Foosball Table Buying Guide

Should I Buy This Foosball Table?

After you decide to buy a foosball table, the next logical question is "Which one?"  A quick search of Facebook Marketplace may show dozens of tables for anywhere from free to $3000. Here is some typical advice that the subreddit has given over and over.

Look for a recognized tournament brand.

The ITSF, which is a world governing body of foosball, recognizes the following brands of tables as of November 2025:  Bonzini, Roberto Sport, Leonhart, Garlando, Tornado, Ullrich Sport, Rosengart, and JX (Jiuxing Sports).  Other quality tables that are not officially sanctioned but still worthwhile are from Warrior, Fabi, Dynamo, Rene Pierre (a nice table but probably not for someone who does not already love Rene Pierre tables), and Fireball.  ITSF has also approved the Infinity Table for "Two Leg" play, which is different from the way foosball is played on the other tables.

There are a number of reasons to limit your table purchase to one of the brands listed above.  Usually they can withstand a lot of abuse, and when they do break replacement parts are available.  Replacement balls are sold that are optimized for performance on those specific tables.  Most of those brands offer entire lines of tables that allow you to get a table with base features for a much lower price than a high-end table.

The most important reason to choose a table named above is that you can build skills on those tables.  Foosball gets old fast if you do nothing but spin the rods, or if every time you try to control the ball it gets away from you because of poor table design.

Look for the brand that is most popular in your area.

Maybe you never plan to play in a bar or tournament, but you should still look for a table from the brand that is most popular where you live.  In the United States that will be a Tornado, with some Bonzini in Virginia, North Carolina, and elsewhere.  Bonzini is popular in France and Scandinavia, and Leonhart and Garlando are popular in Germany.  The Middle East appears to prefer Tornado.  Japan focuses on Tornado, though Fireball is popular in other parts of Asia.

One reason to choose a table popular in your area even if you never plan to leave your basement is the availability of replacement parts.  Another is that you might someday change your mind, and you might as well have transferable skills.  Another is that lower-end but quality tables of that brand are more likely to be available.  Finally, your table will have more resale value (or, in fact, any resale value at all) if it is popular in your area.

What else should I look for?

When buying a used table, check to make sure that the playing surface is level and that it is not stained, warped, or bubbled from spills or humidity.  Make sure that the rods are not bent, the men are not cracked, and the goals are not "blown out."  A blown out goal is one where the edges of the goal have started to chip away because of too many shots hitting the edge.  You might also check the walls for dead spots, where the ball does not bounce away as lively as it does from other areas.  If you can take an experienced player with you to check the table, do that.

Heavier tables are better, assuming that you can get them to where you want them to stay in your playing location.  Coin-op tables are usually heavier and more durable than home models.

If you are buying a low-end table from one of the brands above, consider whether the legs have individual levelers, if the ball return is at a convenient location, and if the men are counterbalanced (that is, can you put the men in a position where they wil not block the ball, and they will stay in that position).  Some brands may not offer counterbalanced men.

Do I need any accessories?

Ideally your playing area will be very well-lit.  If you cannot arrange that based on where you place the table, consider getting a light.  You might also buy a couple packs of tennis grips to put on the handles.  Buy an extra ball or two; they can wear out.  Buy at least one extra man of each color and the parts and tools necessary to replace a broken man.  Get an extra bumper and an extra bearing set.

Your table should include any tools that are necessary for maintenance.  Tornado tables typically include a pin punch so that you can replace the handles and the men.  If they have split bearings, they will include a hex wrench.  Coin-op tables may include two keys, one to open the cabinet and another to open the coin box.  If the table should have screw-in leg levelers, make sure those are there.

If you know someone who already has a table and wants to accessorize, you can find that person cup holders, neon lights, rod covers for the portion of the rod that sticks out toward the player, shot speed readers, and even "robots" that will move the players in a simulation of a defense.

How much will I pay?

That depends on where live and how patient you are.  If foosball is popular in your area and you want a used table, then you should be able to find one for a reasonable price in a few weeks.  If foosball is unpopular where you live, then you will need to be patient to find a deal.  Check Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and the Facebook page of any local foosball group.  Often you can buy a used table at a large tournament.

