Just wanted to make a post to thank anyone who shares their pickups/ fav funk records. I’m 22 and work at a record store and am always looking for cool new stuff to cut my teeth on. This sub brings so much amazing music into my life which I then get to share with other people at my work. So thanks again, you guys rule.

For me after 1969-74, my favourite era of funk is the late 70s to early 80s, when new wave 'punk funk' acts carried the dirtiness of the raw grooves and bass lines into the new decade. The rawness of the recordings really contrast with all the synth heavy stuff coming out in the 80s. One of my favourites from P.K.D, 1983.
