My beautiful baby, Jolene, was a bottlefed baby. She's now about 8 months old, born in December 2025. She's amazing! Very friendly, but I don't know how to halter train her.
As in the picture, she can have a halter on. It's pretty easy to get it on and off of her and she doesn't freak out about it, luckily. I just don't know how to lead-train her. Is it too late?
I've never even lead-trained dogs, so I'm definitely gonna need some help and refer back to this very often. I want to be able to take her on hikes.
*I know the halter in the photo is a little small, we're getting a bigger one the next time we go into town. She's also very fluffy, I checked- It wasn't pressing into her bad.
*The 'cage' she's in is not something she lives in. She was chilling in it while her dye processed! I also have a huge herd of other goats, so I'm not the kind of person that has a single goat in a TINY pen. They have acres to explore.

I’m looking for some insight and advice on this…. All the other goat farmers I know don’t have a clue. It’s just odd.

I have coughing goats with a new group of young doelings. They arrived a 3 weeks ago after a long-haul transport. Since arrival, they have been strictly quarantined in a separate barn and pasture with no contact with my main herd.

3 days after getting off the transport truck, one had diarrhea (treated with Amprol, resolved) and another one had a soft cough (every 3-10 mins). The cough persisted despite supportive care (injected vitamins/ all goats exposed to electrolytes).

On the 19th/20th after 3 weeks of being here, I moved the new goats into a fresh, isolated pasture (quarantined barn at night) , it’s never had goats on it. On the 21st, almost all of the goats started coughing.

It’s a Soft, dry cough occurring every 3- 10 minutes, maybe sometimes more frequent. Zero nasal or eye discharge. No labored breathing. I listened to their lungs, completely normal. Currently running a fecal for lungworm, I’ll find out tomorrow after I finish it (I like to wait 24 hours). Still eating (alfalfa hay + weeds), drinking well, and very active. They’ve been running sound. Normal poops. Clear bright eyes.
Temps are all within the normal range, I’ve taken them repeatedly for all goats.

They are currently eating well and behaving normally despite the cough. I am considering calling the vet, but wanted to see if anyone had any insight.

Big Hoss is very proud of himself. Round one of breeding season is in the books. Now we wait for ultrasound day!

I have been looking for good quality goat minerals in my local stores (europe) but without results. The only minerals i come across are multi-purpose minerals for both goats and sheep. I've read these are bad since they dont have enough copper for goats. Online i find most people recommend Sweetlix meatmaker goat minerals but these are not available in europe. Does anyone know a good alternative brand i can find in the EU?

I already have salt blocks but apparently they don't provide enough nutrients for goats. So i'm looking for loose minerals for goats.
