Is it a stupid idea to give an RV...
I have an rv that I don't have any use for. It is clean and everything works. Is it a stupid idea that a homeless person might want it? After all, where would they put it? There are quite a few forest service camp grounds that are open this time of year that aren't charging anything as long as you move spots occasionally. Anyway, it was just a thought.

Floating the rogue river
My fella and I recently experienced floating the rogue river, it was amazing and a lot of fun. The only thing was, where we entered the river (Tom Pearce Park) and got out (just passed Baker Park) it wasn't long enough for us.
We're still new to this area and I was hoping someone knew of a place further up that we could start our float trip at.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions :)
*Thank you all for so many great suggestions and names of places for me. I appreciate it a lot :)

Poison Oak & moving to GP
I am considering moving to Grant’s Pass because I have a good community across all of the Rogue Valley and I particularly like the culture of Grants Pass, and it’s proximity to the ocean, compared to the other towns in the area.
My biggest concern is that I am highly allergic to poison oak, I’m a pretty avid trail user (running, hiking, biking, etc.) and have a dog who joins me most of the time. How in the world do I do this while avoiding poison oak as much as possible?
I’m allergic enough that I even get it in the winter when the leaves aren’t on the plant. I’m assuming that I will just have to go to the coast or higher elevations to get away from it. I guess I’m curious what strategies those of you who live there have found successful? And, what trails/areas are nearby that don’t have poison oak.

Need friends man...
Yo, im 17M in GP, i moved here round 6months ago from cali and i had a rough time during the second semester. Cant drive since i dont have my birth certificate to verify im who i am(dumb ik)... but i just have trouble socializing with others, im 420 friendly, i dont drink and obviously i cant go in bars, so nightlife is out of the question unless its an all ages music event. Honestly i try to make friends especially in school, i joined the theatre club and this coming senior year ill be in the classes. Point is im just tryna search for places or people that i think id like. Im learning how to skate, play guitar(also still learning), i like comics and whatnot. Im a pretty average teenager as far as media stereotypes go. Thanks

How can I find friends if I don’t drink
hello I’m 19 and I moved to the grand pass area about a year ago now that I’m fully settled and everything why is it so hard to make friends out here nobody is willing to talk in public and if you do talk to people it’s very little interaction or it’s people just being straight rude I want more social activity but I’m sort of socially awkward and it’s just been hard to find friends and a partner out here it feels like everybody’s closed off and p.s I don’t drink so is there any other option besides bars ?

Does anyone remember...
The Northwest Title Loans commercial from the early 2000s where an Evil Elf ties up Santa in a dark room and holds him for ransom, and so his elves go to NTL to take out a loan and pay the ransom and free Santa? It ends basically like this:
Announcer: Call Northwest Title Loans!
Evil Elf: (threatening) Or Santa gets it!

Oregon Country Fair Missing T1D receiver- AirTag is in Grants Pass
UPDATE! We have located my son’s receiver. My husband made contact with the homeowner and we discovered he left it in a booth at the Oregon country fair unknown to them. They brought it home. Now we just need to get it from grants Pass to Eugene lol
My young son, with type 1 diabetes, and I were at the Oregon Country Fair this weekend and he lost the receiver for his continuous glucose monitor (cgm). Small, black, w/ a silicone cover and probably looks like a small remote or phone to another young child.
It is smart receiver to help monitor his blood glucose levels, of no use to anyone else, and the AirTag now shows up in Grants Pass with an address. It is in the neighborhood near NW Evelyn Ave. and North NW. 3rd St.
If anyone who sees my post happens to have picked it up, or maybe has a child playing with a random item that sounds like this- Please DM me. Do me a solid please, and return the receiver to me in Eugene. I’ll coordinate pick up
or mailing costs.
Having type one diabetes is not only a life-threatening condition but extremely expensive. He is young, keeping track of medical supplies such as this in a fanny pack and life happens. I would appreciate any help to track this down.

Considering a move to Grants Pass, Oregon
Hey all! I am considering a move to Grants Pass/Medford area in the next couple years. I haven't decided on a specific area. At the moment, I am leaning Grants Pass, but doing research still. Southern Oregon seems so appealing to me as a change of pace in life and it puts me only a couple hours from my folks as where i am currently 6 hours away. I am curious from people in the Grants Pass and surrounding area what you like about it, dislike about it, positives/drawbacks? If any of you left the area, I'd love to hear your experience in why you left? Furthermore, what is the job market like in the Grants pass and surrounding areas? I'm leaning of going into plumbing so I would be looking for an apprenticeship probably open shop but open to union if it gets me in the door. I'm open to any information you all would be willing to give. Very thankful!

Where is the (sort of) nightlife?
Hey everyone, I’m in Grants Pass for a bit, and want to find some fun things to do at night. Where’s the karaoke? I’m not trying to go clubbing or stay out until all hours, I’m too old for that, haha. I just want a brew or two with a fun crowd. I struck out last night. I know it’s not a party town, I’m a long time Oregonian, visiting from a much smaller town on the coast that somehow seems to have more going on. Please and thank you for enlightening me!
And to whichever smart ass who commented and then wisely deleted the “Portland” comment; good call. I’ve lived in this state for over 25 years, some of those in Portland. If I wanted to go to Portland, I would….but I’d rather swallow a shotgun load. I’m looking for local info, not someone who thinks they’re being cute by being a prick. I’ve lived in almost every part of this state, just happens that Grants Pass isn’t a town I’ve spent much time in. It’s pretty awesome though, and I’d just like to find a few local spots where I might be able to spend an evening around fun people, so thank you greatly to those who’ve constructively responded!

Dependable local handyman available!
Hi everyone! I’m hoping to help my dad find some work.
He’s been working as a handyman/caretaker for a local estate for many years, but unfortunately the homeowner recently became very ill and is now in the hospital, so he’s suddenly without work.
He’s hardworking, dependable, and experienced with all kinds of property maintenance, including:
• General handyman repairs
• Yard and property maintenance
• Rental property upkeep
• Animal care and feeding
• Basic maintenance and odd jobs
If you or someone you know needs help around your home, ranch, rental property, or business, please send me a message. He’s honest, takes pride in his work, and is looking for new opportunities. He is based in grants pass but can travel locally.
Thank you so much, and I’d really appreciate it if you could share this post with anyone who might be interested.

Artwork donation
We are flying to Grants Pass to clean out my sister’s apartment next week. Wondering if there’s a “Pak mail” service nearby that will box up things to ship back to Michigan.
Also, looking for a place to donate artwork. My sister has a lot of her work and we’d love to find a worthy place to donate it! Appreciate any suggestions.

Chris Beck
I've been trying to find info on Chris Beck, but I haven't been able to find much so I thought I'd ask the community. I've volunteered for political candidates before, but I want to make sure he has my values.
Really don't want to start a hate thread of people fighting, but I wanted to know what the community knows about Chris Beck. I figure anyone is better than corrupt Cliff Bentz, but I wanted to see how the community feels about Chris.

Traveling through.
I know everybody in y'all area is not bad, but every time I’ve been through even as a light skin mixed guy I get some pretty crazy looks. There are a lot of places in Grants Pass and nearby that genuinely look like beautiful spots to travel to, but I’m incredibly nervous because of the history of the area as well as the lean towards the right. If it were me and me alone I really wouldn’t care about coming through, but if I’m bringing my family with me, it’s a different situation. Does anybody have advice on navigating the way through Grants Pass while black, I’m really not trying to be an asshole. GP is just one of the few places in Oregon that feels like a no-go zone, for me at least.
