Don't get scammed.Beware of DMs and chat requests.
Tips: Meet up in person to verify the seller's student status, identity, and ticket status. You're all theoretically students and you should be on campus already so this should be easy. Don't be lazy and skip an in-person meetup. Don't send money without verifying the seller first. If you can't verify the seller, consider using Venmo's 'goods and services' payment feature, there are protections if you do get scammed.

I swear this is one of the dumbest fucking things Iāve dealt with on campus.
I rode through the Tech Green āDismount Zoneā today, and campus security stopped me again. The path was basically fucking empty. It isnāt the middle of the semester between classesāitās summer. There were maybe one or two people on the entire walkway.
But hereās the part that really pisses me off.
While theyāre telling me to get off my bike because itās supposedly a āpedestrian zone,ā thereās a golf cart driving right down the same fucking path.
This such a waste of tax payers money, cuz 99% of time these securities enforcing the dismount zone over the summer are just sitting under the shades and scrolling on their phones!

Hey folks,
I was fully registered and going into my final semester of my junior design VIP (CS major), just to get an email today that the VIP is cancelled.
I know thereās a number of requirements for registering for the 3-credit VIP, that I am listing below:
* Undergraduates can only use the 3-credit option once. It is only available to students who meet 4 criteria: 1) in their third or later semester with the same team,Ā andĀ 2) in their last semester with the team,Ā andĀ 3) the student was enrolled with the team immediately prior to the 3-credit semester (excluding summer),Ā andĀ 4) the student has instructor approval.Ā
Since the situation is really entirely out of my control, is there something I can do to not have to start over? Starting over is really not an option for me as it would delay my graduation (both financially and I have a return offer contingent on me graduating on time). Even anyone I can reach out to/ appeal with would be helpful.
Iām sure there has to be some sort of policy or something to be done in this situation because it is really unfair. I have emailed both my CS advisor and my VIP advisor already. Anyone ever been in a similar situation?
Thank you so much.
Hi friends, I am considering taking a leave of absence to focus on healing from some traumatic events in my personal life that happened last year (during my first semester at GT). I am hesitant because I have a GRA and donāt want to let the team down on the project, but in truth itās been difficult to make progress over the last several months.
I am a bit nervous to talk to my advisor about it, so I wanted to start by asking here. If anyone has taken a leave of absence, can you please share your experience in the comments or DM me?
I am looking for details about logistics as well as how it impacted you. I welcome any and all details you want to share, but specific questions include:
- can I keep my student health insurance while on a leave of absence?
- is it possible to take a leave from research duties, and only take one class?
- I am a bit concerned about taking a break so early, especially because I have not taken quals yet. Will the leave affect my ability to continue in this program?

I am an international student going on final semester in fall 2026 - I have received an internship offer (part time) and a GTA offer. I only have 3 credits remaining in my final term.
If I take only GTA - the requirement is to be a full time student. Since I only have 3 credits to graduate, will they make an exception on this? Or do I have to take 9 credits + 3 GTA credits?
If I take only the internship - Can it be combined with reduced course load? So that I only need to take 3 credits to complete my degree.
Is there anyway I take do both internship and GTA in my final semester?
What is my best course of action? - Cost is my biggest factor
Internship is pretty flexible with work hours and my course is a non thesis program

I took Linear Algebra through a dual enrollment program in high school, and I got an A, but I didnāt understand the material one bit. I want to retake the course because itās very important for my major, and I have to take linear algebra 2 eventually, but I also donāt want to hurt my grade. I was thinking about auditing the class as it seems perfect for my needs, but Iām not exactly sure what itās like and how it works. Does anyone have any input?

I'm not sure how new this is, but you can now view a 3D model of your specific room from the housing portal. Seems pretty neat!

Hi! I am a new transfer student and was planning to room with some friends who are currently students on campus. I have my room booked and everything but when I go to the room swap tab and set both preferences to custom I get significantly less options for room swaps (1-2 pages on my end compared to 27-40 pages on their tab). Any reason this might be? I have looked it up but canāt seem to find an answer to why this might be.

I just dug through my phone and found an old video near Brittain where absolutely nothing was happening. Was a little confused, did they swap the words for ācheer on the brave and boldā? Are they saying ābreak the ratioā? And what were they saying after bust their ass?

Obviously, I know the research option doesnāt guarantee a paper, and you need to still need to do the additional work to actually be able to publish. But for those who did the research option and published (in ml, robotics, or other CS research areas), how helpful was the research option and its classes in getting undergrads to successfully publish. Also, how useful UROP different from the research option?

I'm an incoming graduate student (MS ECE) and would like to know what I'd be missing if I dont attend GradExpo. There's a 3 day event that I plan on attending when GradExpo would be taking place, however if it's too important to miss I would like to know ahead of time so that I can hold off on finalizing any travel plans that I have.
I will be able to attend GradIO, though I'm not sure just how similar the 2 programs are. Is it fine if I skip GradExpo and jist go to GradIO, or will I be missing out on anything crucial? Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks!!

I know this is probably not possible but I wanted to confirm and see how others have handled similar cases. I am a MSCS student at GaTech and I want to do research work in a lab at Emory. As an F1 visa student, I can only work on campus while on full time student status. Given that a lab in Emory is not considered as on-campus work, are there any workarounds/alternatives?
Thank you in advance

I was just wondering with how Flock seems to be everywhere and can track people. I was wondering if GT has uploaded/given/shared student IDs and Buzzcard photos to Flock.

hey, put together a little tool just to make searching vips/campus orgs a bit more convenient. looking to add tech research labs in the future, it's difficult because there's no central resource / list of labs here.
let me know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions/feedback. hope this is helpful!

My current lease ends on July 22, but my next lease doesnāt start until August 15 (possibly a week later), so Iāll have about three weeks without housing.
I donāt have much furniture, so moving around isnāt a huge issue. Iām mainly looking for ideas from people whoāve been in a similar situation.
What have you found to be the best affordable options? Did you use short-term subleases, campus resources, storage + Airbnb, or something else? Any GREEK life still open?
Thank you!

My time slot for dorm selection was one of the latest and ONLY glc rooms were available. Is it just a crappy dorm or something?

I just got admitted off the waitlist yesterday but i feel like im totally screwed in terms of housing and class registrations because itās so late. I submitted a ticket and support responded saying they had housing availability and that i would receive a spot if i applied. but like⦠can i really go off their word? Not to mention iād be attending one of the last FASET sessions and iāve already seen alot of posts on this reddit about registration being a nightmare Housing is a dealbreaker for me and I donāt want to accept unless ik i can live on campus. Im already fully committed to gsu with housing secured and class registration complete. Is it too late for me or should i take a leap of faith with gatech?

Iām trying to figure out an appropriate minor as a bme major (i believe minors can be useful if u want them to be so plz dont tell me how my minor wonāt matter).
I am majoring in BME and considering the HMED minor. Iām not pre health but have an interest in drug design/delivery (even tho im not sure what that would be exactly). I canāt see myself doing anything with devices so im not really interested in the more robotic minors. I donāt know exactly what I want my career to look like so Iād like a minor that could apply to many fields within BME. Any thought about this minor and its usefulness would be greatly appreciated.

A desire path is defined as an āinformal, unpaved trail created by pedestrians repeatedly taking the shortest or most convenient route between two points, often ignoring officially planned sidewalks.ā I see these semi-frequently around campus. Not sure if itās possible to pave these, but I feel like Iāve seen it done before. This one is absolutely needed.
