Loved finally getting to see the Ronso homeland after hints all game. I can’t wait to see how they are involved the rest of the way. I can just tell they’ll show up again and Kimahri’s story will get even more fleshing out after I get through Mt. Gagazet!

Do they have a big part in X-2 as well?

Thought this might be useful for anyone struggling! Plus I'm very proud that I didn't use a guide for this gold trophy :)

I used the Creature Creator to capture Azi Dahaka with a Large Pod in Bevelle. I was going to level him up and release so that he becomes Bahamut for one of the trophies to get 99999 damage or 99 chain, as I was having difficulty with one of them, can't remember which.

When I started levelling him up in Via Infinito I used the Valiant Lustre Garment Grid for Moogle Cureja and Mascot which upped a lot of his stats and Ribbon as an auto-ability. Then I equipped him with Admantite for Auto-Wall and maxed out defenses, then a Speed Bracer for Auto Haste. He was able to beat the Mega Tonberry and most of the 80+ levels of Via Infinito fiends.

So when I got to level 100, I decided to let him have a go at the final boss. He has previously learned Damocles Photon as his own auto ability and learned Flare and Bated Breath from other fiends. I scrolled through all the items and accessories to see what I could feed him to add to his abilities. I gave him 2 pixie dust for the Auto-Life spell. He beat Paragon but I didn't realise you can't heal between Paragon and Trema so his MP was gone. I fixed by equipping Ragnarok for Spellspring and compensated with feeding 2 Speed Bracers for Auto-Haste. I kept Adamantite of course. I didn't realise that pressing R/L3 actually changed the monster's strategy for attack/defense, and I added Darkness as a skill but I couldn't get past Paragon so I unlearned it, as well as Damocles Photon as it wasn't as strong as Flare. Unfortunately he relearned the Photon attack in the battle again which slowed it down a bit. For good measure I gave him 2 Souls of Thasma for the magic booster to max that at 255 as well. It took about an hour and a half but it was beautiful to see it all succeed!

Of course I had to equip Iron Duke after the battle to give him his reward!

So I'm trying to capture the fiends in the Cavern and I swear every third encounter is a damn magic pot! It's so damn annoying because they serve no purpose! I'm sure if you SOMEHOW manage to correctly hit them and drop their hp to 0 you'll get a prize, but why are they so damn common?!

Sadly, I think I've run out of 'perfect' things to do in my file and my multi-month FFX playthrough is probably over...so I will memorialize it here. I didn't really plan on doing a perfect game from the start, but I just didn't want to put the game down.

Feel free to ask questions, tell me I did it wrong, tell me I'm nuts, express fawning amazement, ignore me completely: whatever you'd like!

• I of course got all celestial weapons at full power: lightning dodging was a bear this time around...but that's the easy stuff.
• I maxed the sphere grid (99,999 HP, 255 Luck, everything else maxed except Accuracy - partial - and Evasion). The idea was I'm not scared of Dark Ixion's counter occasionally hitting me (requires 290 Luck+Evasion to be certain); instead I like my characters to be able to hit each other with Firestrike weapons and Fire-absorbing armors to heal each other for 20-40K HP. Of course, you have to deal with counters and 20K (the non-critical damage amount) is a fairly lame heal, but still...I think it's more interesting than perfect safety from Dark Ixion.
  
• While maxing the sphere grid, I cleared every sphere and grouped the different types of spheres together to color code things: Luck in Rikku's tree, Magic in Lulu's, etc. I also made sure every path was used and glowing active (yes, even the branches to nowhere).
• I learned every overdrive mode for everyone. Yes, including Coward/escapes.
• I got 99 of every item. Yes, this is pretty neurotic of me and I'm surprised I went through with it. 99 Master Spheres (rare drops from Dark Yojimbo...while getting oodles of Break HP Limit/Ribbon armors), 99 Lvl 4 Key Spheres (stolen from Nemesis), 99 Luck/Fortune/Magic Spheres (Spherimorph/Earth Eater/Jumbo Flan), 99 Attribute Spheres (bribed from Maelspikes 1 at a time for $20M total), 99 Pendulums (defeat Neslug for 2), 99 Tetra Elementals (rare steal from Master Tonberries for 1), 99 Wings to Discovery (defeat Shinryu for 2), and many many others that were just about as fun as those I listed above. :)
• The $100-150M gil I needed to do this came partly from fighting in the Omega Ruins (getting $100K chests occasionally while fleeing to get Coward) but mostly from using Kottos drops to put SOS Regen on weapons and sell them...over and over again.
• I maxed out Blitzball. I taught Tidus and Wakka every skill (including the accursed Hi-Risk) and leveled the league up to lvl 99. I recruited Larbeight, Linna, Nav, Kiyuri, Ropp, Auda, and Nimrook, who I judge to be the best team...with Wakka in reserve.
• I taught all aeons all abilities.
• I learned all overdrive modes and used each of Rikku's to get them to show up on the list.
• I got all missable items, of course.
• I made sure Yuna tosses the ball to Tidus in Blitz Ace, as that feels right.

The only things I didn't do would be the things that are too repetitive for even me:

• Maxing aeon stats (although they are maxed outside of HP...and Yojimbo's pointless magic).
• Teach everyone in the blitzball league all abilities. I taught my squad all useful abilities with Tech Find, though.
• Max my gil at 999,999,999
• I have 99 Warp Spheres, but I stole them from Nemesis. I left the Omega Ruins chests pristine.

What did I learn doing this? Other than the depth of my neurosis, not a ton. Coward isn't TOO bad if you combine it with item/gil accumulation. Hi-Risk may or may not be more likely to get if you get into a fight after resetting but before opening the Blitzball screen to (maybe?) make the RNG consider more options. The undead flamethrower monks teach the Rook overdrive mode nicely after you cast Shell...and you can Pray at the same time to learn healer. I now know the fastest way to kill anything in the game...outside of Yojimbo. :)

And now you know.

Everyone gives Ubisoft and EA flack but Square Enix is absolutely toxic when it comes with the re-release of the re-release of the re-release. How many time do I have to buy the same game at full price T_T

And they know I will since it’s my favorite game of all time…

Is there any notable differences between the Japanese and English versions of the game, in terms of the story, characterization, etc.? I don't mean extra content like the Dark Aeons. I mean moments like Yuna telling Tidus, "Thank you" instead of "I love you" at the end.

And is it true that there was more party banter during battle in the original? I had heard that from somewhere but never got that confirmed.

Before I head to Bikanel for monster capture I was wondering if I had Auron use shooting star while equipped with Beastmaster, would it capture the fiend or no? Cause Sandworm is going to take a while if not

So I've spent the last three and a half hours doing some level grinding and capturing 10 areas of fiends. After I got all 10 I got Yojimbo and Anima and headed to Belgemine. I SOMEHOW, after over a DOZEN playthroughs, that I need to capture all the fiends on Gagazet in order to get the crown for the Sisters. Yevon damn it!

I can’t find this information anywhere. You’d think this is a basic option, but previous versions don’t have this options unless you use mods.

I'm playing this for the first time and can't get past the random encounters on the highbridge on the way to Seymour and kimari. They just kill my guys far too easily. Any specific ways to get past these mobs/kill them for AP?

Would you guys know that if I enter a battle while avoiding the 200 lightning strikes in a row, does it reset???

I have a simple Question for those who already own the new Switch 2 Version of the Game. Is there an Option to only change the spoken language? I realy want to play the Game with japanese Voices but english writing.

For that reason alone i would buy the Game again.

Am I the only one who feels like some of the weapons are a bit samey when it comes to their abilities?