If you have the money, consider a new table.  That will typically include some support on setting it up, and maybe even a demonstration.  As of November 2025 in the continental United States, a new Warrior professional model is about $1800, Garlando ITSF is about $2600, Tornado tournament model (T-3000) is about $3100, Rene Pierre about $3200, Bonzini B-90 Classic is about $3250 (about $200 more in Western states); Leonhart ITSF model is about $3500.  (Sadly neither the Louis Vuitton table ($87,000) nor the Hermes table ($68,300) appear to be in stock.)  Many of the brands have lesser models available for a lower price.  All prices are are shipped prices, when I could find that information.  These will vary significantly in other countries, assuming that those tables are available at all.

As of November 2025, you will very rarely pay less than $500 USD for a low-end used model of a good table brand.  You should expect to pay $800-$1000, though that number varies substantially.  Shop around.  Sometimes you will find someone with a nice table who needs the space or who has another reason for giving up the game.

Why shouldn't I buy one of the $50-$100 tables that I see on Marketplace?

Those tables are toys. Typically they are low-quality and disposable, even the ones that are dressed up to look like pieces of nice furniture.   Replacement parts are virtually non-existent.

There are exceptions, of course; if you find a well-preserved Million Dollar or Match Play table, that might be the perfect gift for someone who played in the '70's and wants to relive those memories with friends.  Usually, though, you will end up with a table that does not allow repeatable play, that breaks easily, or that has some other disadvantage that allows the table to start collecting dust quickly.  The next time Christmas rolls around you will be the one trying to dispose of a large piece of furniture.  You might get a few hours of fun out of it, but the likelihood that you will keep coming back to it is not high.

Anything else?

Even if you are not interested in regular competitive play outside your basement or office, watch a few videos of professional play, or go to a local tournament just to see the kinds of things that you can do on the table.

Foosball players wanted! 🐸⚽

Hi everyone! 👋

Probably a long shot but this post is mainly meant for people playing in Belgium and specifically around Leuven. So if you are, epic! Keep on reading 😉.

So, I'm the captain of a foosball team and we're looking for new players to join us!

We compete in the lowest division, so not too much pressure. Newbie or a seasoned veteran, you're more than welcome. For us, table football is about more than just the game: camaraderie, good laughs, and having a great time are just as important. We do wanna win tho :P.

Curious? Come along and give it a try! Send me a PM and we'll set up a tryout, a chance for you to see if it's your thing, and for us to see if there's a good fit with the team.

Hope to hear from you! 🐸⚽🍻

Rules Question What happens if the ball stops in such a way that you can't touch it without knocking it in to your own goal?

I occasionally get a situation where the ball is stopped behind the goalie in such a way that it can't be moved without being knocked in the goal. House rules I treat this as a dead ball, but is there an official rule for it? Something like: if the controlling player refuses to move the ball...

We love foosball, so we made a chaotic party game inspired by it

Hi everyone!

We're a small indie studio and after spending way too many hours around foosball tables, we thought:

"What if foosball became completely unpredictable?"

That idea eventually became Pimbolas, a local multiplayer party game where the core gameplay is still recognizable as foosball, but every match can change thanks to crazy power-ups, different arenas, and ridiculous ball types.

Sometimes you're playing with a giant ball. Sometimes it's on fire. Sometimes it's... a planet.

We weren't trying to replace real foosball or make a simulator—we wanted to capture that feeling of everyone yelling around the table and turn it into a couch party game.

The game just launched on Steam, and we'd genuinely love to hear what people from the foosball community think about our interpretation.

Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3621200/Pimbolas/

If you have any questions about the development or want to know how we translated foosball mechanics into a video game, I'd be happy to answer them!

Thanks for checking it out!

Buying Advice Foosball goal catch tray part - looking to replace.

I came across a table recently (my neighbor was going to throw it out) that I’d love to use, but it is missing a part underneath that catches the foosball. The missing tray is on the black keepers side. Ive included the intact tray on the red keepers side for reference.

I’ve been unable to find the part, don’t know what it is called, and couldn’t find a manufacturer either. I posted what the part looks like underneath from the side that isn’t missing, as well as the only discernible markings underneath (the numbers). Can anyone tell me what this part is or where I might look to find it? I can also check other parts of the table if anyone has advice for identifying the manufacturer. As you can see I’m not fully familiar with the nuances of these tables. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tournaments Played in ATSA tournament and had the worst experience till date.

I recently participated in ATSA Hong Kong 2026.
The tournament vibes were good but as soon as they got to know that I can win the Open Singles, the refrees on the table started giving me fouls and didn’t foul my opponents even when the cross the time limits of possession.
Such an awful experience as a player.

Tournaments How about a trick shot contest?

