General New to the series

Upvotes

Hello folks,

I’ve started my fire emblem adventure with Engage. I really love gameplay itself, by the plot is just meh. Also all the characters are kind of too nice and unrealistic - royal knight talking about doing laundry for main character, everyone gets along, no conflicts or drama. I’m forcing myself to just push the content, most of the time I skip dialogs.

I’m considering buying switch 2 just for Fortunes Weave. What can I expect plot wise and character wise? Same level of character design as in Engage? Do you think it’s worth to get Fortunes Weave at the premiere or better to wait?

Thanks

Gameplay Awakening main character is weak ?

Hellooo, I just started the Fire Emblem serie with Awakening but I feel like the main character (the tactician) is a lot weaker than my other units, is it a skill issue or is it just bad ?

General Something that seems to have gone largely unnoticed. The Green guy in the second trailer has the Arago faction emblem on his armor. Potentially related to Leda?

General Did my Lugh get stat screwed or is Hugh just better than people say?

Lugh promoted at 18, Hugh at 20. Lugh has no stat boosters and I don't remember giving Hugh any. No hard mode bonuses.

Overall, I'm just really surprised. I've always heard Hugh described as a walking membercard who is okay if you're desperate for a mage, but not worth the price. I wanted to use him, so I paid full price for him.

For him to turn out better than Lugh really caught me off guard. Lugh was my early game boss killer and was my first promotion. (Rutgher got strength screwed. He got way better later on after an energy ring and 4 strength level ups in a row) I was not expecting Hugh to blow him out of the park. Hugh finally caught up to and passed him because he began just being a staff bot or benched because his bro, Clarine, and Hugh all were performing a lot better.

Obviously Lugh had way more utility due to availability, but Hugh took way less training to get online. Lugh got a significant amount of experience allotted him, whereas Hugh killed a few promoted units and was online.

Is this normal? or was it just typical FE shenanigans were one was blessed and the other was cursed?

General Question Found Fire Emblem SNES Games

I visited a local collector's store and saw Fire Emblem games on SNES, which I never knew existed. The labels looked professional and said they were English translations. The three games were Mystery of the Emblem, Genealogy of the Holy War, and Thracia 766. They were 50 USD each. Are they worth picking up? I've heard these are unofficial copies? I know nothing about these games and I thought I knew the SNES catalog so these were surprising to me. Thank you.

Can’t believe they just casually dropped the prettiest guy I’ve ever seen in a post about weapon ranges lol. Had to do a quick doodle to get it out of my system while I eagerly await more FW news!

Story The "Maiden" from FE:A is a hilarious character to me. She exists purely to maintain the timeline and conceive Lucina. Chrom apparently likes her enough to marry her despite none of that relationship being shown & she doesn't interact with her time traveling daughter

General A Question for my fellow Genealogy Fans

I had this thought while replaying Genealogy of the Holy War yesterday.

At this point, do we want a full remake of GotHW or would a port to the Switch/S2 satisfy us at this point? I dread the fact that if the game gets remade, the story will be changed because IYKYK. Also those incredibly large maps would likely be broken down into 30~40 chapters.

Also for my remake enthusiasts, what new things and/or changes would you like to see?

For my Switch port enthusiasts, is there any QoL you wish would be implemented in the OG game?

Gameplay [FE11] I’m stumped on how to beat Chapter 23

I’m on Chapter 23 of FE11, and I got rid of all the reinforcements that spawned in, but now I’m kinda stuck. None of the other enemies still on the map will move towards me, and I can’t reach any of them in one turn (a strategy that I relied on for taking out the reinforcements). I also didn’t get the lightsphere and starsphere, which I just now learned is a requirement for killing Gharnef (I know you don’t have to kill him to beat the chapter, but it’s gonna be a lot harder to reach the seize point). Is it possible to still beat this chapter with my current units and not lose anyone else, or do I need to start the chapter from scratch?

Gameplay Fire Emblem Awakening Lunatic + Tips

Just finishing up a maddening run of engage and would like to try to attempt a lunatic plus run of awakening on actual hardware. Last time I played Lunatic plus I got to chapter 6 before having to put it down and want to give it another shot. What can I do to be successful, and no I don’t want to do a Robin solo. Ideally I would like to do no grinding but I am not sure if you can beat the game with gen 1 units only. Should I promote asap or wait? Any help is appreciated.

