wanted to share something Iâve been working on with you all.
Owning a GT-R has introduced me to some amazing people and experiences, and thatâs what inspired me to build GTRX, an app thatâs another place for Skyline & GT-R enthusiasts to connect.
The idea is pretty simple: a dedicated space where you can discover events, jump into the global live chat, buy or sell cars in a Skyline & GT-R marketplace, and meet other enthusiasts from around the world who share the same obsession with these us!
This isnât meant to replace Reddit, Facebook groups, or forums, I still use those too. I just wanted to create another place that brings the community together and makes it easier to stay connected, whether youâre looking for your next event, your next GT-R, or just want to chat with fellow owners and enthusiasts globally.
If it sounds like something youâd enjoy, come join! Iâd genuinely love to hear your feedback and ideas as we continue building it for the community. Feel free to follow our Instagram @gtrx.app as we post all updates there. The links for download are in our bio!
Thanks for all the support guys! đđ

R35 owners who did full body PPF, honestly was it worth it? Just dropped $5.5k
Picked up a used 2017 Premium in Gun Metallic last spring, about 34k on it. Previous owner had it garaged and coated but you could see the front end had lived a life. Nissan clear coat is thin at the best of times and mine had that pebble-dashed look on the leading edge of the hood.
Anyway, been driving it around Phoenix for a while now and every week or two there's a new chip somewhere. Highway driving here is rough, lots of gravel from construction sites. I know some of you say cars are meant to be driven and to embrace the battle scars, but I couldn't get there mentally. So I bit the bullet and got quotes.
Got three. The flagship XPEL shop wanted $6,500 for Ultimate Plus full body. LLumar Valor came in around $5,900 at a second place. A newer shop that opened up in town was running Arvex Films (VexGuard Helio spec) at $5,500. Went and looked at all three portfolios in person before deciding.
Ended up going with the $5,500 quote. Arvex doesn't have the 8-year track record XPEL does so that gave me pause, but the install work I saw in the shop was clean â tight edges on the hood-fender line, no obvious seams â warranty is 10 years same as the others, and honestly I've read enough about older PPF turning yellow to know the material science moved on quite a bit even in the last 5 years. Shop was straight about it being newer to market, no oversell either way.
Three months in. Front has taken hits, one on the highway loud enough I pulled over to check â film scuffed but nothing under it, and that kind of hit would've been a chip on bare paint for sure. Clarity is good too, panel gaps and hood shut line still look factory and you can't really see the film unless you know it's there. What I'm still not sure about is whether I could have just done a partial (bumper + hood + fenders) for like $3k and been fine. Full body is more insurance than daily benefit unless someone keys the car.
Also, install took an extra day because they wanted to redo an edge on one fender they weren't happy with. Fine outcome.

Hey all. Finally able to be in the market. Need a little help getting started:
Iâve finally reached the ability to purchase a GTR. Whatâs a realistic number for a 2017 with relatively low miles (50k ish). Iâve been shopping and dealer prices fluctuate widely not even when taking into account salvage titles but just in general. Also has anyone in the U.S. bought from Canada? And if so where and how? Thanks in advance for all the helpful advice!

Keyless System Issues After Replacing the Body Computer
galleryHi everyone,
I was hoping to get some advice on this issue.
Last year, they replaced my windshield, and when they reinstalled the door seal, they forgot to reattach one of the clips that holds the seal in placeâspecifically the one on the lower vertical part of the door, behind which the body computer is housed.
After replacing itâwhich involved quite a few complications with various Italian Nissan GTR service centersâthe file they programmed into the control unit is evidently missing some kind of configuration, or they failed to perform some additional step.
The car starts up without any problems after configuring the keyless keys; unfortunately, however, the keyless entry function (central locking) doesnât work, the engine wonât start unless the key is inserted into the slot under the steering wheel (the âkey missingâ indicator remains visible on the instrument panel), and the trunk still wonât open with the key.
I think itâs some âsilly mistakeâ they overlooked, but itâs clearly beyond their capabilitiesâsadly.
I'm attaching some photos for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks!