Post image
14 Upvotes

So instead of being a Debby downer on here how about this. I would love to see a trick shot contest at one of the major WFT or World Cup Foos major tournaments.
We all have seen some really cool stuff on tour or YouTube but that only scratches the surface of what can be done and the vast array of cool trick shots. My proposal/concept is you have a trick shot contest. Much like a game of make it take it or Horse in basketball. A skilled trick shooter calls the trick aka says what they are going to do then the field does the trick, miss that trick and you get a letter let’s say Foos so spell Foos and your out of the contest.
You can’t do the same trick 2 times in a row so everyone has to do different stuff each round. The winner gets some money. There are also other ways to incentive the contest to get skilled players too.
Also I’m saying do this type of trick shot event at a major like Vegas, nationals, worlds, or World Cup not ever major just 1 and hype it up. See I’m all for gimmicks to attract people to the game BUT why not actually have a gimmick that showcase the major skills of great players. I just think something like a trick shot contest would get lots of views online at places like twitch or YouTube. Like championship games are cool but often don’t have a major razzle dazzle to get views. Trick shots do. I mean basketball has dunk contests and baseball has home run derby so why not do this with Foosball.

I built a free foosball tracker for my office table — separate attack/defense ELO, ranks, achievements. Would love this sub's honest feedback.

Hey r/foosball 👋

A while back I got tired of arguing about who's actually good at our office table, so I started building a little app to track our 2v2 matches. It got a bit out of hand, and now I'd genuinely like feedback from people who care about foosball.

What it does:

  • 2v2, fixed attack/defense positions, first to 5 or 10. You tap the player each time they score.
  • Separate ratings for Overall, Attack and Defense (Glicko-style). Your attack rating even settles against the specific defender you're up against — so a great 2-bar isn't scored the same as a great goalie.
  • Live win-probability during the match
  • A rank ladder (Recruit → … → Commander) based on your recent form, not a frozen career average — so a hot streak actually moves you, and the top ranks decay if you stop showing up.
  • 50+ achievements to chase: comebacks from 0–4, sub-60-second wins, scoring all 5 of your team's goals, that kind of thing.
  • Head-to-head compare, a win-rate matrix, and a weekly highlights digest.
  • Works fully offline (our table's in a basement with no signal) and syncs once you're back online.
  • Optional AI "roast" that trash-talks whoever choked hardest — if your group is into that.

It's completely free — no ads, no trackers, and you don't need an account just to browse the stats. Runs in any browser, and there's an Android app too.

I'm not selling anything (there's nothing to sell). I mostly want to know: does this match how you'd actually want to track games? What's missing? What would make it fun for your table or league?

Would love if you would give it a try: scheiben.dev/fuss/about

Right now, it's available as a web app and an Android app.

The Sublime Competition

We found our competitiveness in bars, arcades, and game rooms. Games that transcend into sport. But what is competition? What actually is sport?

We noticed early that our eye-hand coordination helps us succeed. In darts: we have been able to toss the tiny spear into cork with accuracy, on a pool (bumper pool, billiards, snooker) table we are able to find the perfect angle to send one object into another with accuracy. It's the same on a shuffleboard table: using our talent to calculate the angle and force onto the primary object for score or to frustrate our opponent by leaving that object in position to obfuscate their path to victory.

Foosball, our beloved obsession, is different. Foosers have an intelligent, sentient, crafty opponent literally standing in our way. We are challenging one another head to head, face to face. An Opponent that is determined to block our attempts and respond without prejudice in real time, right away. Immediately. Instantly. Surprisingly.

Yes, we do calculate force and angle to perfection but we must also deal with strategies that include our opponents skills, strengths, weaknesses. We must consider our opponents adjustments to our efforts. Even though our adrenaline is overpowering us we must instantly consider what adjustments they can implement against our attempts so we can foment mistakes and take advantage of their miscalculations. Sublime.

Foosball: the sport. My sport.

WFT Nationals Impressions

Nationals this past weekend was a solid tournament. The North American Cup looked like a fantastic time, and I was sorry that I did not have an opportunity to participate. For people who come from states (or provinces, though Canada fielded a combined team) with large scenes, this must be a great time.

Attendance was good but did not seem great. The level of competition was very high throughout. Everyone there was good-to-amazing, and we are getting to a "throw the ratings out the window" level with the accumulation of talent in some of the divisions. Rookie/Amateur skill seems ridiculous now compared to just a few years ago. I can't judge the other ratings.