Gameplay Starting a new game of FE Awakening in 2026

I haven't played Awakening since it came out, but was thinking of going back and playing it.

I want to play as a Male MC so my Morgan is a daughter (I actually named my second born after this character), and I may only play the one time so I want to try and get the best parent pairings possible.

I did try just looking it up but there are so many different things out there I don't know where to start. Can someone, anyone, please give me a solid list of pairings.

Cai and Peter were excluded since they didn’t fit the 20 photo limit and they are children so…

With the newest post of Nuzzo, wanted to create a discussion on all the diverse (and beautiful) men we’re seeing with the trickle information for Fortunes Weave

Would love to know the thoughts on the character designs, who’s your favorite and - channeling my inner Tialla - who you’re S supporting on each route!

Will be shocked if Dietrich isn’t #1

Gameplay Crests Probably Won't be Equippable in FW Spoiler

So I've noticed some discussion about crests in Fortune's Weave seemingly appearing/disappearing on certain characters--namely cai and theodora--which many people have interpreted as crests being equippable. Some also say this proves that FW is a sequel because Hannenman's technology might be the cause.

The more likely explanation is that crests only show up in the battle forecast if they are affecting the combat in some way.

We already ses this in personal skills. In Bonaventure's combat teaser in which he fights with a sword, there isn't a personal skill in the forecast. Nuzzo? also has no skills in the combat forecast despite (almost certainly) having a personal.

Of course, characters might still be able to gain crests in the story somehow. We know consuming/ getting a transfusion of Nabatean blood grants their crest. I also wouldnt be surprised if the stone in Cai's hand is a crest stone or an Agarthan replica of a crest stone.

There also probably isnt some magic way to remove crests either, because Esmeralda's dialogue with Dietrich insinuates that she couldnt remove her own, since she was nearly murdered for having it.

Point being, many characters we've seen might not have crests we know about and those we have seen likely arent able to equip or unequip their crests outside of permanently gaining one. Also, these forecasts probably cant tell us much about the game's place on the timeline.

General Top 10 favorite berserker type characters (pre-Fortune’s Weave)

War Masters are also being counted because I always interpreted them as berserkers who learned to throw hands. Arthur’s not here because his entire shtick is being a hero.

  1. Ross from the Sacred Stones (he joins at the near beginning of the game so it’s easy to make him a powerhouse. Plus it’s funny seeing the big berserker sprite assigned to a small child)

  2. Hawkeye from Blazing Sword (A bad|?+ with a great design and stats, as well as his own uni animations. Always worth a try)

  3. Garret from the Binding Blade (Always had a minor soft spot for this guy. Doesn’t have the best stats compared to others but he is somewhat enjoyable)

  4. Raphael from 3 Houses (very wholesome gym bro who just wants to provide for his sister. I can get behind that)

  5. Dart from Blazing Sword (an entertaining character with surprising ties to Wil and Rebecca. Plus he’s a pirate)

  6. Caspar from 3 Houses (a very earnest and straightforward guy just trying to navigate a complex world and make something of himself. Always had a soft spot for him)

  7. Alois from 3 Houses (Just a very fun guy to be around. Plus I always liked to imagine him stepping up to become an uncle or adoptive father figure to my character after losing Jeralt)

  8. Mustafa from Awakening (A very stand up guy who did not deserve his fate. By far the most memorable minor boss in the series)

  9. Charlotte from Fates (her supports are a lot more interesting than you’d probably expect first seeing her. Plus she can be strong in Conquest)

  10. The Great Gonzales from Binding Blade (a very sweet guy that didn’t deserve to be treated like a monster in universe. Plus he starts unwieldily but can be strong if you pick the A route and raise him a bit)

Some honorable mentions include Geese from the Binding Blade, Fargus from Blazing Sword, and Panette from Engage. Picking a most hated is actually tough because there’s so many generic bosses to choose. Maggie and Rose from Binding Blade because they can ruin a run if you’re not fast enough maybe?
