I'm on chapter 11 on FF XIII, but i saw Lightning Returns gameplay have clock system like Zelda Majora Mask, can i skip the game because i didn't like manage time for exploring? what about XIII-2 which people said less linear and best paradigm shift system rather previous one. I wanna buy the rest of this trilogy when discount. But after saw LR, i'm not sure if i like LR. While XIII-2 make me curious.

I'm just not sure which one. Does anyone else agree? It's kinda groovy 🕺 anyways thought some of y'all might enjoy.

I’ve been a Final Fantasy XIII fan for a couple years now but I started playing it on september 2025 since I thought my PC couldn’t run it, and I gotta say I enjoyed every second I played even though I had the graphics looking like a ps2 game and running at 30-40 fps

A month ago my PC got broken, and since I can’t afford a new one because I’m unemployed I gotta wait until I can play this masterpiece again.

What really hurts it’s I was almost done with the game and I already bought 13-2 and LR, so I feel I just spent money on something I won’t be playing at least for half a year 😭

ridiculous hes placed here i ignored him because hes so broken idk why they placed this guy here before the next cinematic and you dont have to fight him i ran past him doesnt feel like a mob i can beat at this level .

His health just keeps going up and I can't defeat him before he starts to heal. Ive already used up all my points I still can't defeat him.

i upgraded lightning gladiud sword should i upgrade other char sword too? or focus on lightning, im at chapter where i can pick my party

Pros
- Combat system is awesome. Really loved it, despite it being very different. The strategies with paradigm shifting and the class system upgrade trees were interesting.

Neutral
- Characters were solid, more interesting than FF12 at least. Loved Lightning and Fang the most.
- Plot was only decent at best. The ending was nice.

Cons
- Difficulty jumps were horrendous and unnatural, forced me to grind more than I’d like.
- The “hallway” level-design and “exploration” is maybe the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. God awful and horrific. No idea what they were thinking after having dungeons and open areas in FF12.

So my question is how is FF13-2 and FF13-3?

Are they better than FF13? Did they fix the issues with the level design at least?

Been playing all the Final Fantasy games I’d missed out on. Recently played FF6, FF8, FF12, and finally FF13 just now.

These are the three games I’m picking between for my next FF experience (I’ve played all the other mainline games already):

- FF13-2 + FF13-3
- FF14
- Strangers of Paradise

My feelings are very split on FF13, so I’m not sure whether to continue to the FF13 sequels or hold off for now.

I was too afraid to ask her back then why she did but yeah. Sorry if it's a low-effort post.