The most extreme outlier was Jeff Tiglon, a singles amateur who went directly from his loss in the rookie doubles final to the first round of open eliminations, where he three-straighted Tony before going out to Evan MacGregor. He has modeled his game after Fred, and had qualified by beating, among others, Tom Yore (hall of famer) and Tyson Francis (excellent Canadian pro on the rise). In other events Tiglon beat Brady Weyrowski (who won open mixed with Iveta Moore, great playing by both of them) and won Amateur doubles. Just killed it all weekend. He was on the radar after being runner-up in Rookie Singles at Worlds last year and having good finishes this year, but I am not sure we have seen that kind of performance since Tony won Rookie Singles at Worlds one year and then played in the final of Open the next.

(At some point the tour needs to decide if they have implemented the ratings to give a few talented people a window to beat up less-skilled players and win a world title or two, or to give as many attendees as possible an opportunity to play people within their rough skill band in the events for their rating. Or maybe they have already decided, since the best that Tiglon can do after beating Tony is move to very low expert after Worlds.)

The venue was so-so. I was stuck in a smoking room, which was lousy. The food was decent but expensive, and since the casino was 20 minutes away from anything there wasn't a lot of motivation to get out. I think that some of the other foosball players spent a lot of time at the casino, though, and there is no reason not to do a couple tournaments a year in that kind of venue so long as it does not inconvenience our junior players too much.

I did not enjoy flight format. In the old days I could have been out and done with an event like Open Doubles on Saturday night and on the road on Sunday, but the second flight was scheduled on Sunday afternoon. Payouts were not until after 6:30 on Sunday night, and Open Doubles ended at midnight. That's too late, and in my opinion foosball would benefit tremendously with people who work regular Monday to Friday jobs by ending events at or near 5:00 p.m. the final day of the tournament. At least that gives everyone a chance to get home. Otherwise the lack of urgency seems part of getting another hotel room stay out of the players. Disappointing.

One of the Foosball USA kids from Michigan won Beginner Singles, which was great to see. He could play. The youth movement is in full swing, and the few kids who aren't foosball killers now probably will be within a year.

WFT rolled out tiny tablets at each table where people could sign in or face recall. That worked fine, though next time they should be on opposite sides of the table (wherever there is already traffic) so that we are not getting between tables to work with a tablet while others are playing nearby.

Not so many foreign players at this event, which is too bad. Still a few, though.

What impressions did others have?

Tabletop foos ball replacement

Random question. I picked up a miniature foos ball table (20 inches, like the one shown here) from a thrift store and it didn't come with any balls. The 1.42 inch ones I ordered were way too big -- anyone know where I can pick up replacements?

Playing Tips Ran into an issue refurbishing a table and need advice.

I'm refurbishing one of the championship tables from the 90s. Plan is to deep clean the rods, install new bearings and bumpers, basically new everything.

When removing some of the men, I noticed a lot of the pins are broken. Then I encountered one with such a messed up pin that my removal tool literally went inside it. I was a dumbass and hit with a hammer hard a couple more times before realizing the situation. It is REALLY stuck in there.

So stuck that when trying to crank it out with the forks of a hammer, I used my entire body weight. The protective towel I was using slipped and I took all the skin off the top of my thumb. Ouch.

After cleaning up, I tried hammering it out the other side with my backup removal tools and they all bent before making any difference. Hammering in a small screw on the opposite side was my final attempt, that is stuck now too. I think I could get it out with a drill, but I don't want to mess anything else up.

Asking for help because I have no idea what to do besides pulling out a saw and cutting the man off. I want to avoid that at all costs because I do not want to damage the rod. I don't think the rod is damaged as the removal tool is only about 3/4ths of an inch in at most. But it genuinely may as well be king arthurs sword right now.

Any advice is extremely welcome. I'm not sure if it's a common issue as this is my first refinishing of a table.

I think there a scenario where foosball sees a material resurgence with the new anti-AI sentiment that is brewing

If you are monitoring current trends of depression, isolation…people’s addiction to doomscrolling…etc…

There’s a near future where people revolt against a lot of technology. We’re already seeing it all over, just google anti-Ai commencement speeches at colleges.

That said, if marketed correctly, foosball could really take advantage of that opportunity.

It brings people together. Challenges people’s inner self that wants to accomplish something. Everyone is accepted (for the most part). You instantly have friends. You could have a no cellphone rule even, although this doesn’t make sense with the new tournament technology, but that’s not the point.

Instead of results driven, social benefits driven. No tolerance for butthead behavior…

Again, it would take a cohesive strategic marketing plan by whoever is running things now….but I can see it.
