My bottom bracket seems to have a problem, I've been using fixie for a few months already but everytime I try to attempt a skid ( I have the fundamentals for the skid, but it seems that my bike has something faulty), my crank seems to go loose for a bit when a pulling pressure is applied to the pedals when I attempted to skid, is there any solution for it?

Whats a good bike to upgrade to from the state Bicycle Co. Core line?I've had this bike for a year but I've been wanting something lighter and something with better components, and would like something with steel tubing but I wouldn't write off aluminum. I want something with decent clearance and that'll last me a while. I've been online for hours looking at fuji feathers, wabi specials(with much persuasion from zach Gallardo) and a bike that I really want but can't find anywhere, an all city big block. If there are better options than these bikes at around the 1k price mark, please let me know.

I’m running a 19mm Rant Bangin’ Cranks setup with a 148mm spindle and a Euro BB in a standard 68mm BB shell frame.
Whenever I put a lot of force through the pedals (especially when standing), I get a creaking noise. It seems like it’s coming from the BB area, but I can’t pinpoint the source.
I’ve already removed and reinstalled everything, cleaned and re-greased the BB, checked the crank bolts, chainring bolt, pedals, chain tension, and even the frame around the BB, but the creak is still there.
Has anyone experienced the same issue with this setup? Is there something specific about running BMX cranks in a 68mm Euro BB frame that could cause this?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Not sure if there is anything out there that will fit these Redshift Arclight Pro Flat pedals. The holes on the side are about 7-8mm wide and 8-9mm tall, but there is also a bolt that goes through to attach the silver part of the pedal to the central black part. I’m not looking for something that will hold up to a 2000w sprint, but I do like having a little extra security on the pedals.

One option I thought of was to use straps for toe cages, but add cover that they feed through to reinforce them a bit. Maybe something like the MKS Fit-a with a leather piece they thread through at the top, or something like that.

I have recently bought a bike from santafixie around 2,5 weeks ago and have been confused for a while. On the website they said it would take 7-8 business days to arrive, yet i ordered it on the 27/6 and now its the 13/7 and still haven’t gotten any updates. Is this normal or should i refund the bike.

If i could get any feedback or your guys experience on this company that would be great.

What are some of the stuff i have to prepare, and how can i make a race like this known in a city where its never been done or heard of? I know i need a route and some set of rules but idk much about anything, ive seen loads of videos of people riding in it but thats about it, i live in spain seville and would love to organize something like it, could i get into any legal problems over something like this? And what can i do to see if people are cheating or aren't getting to all the checkpoints? And i want to give out some prizes like a poster stickers idk. Can anyone help ID this fixed gear frame? Listing says it's a Fuji, maybe a feather, but I can't see any branding or decals and It doesn't exactly match any feather frames I can find.

I’m completely new to the fixed gear scene, so sorry if this is a basic question.

I have an old Peugeot road bike at home (very similar to the one in the photo) and I’m thinking about restoring it and converting it into a fixed gear because I really like the clean, minimalist look.
I have no idea what parts I would need, whether the frame is suitable, or what the approximate cost would be. Is this a realistic project for a beginner, or would it be better to buy a complete fixie instead?

I’d appreciate any advice on:
What parts are required for the conversion.
What I can keep from the original bike.
A rough budget for doing it properly.
Anything I should watch out for with old Peugeot frames.

Urtopia engineer here. Not trying to start a “carbon is always better” debate — aluminum is strong, proven, and makes a lot of sense for many e-bikes.

But for daily commuting, frame material does change a few things people actually notice:

**Weight**

This is the obvious one. A lighter frame matters most when you have to carry the bike upstairs, lift it onto a rack, move it through an apartment hallway, or ride with assist off.

**Ride feel**

Carbon can help reduce some road buzz, especially on rough city streets. It doesn’t replace good tires or geometry, but it can make short daily rides feel less harsh.

**Handling**

Less weight can make the bike feel easier to maneuver at low speeds — parking, U-turns, elevators, tight bike rooms, etc. Not glamorous, but very real for commuters.

**Trade-offs**

Carbon usually costs more, and damage inspection can be less straightforward than aluminum. Aluminum is easier to trust for heavy-duty utility use, racks, cargo, and rough treatment.

For us, the interesting part isn’t “carbon vs aluminum” as a winner-takes-all question. It’s more about use case.

If your e-bike lives in a garage and mostly does long flat rides, aluminum may be totally fine.

If you carry it often, ride in stop-and-go city traffic, or want something that still feels bike-like with low/no assist, carbon starts to make more sense.

Curious how others feel: for commuting, would you rather have a lighter frame, lower price, or more rugged utility setup?
