"Work In Progress Weekly"
You may post your game content in this weekly sticky post. Post your game/screenshots/video in here and please give feedback on other people's post as well.
Your game can be in any stage of development, from concept to ready-for-commercial release.
Upvote good feedback! "I liked it!" and "It sucks" is not useful feedback.
Try to leave feedback for at least one other game. If you are the first to comment, come back later to see if anyone else has.
Emphasize on describing what your game is about and what has changed from the last version if you post regularly.
*Posts of screenshots or videos showing off your game outside of this thread WILL BE DELETED if they do not conform to reddit's and /r/gamemaker's self-promotion guidelines.

Hi there. I am the developer of Pixel Spin! A casual brick breaker game where you control a ring of shooters to clear a pixelated image. Available on Google Play: Pixel Spin! Color Flow

After more than two months of silence, I've made a new devlog detailing the extensive changes made to my action RPG, Tower of the Immortals. There are flow charts in here, so you know it is serious business. I've detailed the rebalancing of the game's progression curve, the total overhaul of enemy intelligence and behaviors, spruced up pixel art, the redone logo and title screen, and some upcoming features like racial abilities and an adjustable difficulty slider. v0.60 is much closer to completion than not, and the game will have its page up on Steam real soon.
I posted a more extensive overview of these changes here: https://bynary-fission.itch.io/tower-of-the-immortals/devlog/1582961/roadmap-to-v060-the-steam-demo-total-enemy-behavior-overhaul-reworked-progression-curve-beautified-pixel-art-new-logo-and-title-screen-and-more

This is a really nice breakdown. It's interesting to see how your project has evolved over time (particularly like the graph)

Hello everyone! I've been developing a take on an incremental where you use alchemy circles to defend your base. Currently it's very barebones but it has a steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4668270/Alchemental/
I'm currently working on adding more pretty UI elements and improving the timings within the game.

This looks great! I like the art style. Will it be like an endless survival/incremental kind of game? Or is it like set amount of waves and new game+ kind of deal? (or both?)

Thanks a lot! I'm inbetween ideas right now, i want to have a short battle phase with you killing enemies and you go back to the skill tree.
What i want to have different is the inability to complete the skill tree, you'll only have 40 points in the demo and ~120 in the full game, you'll design your build, use the aditional circles you want via skill gems and finally i want to add active skills.
The main purpose of the game is to get all the skill points and then gather enough souls to create a philosopher's stone which stop the red moon and end the endless night. I mainly want people to use the endless mode after completing their build.

Ooo very nice that all sounds like a fantastic gameplay loop. I'll be sure to follow along with your progress!

I've been working on getting the demo ready for my virtual operating system simulation sandbox and programming education game https://store.steampowered.com/app/4695620/5YNOS/
It started out as a random idea one weekend "I wonder if I can mock up a basic desktop interface in GameMaker that's interactive?" and then just scope creeped from there. It's now at the point where the start up flow is: POST -> BIOS Settings (optional) -> Profile Selection -> Load Desktop.
There's a "Dev Academy" profile baked in that is specifically for a step by step interactive tutorial for learning programming, SQL, Git etc and the programming language is custom and runs inside a VM inside the game, the language is called Fantasylang (syntax inspired by PHP) and is intended to make the educational aspect more engaging (as Python, and Javascript educational and puzzle games have already been done several times over). Naturally this led to bringing the same language outside of the game in the form of a standalone runtime which you can read all about here: https://fantasylang.com/ the API Reference documentation tells you what works both in 5YN-OS the game and outside of the game in the standalone Fantasylang runtime (most of it is completely cross compatible which I think is one of the coolest thing I've ever built).
The alternative to the Dev Academy profile is creating your own or using the Guest profile and you can do whatever you like within the simulated Operating System sandbox. There's a lot of different apps I've built out over time and I separate them into 2 main categories. Tier 1 apps that are written natively in GML, and Tier 2 apps that are written with Fantasylang (and most of the available apps are written in Fantasylang). You can read more about the game here: https://5yn-os.com/
I'm currently working on finalising and testing the Steam Workshop integration for the in-game "Marketplace" which will allow you to directly view, subscribe/download, or upload Fantasylang apps to the Steam Workshop. I will be interested to see what kind of apps people create once the game launches.
One other thing that I think people may find interesting is the "Darknet" app in-game which is like a hacking simulation. Whilst it's currently not super deep compared to games like Bitburner or Grey Hack, I probably will still add more functionality to that particular app overtime because I think it ties in nicely to the rest of the game/simulation.
And lastly, there are several secrets inside the game to be discovered. There's an in-game terminal command "secrets" which will show you the ones you've discovered/unlocked and what you haven't with a bullet point list of "???".
In terms of having built this in GameMaker I have no regrets. GameMaker (and GML) have been a joy to work with and this is my 2nd serious project in GameMaker (Ascending Realms being the first that has a demo out but is still a WIP).

I've been working solo on my first game for quite a while, and I finally launched its Steam page. It's a fast-paced 2D action-platformer roguelite featuring challenging boss fights, companions, permanent progression, and countless item synergies.
I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback on the Steam page, trailer, screenshots, or even the overall first impression. And if the game looks interesting to you, adding it to your wishlist would help me a lot as a solo developer.
