My husband commented over the weekend that our kitten has become a “stage 5 clinger”. I think we just have a relationship that requires us to constantly be in close visual and physical range of one another. That’s totally different, right? 😹

You guys read that correctly. I’ve posted in here 2x already. 1st when we lost Lizzie… trying to find her and then grieving her for nearly 4 months while attempting to trap her anywhere we got word of sightings… searching nightly… driving around the block 50x every time we are headed home.

But I’m going through a really tough separation after 12 years. I live in the unfinished basement and have lost myself over the past year. Losing Lizzie was almost a breaking point.

So I went and did the right thing. I searched multiple rescues for a new cat that spoke to me. I wanted to make sure it was right. I found Janet and she didn’t have to be adopted with Michael…. But over 2 days of thinking I pulled the plug.

1 week later I go to clear my browser history on my phone and there’s the shelter page for the twins still pulled up. Out of curiosity I click on “available animals” and the very first cat….. IS LIZZIE!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. I spring into action. Get to the shelter…. Check her over…. And I swear to god it’s my cat.

I find out they’ve been treating her for illness (upper respiratory infection that got pretty bad when they picked her up she was really sick). She had 2 eye infections… and she had been at the shelter for a month in medical confinement. (Which Is why I hadn’t seen her listed for adoption). Her chip was checked- but the rescue we got her from has since switched over to city animal control and they weren’t able to get any information about who they adopted her to due to paperwork getting lost. Since re-adopting her the new rescue got possession of the chip and it was all updated to my information. For Lizzie and the twins. This will never be an issue again.

I readopted my cat- and now I have to sit here and wonder…. How tf was my cat found 45 minuets from my house????? Annually control told us where she was picked up. She was presumed dumped at an abandoned house.

So thankful I got my baby back. This was a really weird way for her to ask for some siblings.

It’s Lizzie’s world we just live in it.

I thought he'd fit here, his fur is soo interesting because its completely white at the base but with black tips which makes him look mostly grey
