Discussion Nail salon told my dad to soak in barbicide

Story time:

My dad has been getting regular pedicures at a nearby salon to just clean up his man feet. The tech accidentally nicked his toe with scissors and trying to rectify the damage, proceeded to put together a barbicide foot bath for him to soak his feet in so the cut wouldn’t get infected. He objected and they sent him home with a half full gallon bottle of barbicide and told him to soak his feet in it for 15 minutes. Thankfully my dad knew better as there is a skull and crossbones on the bottle and danger written all over it. After researching barbicide we found that it’s extremely corrosive/toxic to skin and should not ever come into contact with your skin. Who knows what would’ve happened if he followed their suggestion.

Anyways, this was terrifying and this salon could seriously hurt people. The health department was contacted.

Discussion Dermabond/ointment on lacerations

Just went to the ER for a small laceration to my right palm that was gushing blood. It happened after carrying a dusty treadmill through the garage cut it. Upon arrival to the ER, my palm had stopped bleeding. The wound was not cleaned. The ER doctor did not wipe off any blood or clean the wound. Dermabond was immediately placed and a small bandage was wrapped around my palm. I received a tetanus shot. I was prescribed bacitracin to apply topically every 8 hours. I was reading about the glue and the topical and it said petroleum-based products like bacitracin will cause the glue to quickly break down. Has anyone been prescribed something like this before? This guy has 1 star reviews everywhere and I’m trying not to be bias but I believe he should’ve asked if the wound was even clean before trying to close
