Discussion True Or False: Pearl Jam’s Vs. (1993) is better Ten (1991) and Pearl Jam’s best album?
I’d say true because it’s slightly a more diverse and political album with great songs like the album opener, Go, Animal, Glorified G, Dissident, W.M.A, Rearviewmirror, Rats, Elderly Woman, Leash and the incredible album closer, Indifference. The only song I hate on it is Daughter just because of how overplayed it was back in the day.
Also, it was the first PJ album with Dave A. as the drummer and this album was the peak of his drumming output.

Anniversary On this day, 35 years ago, Mudhoney released their third album "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" and saved Sub Pop Records.
In July of 1991, Sub Pop was days away from bankruptcy. They were out of money and couldn't even afford to pay the power bill on their office space. The label that brought Seattle together into one cohesive scene was at death's door.
At the forefront of underground music, they introduced the world to Green River, The Dwarves, Tad, L7 (RIP Jen), The Fluid, Love Battery, Thee Headcoats, Nivana, Sebadoh, Afghan Whigs, Coffin Break, Supersuckers, Reverend Horton Heat and more. Through their world famous Singles Club, subscribers would hear so many great bands for the first time, including Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Fugazi, The Gun Club, Das Damen, Beat Happening, Urge Overkill, Hole, Dinosaur Jr, Skinyard, The Flaming Lips, Blood Circus, Saint Etienne, Truly, Screaming Trees, Mark Lanegan and so many more.
But the money had run dry. When the warehouse team shipped out "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" a week before it's release, they were all but certain it would be the last record Sub Pop ever released. Fitting, in many ways, as Mudhoney were the biggest band in the Seattle Scene. Mark and Steve, as members of Green River, were Sub Pop's earliest act. It was going to make for a bittersweet ending for the label, but at least they got the record out the door - ensuring that Mudhoney's seminal follow-up to their self-titled masterpiece would be heard by the "masses".
Something miraculous happened instead. "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" surprised everyone and sold through it's initial 50K copies quickly - even reaching #34 on the UK album charts. Money started flowing back to the label. They paid the power bill. They paid the staff. They turned their attention to the next month's Singles Club release (Come - "Car").
The Gods of Grunge, the Godfathers of Superfuzz, the Beer Drinking Big Muffs had done it. Mudhoney had saved Sub Pop!
Two months later, Geffen would release the major label debut of another Seattle band - a celebrated but much less iconic band called Nirvana - and through a distribution deal that Sub Pop had with Geffen for their first album ("Bleach), as well as points from the new album (the tapes of which had been turned over to Geffen), Sub Pop was flush. For the next 35 plus years, and more, Sub Pop would stay true to their roots - if not always in style, in spirit - and be a refuge for all those Seattle kids who were overwhelmed, and rather disgusted to be honest, by the commercialization of the city and the genre.
Many years later, future generations would create a subreddit dedicated to Grunge that would define a "core four" that became scripture - causing those who came later to ask again and again "Is This Grunge?" - even though the answer always was and still is right in front of them.
So happy 35th birthday to all the good boys eating fudge - and to the mighty Mudhoney for almost 40 years of combining punk, psychedelia, indie rock and metal the recipe for making grunge. The answer to that oft-asked question in the sub is the same as it always was and always will be.
What is Grunge, you ask? Grunge is F#$king MUDHONEY! MUDHONEY IS F$%king GRUNGE!!

Discussion Any good documentaries on the hair metal scene’s reaction to grunge?
There must have been a moment when they realized they were fucked. I think of some of the bands that broke in the late 80s like Skid Row who only got like two years in the sun before grunge rained on their parade. Then you had established bands like Poison who released Unskinny Bop which was one of the biggest singles the summer before grunge happened, and then just like that they were gone.

Discussion You’re driving down this road. What song is playing on the radio or on your phone?
I think Wake Up or River of Deceit by Mad Season fit this scenery, or maybe Don’t Follow from JoF

Misc. What was Grunge?
What was Grunge? Who was Grunge? Its the shortest lived Genre of Music based in Seattle. This young lady who made this video is very well informed. She explains it all well. If it didn’t start in Seattle; it wasn’t grunge. Many bands were in the Alternative Rock Genre.
Grunge died in 1994 following the death of Kurt Cobain. By then, Mainstream Culture was trying to ape it, brand it and sell it. The most funny incident us when the New York Times was given a lexicon of Grunge which contained made up phrases that were a joke on the Mainstream. By then Grunge Fashion was being made up by designers later called Heroin Chic. The Irony was Marc Jacobs was releasing a “Grunge” collection from what was Thrift Store Clothes.
Starting in the late 80’s; a lot of folks were thrifting and making outfits literally out of what was found. Flannel Shirts being a common staple in Thrift Stores became the go to clothing choice. Jeans, work pants, band Tees, with combat boots (from your Army Navy Surplus) or is you had so e money; Doc Martins. There was no real look. It’s what you found and made yourself.
It was an exciting period of music. It was an exciting time.
Anyway; this video is the story of grunge.

Playlist Dilarian - Demonic EP (2015) Older Grungy Songs
The songs are simple and poorly produced, but they got the job done before. My newer music is private, though.

Discussion Does buying clothes from amazon/shien make me a poser? :[
I'm a kid so I'm not able to buy my own clothes or go to thrift shops by myself. I've really liked alt/grunge fashion lately, and I'm trying to find materials and easy stuff to do to make my own clothes, but my mom won't stop buying clothes for me from shien/amazon. I also doubt she'd let me go thrift idk, she prefers to just order stuff. Since she's gonna keep buying fast fashion for me pretty much no matter what, I want her to atleast get me clothes I'd want to wear, while I try to upcycle/make my own stuff even though i don't have many materials. Will getting clothes from shien and Amazon make me a poser though? :[