Weldspeed RB26
Our new Nissan RB26 intake manifold features precision CNC-machined intake runners manufactured from high-strength 6061-T6 aluminium, paired with an A356 cast aluminium plenum for excellent strength, durability, and airflow characteristics. Every component has been engineered to optimise performance while maintaining the quality and reliability expected from a Weldspeed product.
A key feature that sets our design apart is the integrated coolant return and bleed system. Unlike conventional intake manifolds that rely on external hoses, fittings, and collectors, our integrated system eliminates the need for complex plumbing, reducing installation time, cost, and potential leak points.
Many competing designs introduce restrictions within the coolant circuit through small-diameter hoses and aftermarket fittings, which can reduce coolant flow and contribute to unwanted temperature issues. Our solution maintains efficient coolant circulation through a dedicated internal channel beneath the runners, exiting through a front-mounted water neck featuring integrated M12x1.25 and M12x1.5 sensor ports.

Liberty Walk finally made a widebody kit for the R33 GT-R, capped at 33 units
Kind of surprising it took this long. They'd already done the R32, R35, ER34, and S15, and the R33 was the obvious hole in the lineup. Now there's an LB-Silhouette WORKS GT for the BCNR33.
It's a full FRP conversion, not a bolt-on, and apparently engineered road-legal. Reworked front end, huge flared arches with functional venturi ducting, and the usual towering Silhouette wing out back. Wataru Kato did the design. Production is limited to 33 units, which is a cute nod to the chassis code.
What we find interesting is that the R33 spent years being the "awkward middle child" GT-R and now it's getting the collector treatment as clean examples climb in value.
Do you think this actually reshapes how people see the R33, or is a 33-unit kit too rare to move the needle on the chassis overall?

R33(?) GTR spotted at Motion Control Suspension.
About a week and a half ago, I went on a field trip with some fellow students from my class to Motion Control Suspension based out of Alpharetta, Atlanta GA. When Trevor brought us through the shop, he took us through their âresearch and developmentâ center (used VERY loosely), and this R33 (I think?) was in there.
This one is very clean, has a big single turbo, and according to Trevor is making around 500 to 600 to the wheels. Prior to this, I have never seen anything earlier than an R34, and these are gorgeous cars to say the least.
Also, please go easy on me if I got the generation wrong-. Iâm a Camaro guy, not a GTR guy-. But regardless I couldnât let this opportunity go. I had to have a picture.

Be totally honest. Which one? No bias, no offense taken. Either one, why?
Transmission diagnostics help
galleryLooking for advice regarding ongoing transmission issue diagnosis/thoughts :)
We have a 2008 CBA. It was occasionally flashing R or 1 and engaging, but sometimes it would jump straight to 2. Weâve had the car at the mechanic for a total of 3 times, approx 7 weeks in total. First round was a line sensor replacement with Dodson parts, plus a few other suggested mods whilst the box was out (Dodson gear lock, complete transmission service kit including tbs clips, valve body rebuild kit, o ring kit). They also did a custom tune, which made the car not change to sixth gear so quickly. It improved the problem a lot (in frequency of flashing and skipping to 2nd but not 100%) but not completely so took it back and they did a complete transmission rebuild. They found a R/1 gear synchro with worn teeth so replaced that, plus some scoring on the 2/4/6 shaft so replaced that + other suggested upgrades whilst it was split apart including Dodson mechanical circlip upgrades. The problem improved again (in frequency of flashing and skipping to 1 but not 100%). Once around this time, the R kept flashing without engaging continuously, so I placed in neutral and back in R and it engaged immediately. Took it back a 3rd time and they did another clutch relearn and tested it about 100 times and all good. But still now after 1 week of driving, the current status I would guess is that it selects R or 1 perfect 89% of time, 1 attempt/flash before success 4% of the time, 2 attempts/flashes before success 3% of the time, 3 attempts/flashes before success 3% of the time and 3 attempts of getting 1st gear before abandoning and skipping to 2nd gear 1% of the time. When selecting R attempts, I can hear a thud for each attempt, but for selecting 1st gear attempts, the thuds are not as obvious. The workshop said they are brainstorming and will get back to me about next steps.
Apart from this, the transmission is very good for driving 1-6. No issues at all when driving.
They also dynoâd the car and itâs performing well for a stock CBA. 307.3 wheel KW power.
Thank you for your time đ

Shock replacement help
galleryI may need to replace my front shocks. My GTR is making a wild squeaking and creaking noise almost everytime I drive. Goes away when it rains. I am looking for shocks and keep seeing these off brand ones. Are these a good replacement for the factory Bilsteins?

Nighttime R35
A local restaurant here in Montreal, Gibeau Orange Julep, often plays host to interesting vehicles. During a recent visit, this Pearl White Tricoat R35 was one of them. Enjoy.
