I have never had this issue.

I just bought 2 new pairs of glasses from Bailey Nelson. They are the same frames, one as sunglasses. They are a round style which has been typical for me in my previous glasses.

The fish bowling I get from these lenses are crazy. It's so bad that the edges of my glasses are actually slightly blurry, and make text fuzzy when looking at it from above or below rather than head on. They constantly make me dizzy, and I just had my family try them on and confirm the same thing.

My prescription did not change at all, only my frames.

The Bailey nelson folks seem to have no idea what the issue is. Where do I start? Is it the index I chose? Is it the shape of the lens? Did they mess up my PD?

These glasses are hard to find online in the color I want them. Are there any dupes I can buy?

Has anyone here tried using eyemed vision insurance in Jins or Covry? I've been eyeing these two brands for my specs because they're better for someone like me with low nose bridge (actually almost non existent haha). The reviews I see are pretty mixed so I'd like to know what the process is like and how long would it take for them to give the reimbursement, and is it worth it?

Can anyone help me verify if this Ray-Ban Ferrari is authentic?
I bought it second-hand, so I don’t have the original box, case, or paperwork. The only markings are the ones shown in the photos (RB3703-M, Made in Italy, etc.).
The thing that’s confusing me is the Ferrari shield on the right lens. It looks much more visible and opaque than I expected. Is that normal for this model, or is it a sign that it might be fake?
I’d really appreciate any opinions from people familiar with Ray-Ban Ferrari models. Thanks!

This is my first progressive lens as I'm getting older and having trouble reading fine print. Anything within 15ft is nice and clear and I'm understanding the progressive lenses zones. However the main issue is that anything greater than say 30 ft is a little blurry. I just got them today and street signs were hard to read, I see distance better in my old pair of glasses. The place was really busy and there was a long wait to be fitted. So I opted to try them on and come back later if needed. When I ordered the glasses both the optometrist and sales rep said they take time to adjust to. So, is it normal to have blurry distance vision with progressive lenses?

They're very irritating, especially when in dimly lit rooms.

I have a prescription, but I only use glasses for reading. I can't read the words on the page, and I read a lot. Like, hours a day. I do not need them for looking at things in everyday life.

I don't want to spend money because I am constantly, constantly losing glasses. I have been using cheap reading glasses and my eyes are beginning to hurt.
You do not want to know how expensive the last glasses I bought were and that I lost them in < 4 months.

This is not a fashion statement. I just need them to read at home, alone.

After trying on dozens of frames and not finding a single one that I like, I found that I really like the Barton Perreira Nolan, but I can't afford to spend 800 dollars on just frames (in fact, I can't afford to spend 800 dollars on frames + lenses). Can someone recommend a more reasonably priced alternative -- perhaps in the 150-200 dollar range? Thanks!

I’m 34, and do hair and stare at a computer for hours a week (am in school). Vision caught up to me- Need glasses.

I feel it’s pretty apparent they are the right prescription. When I put them on things become sharper and more in focus. However, I feel woozy wearing them. It’s something about frames on my face, and I no longer really have peripheral vision when they are on. I keep taking them off, convinced it’s the wrong prescription, only to put them back on and see clearer. So I’m pretty sure it’s the correct prescription. I’ve been wearing them about 4 days. Even typing this post I can see clearer than if they are not on. It seems if I’m focused on one thing it’s fine, but walking around and switching my focus I get fairly disoriented.

Did anyone else experience a woozy feeling getting used to glasses? Or should I go back and get reexamined?

Hi everyone,
I’m 19 years old and have a high myopia prescription (around -7 to -8 D).

I recently got new glasses. The optical shop did not use my written prescription. Instead, they measured my old glasses with a lensometer and made the new lenses based on that. They also didn’t measure my PD or mark my pupils while I was wearing the new frame (at least not that I saw).

My symptoms are:

My old glasses work perfectly.
With the new glasses, I mainly get ghosting/double images in my left eye (especially on text on my phone, laptop, and books).
Distance vision is mostly okay.
If I push the new glasses up on my nose by just a few millimeters, the ghosting disappears almost completely.

As soon as I let go and the glasses settle back down, the ghosting returns.
Closing my right eye confirms the ghosting is coming from the left eye.

I went back to the optician twice. They adjusted the frame, but the problem remained. Eventually they told me that the frame I chose is larger than ideal for my prescription and that there isn’t much more they can do.

My questions are:

Could a frame that’s too large really cause symptoms like this?

Could this instead be an optical center/PD/fitting height issue?

Is it normal that pushing the glasses up by only a few millimeters makes the vision clear?

If the prescription is the same as my old glasses, should I ask them to remake the lenses in a smaller frame, or is there something else they should check first?

I’d really appreciate hearing from opticians or anyone who’s had a similar experience.

In my experience, the quality of advice varies a lot. Some opticians recommend what they personally like. Others keep bringing out more and more frames and saying almost every pair "looks great." It often feels like they're trying to make a sale or hit a KPI instead of helping me find what actually suits me. I rarely feel like anyone is considering my face shape, facial features, personal style, or what actually looks good on me.

How confident did you feel in the advice you received from an optician? Did it actually help you choose the right frames?

I’m looking for advice for my mom (70 years young) from anyone who has worn these lenses or from opticians who fit them regularly.

She currently wears Varilux X Design 1.60 with Crizal, but she’s disappointed with them.

Her biggest complaints are:

•Near/intermediate vision isn’t as good as she’d hoped.

•She has to move her head around to find the clear spot for reading.

•The peripheral areas blur too quickly, so she feels she can’t see enough through the sides of the lenses.

Her optician recommended Zeiss SmartLife Individual 3 (1.60) with DuraVision Platinum, quoted at $850 CAD.

Money isn’t the deciding factor. She’s happy to pay for the best option if it provides noticeably better vision. She wants one excellent pair of progressives for everyday use rather than multiple pairs of glasses.

For those with experience:

•Is Zeiss SmartLife Individual 3 better than Varilux XR?

•Is Varilux XR a noticeable upgrade over the older Varilux X Design?

•Which offers the widest usable near, intermediate, and peripheral vision?

I've been struggling for a while with eye fatigue, headaches (especially during tasks like driving and prolonged screen use), and over-stimulation. It turns out I'm dealing with an accommodation problem, resulting in that my eyes and eye muscles are constantly working overtime.

I'm curious if anyone here has personal experience with this. Do specific eye exercises (vision therapy) actually help improve this issue? If so, which exercises worked for you, and did you genuinely notice an improvement in your visual stamina or tolerance levels?

I got these used frames for free and had them re-glazed last week. I was making slight and very gentle adjustments to the nose pad arms and the right one popped out. It goes back in but is very loose, the left is rock solid. The hole which it goes into appears to be slightly bigger now too.

Are the frames cooked now or can they be repaired? Is there any DIY fix I could do?

Of all shops i visited all dont carry.
