I am 19, just finished my first year of university/college whatever you wanna call it (I am from London). So this was an insane watch. Obviously I have known of Lena Dunham due to her polarising existence as a pop culture figure and this show was very realistic and vulnerable and she truly wrote what she knew (apart from the pregnancy stuff obviously).
My favourite part of this show was Elijah and Hannah's friendship. My least favourite dynamic was Adam and Jessa. That was so horrible. Marnie was completely throwing me off throughout the whole show. Shoshanna finally realising she needed to stop being friends with them made me so happy because the energy in those friendships were so horrible. Like they were not good friends with each other at all.
An episode I really despised all of their behaviour in the episode where Marnie hosted them in the Hamptons but not the hamptons, and the way they fought with eachother really hurt me. Like that was really a great portrayal of how they don't deserve to have good friends and why the ending makes so much sense to me because how can you go on a trip with your friend and it's genuinely so shit. I would hate this life.
A really strong episode for me was Hannah and Chuck Palmer. That was such a powerful narrative of an episode and I really really really enjoyed that and the execution of it. That was a real stand out for me. I honestly haven't stopped thinking about that episode.
I will probably add more to this, but Lena Dunham... wow.
