I was able to collect most of the spores. Some of the fronds already expelled their spores. Which the powder reminded me to collect them before they were all over the table.

They are under full spectrum grow lights 12 hours a day and get watered well weekly. All my others plants love it but my ferns keep crisping :((

I purchased this at the Friends Plant Sale awhile ago. It had said some sort of Asian fern. I think it may be a ghost fern, but unsure.

I unfortunately did not choose the correct soil and it became hydrophobic. I've since repotted with Mother Earth's Peat Performance Soil, added an overhead dim light and some granual slow release fertilizer. Praying to the plant gods it recovers.

I got this Australia tree fern that unfortunately didn’t work for the atrium I have. I am in zone 10b. I put it in a bigger pot about 4 weeks ago. It was originally in direct sun. I moved it under my covered patio. I have been watering it every other day or so. I water the soil and the trunk. But the older frawns keep browning. It growing out new frawns that seem to be doing well growing and still green. Is this just senescence of the older frowns or not? Any care tips or suggestions on improvement? Much appreciated!

I've had this fern for about 2 years, it took root in one of the flower pots i had outside and ive been taking care of it since then. Google says its a blue star fern, but the pictures online dont really match what I have. I live in flordia. Can anyone tell me what this fern is?

Hey all, still quite new to ferns and i’m hoping for some advice. Got this staghorn about 9 months ago. its grown a few inches and the shield frond in the photos appeared about 4 months ago.

Had it outside last week and it was raining a lot. the hanging basket it was in, which i thought was airy and with good drainage holes, the coco coir husk at the bottom was just holding onto moisture instead of letting it go. Anyway. That was dumb. I repotted, removed any rot I could see in the roots, rinsed the rootball, and just put the rootball onto some living sphagnum moss that i have readily available where I live in Canada. No soil at all. the shield frond is changing colour? it used to be green when it was growing. Is this normal or is this more similar to rot symptoms?

is the shield frond supposed to change colour like that? I know they mature and tan but this looks a little different? I keep the moss damp at most. Never soggy. and fluff it up once in a while. I give the whole plant a good soak like once a month. Dilute fertilizer as needed. Bright indirect southeast facing window all day. no pests, but i think when it was outside potentially some caterpillars or a bird ripped a tiny part of the big shield frond off, which is visible on the left-ish side. Any advice appreciated.

I am very new to having plants inside my home. I named him Bob and he hangs on a hook in my living room about 8 feet from the window- doesn’t get much light. I’ve tried watering from the bottom in a puppy pool outside, but I don’t think I let it sit long enough. So today I put him outside as it’s supposed to rain all day.

Husband is saying if I split it to repot it into two pots I will shock it and kill it.

How can I get it back to being a big healthy fern?

New fronds emerge from this fuzzy crown, while the old stipes remain in place. Over the years, they gradually form this dense, woolly center.

It was growing out of a rotting wooden bench at a nursery. Which incidentally has an unusually big fern collection. The staff kindly let me pick it up for curiosity's sake.

I tried using Google Lens, but every photo gets a wildly different answer to what this is. Not sure it's a fern at all.

The container he is in needs to be replaced or repaired, so I'd like to learn more about his species and needs before I attempt the repot.
