Any begginner tennist who want to practice?

Hello! I recently started playing tennis (and not great at it) and I’m looking for someone to practice with who’s also a beginner (or someone more experienced who’s patient and doesn’t mind running a bit).
I’m in my 30s, if that’s relevant. Happy to rally, get some exercise and improve together! (Preferably somewhere reachable by bike form Geneva center)

Pilates Instructor Pay

Hi all! I am interested in becoming a pilates instructor and was hoping to hear from anyone who's currently teaching (or owns a studio). Curious about:

  • What's the typical pay per class?
  • Are most instructors employees or independent/freelance?
  • If you're freelance, is it usually a flat fee per class, revenue share, or something else?
  • Which arrangement seems to be more common in Geneva?

Feel free to DM me if you'd rather not post publicly. Thanks in advance!

Visiting Geneva in Sept/Oct as a solo female traveller, need recommendations for my specific interests!

Hallo!

I'll be visiting Geneva late Sept and looking for some recommendations for my interests. If anyone also has any tips/advice navigating the city, that would be much appreciated!

My interests are:

- Nerdy shops (anime, manga, figures etc)

- Nature (beginner hiking routes, things to do around lake Geneva)

- Big foodie (authentic Swiss food, where do the locals go?)

- Independent shops (I love supporting small businesses)

- Enamel pins (I collect pins of places I've visited)

- Self care activities

Thank you all in advance ^_^

See / touch snow in July

I have a friend in Geneva who came from Mauritius and he has never seen or touch the snow (his lowest temperature ever lived is 15°C).

Hios dream is to see and touch the snow in real but we are in July in full heat.

Do you have some recommendation to do a little trip (not too far from Geneva) where we can do that without a hiking (ideally accesible with a cable car or funiculaire).

I checked Glacier 3000 but on the web cam it does not seem to have snow, I tried at Chamonix but also I did not see so much snow but I could have missed the right webcam.

Thanks a lot for your help !

Anyone into metal, breakcore, internet culture & alt scenes ?

// english below

Saluut :)

I'm looking for people who are into :

- alternative musics (metal, punk hardcore, breakcore, nighctore, emotional wave, ...)

- underground and internet cultures

- creatives stuffs (design, music, art, photo, video, fashion, ...) or simply curious

It feels like there's a lot of potential around here, but everything is quite scattered. The idea for now is to meet people, share stuffs, go to concert, and maybe in a scd time organize small events, zines, or creatives projects.

If this sounds exciting, feel free to comment or dm me!

Anybody forgot their dress in Parc La Grange?

Found this beautiful white embroidered dress draped over a bench right in front of the Villa. Honestly, sitting next to it while reading a book feels like the start of a rom-com, but yeah, realistically someone just forgot it.

If it’s yours, come rescue it! I’ll be here for a while. If not, I’ll leave it safely right here on the bench.

Sildenafil cost questions

My GP recently prescribed sildenafil 100 mg. As I understand it, this medication is not covered by Swiss basic health insurance.

Does anyone know roughly how much it costs at pharmacies in France, or whether it may be cheaper in another nearby European country?

Does any Swiss supplementary insurance plans cover it?

Any recent personal experience would be very helpful. Please feel free to DM me if you would rather not comment publicly.

Thank you in advance!

Why are so many restaurant menus AI slop?

I've just come back from a first-time trip to Geneva, and I was surprised by how common AI-generated posts were. Restaurant menus, event announcements, everything. Even at the airport.

There's clearly a defining style that makes them quite obvious to spot, and they're, in my opinion, very ugly.

ETA: One menu somewhere close to Petit-Saconnex even had "CHE" instead of "CHF."

Canadian Visiting (Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain)

Hello! I am visiting the above countries at the end of July and I will be in Europe for only 10 days, but I am hoping to make some new connections/friends while I am there. I am visiting my buddy in France and we driving all over and may take the train from time to time, but I thought I would get a head start on making some friends/a tour guide/a couch surfing experience. In exchange, we can do the same for you if/when you come to Canada to visit us! We both in our early 30’s, very active, friendly, goofy, and like to party responsibly (raves/disco. If you are interested in connecting send me a dm and we can exchange socials or something and go from there!

BUS Line 1

This is a mild rant for bus 1. I understand the crisis that Geneva is in, but this is a key line in the city, and it is always late or cancelled. You miss one bus, then next one is in 28min even though per time table should be less than 10. Has anyone also noticed this?

Can anyone identify this aircraft that was parked at Geneva Airport (GVA) this morning?

Thumbnail maps.app.goo.gl
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to identify an aircraft I saw parked at Geneva Airport (GVA) this morning, Sunday, July 19, 2026, at around 7:10 AM.

Here is what I remember:

- It was a medium-to-large passenger aircraft, but not something huge like an A380.

- It was completely or almost completely white.

- I couldn't see any airline logo or recognizable livery.

- The aircraft registration was written on the vertical stabilizer (tail), in the area where an airline logo would normally be.

- I vaguely remember the registration starting with "A6-" or "A.-", but I'm not 100% sure about this.

- The aircraft was parked in the parking area approximately around https://maps.app.goo.gl/zLgMT98b7QLxpM8G9?g_st=ac (46,2448230, 6,1251683).

- I think it may have arrived the previous day (Saturday, July 18) and remained parked overnight.

Does anyone know which aircraft this could have been?

Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Tennis in Geneva

Hello,

Anyone wanting to train his serves in tennis? Currently I want to train mainly my serves to develop proper technique.

So ideally someone who'd like to train his serves too, so we can just send to each other the balls during 1 hour session, with eventually some trades.

Background: Just got back into tennis, took 2 lessons with a coach, and he told me I may be somewhere around R8 level right now (beginner / lower-intermediate), but I'm motivated to improve.
