Question about watching series
Do I need to watch any of the other series of Fate before watching Fate Strange Fake? Or does it make sense on its own

The most memorable conversation Narita, the author of FSF, had with Nasu
What stood out to Narita the most from his discussions with Nasu was when Nasu checked Volume 2 of FSF. Regarding the line, “Each member of the Burial Agency is a natural disaster in their own right,” Narita was worried that he might have exaggerated too much, so he asked Nasu for confirmation. Nasu replied, “It’s fine! In the upcoming remake, Ciel can easily cause something on the level of a natural disaster, so there’s no contradiction with Hansa’s line.” Narita was only able to confirm this years later when Tsukihime A piece of blue glass moon was finally released. After playing it, he was amazed by Ciel’s strength, and the experience has remained memorable to him ever since. Frequent discussions about settings are what create compelling characters.

Discussion Thoughts on Fate/Strange Fake S1?
I really loved the animation and color palette of this show. However, I feel this season was a bit rushed. It seemed to me everything was happening so fast. There were some new interesting characters I would have loved a backstory like John Wingard, Francesca, Hercules, and that dead apostle.
Some scenes that shook me was when Flat was killed. That was one of my favorite characters. Then Tiné’s reaction to Gilgamesh’s death; animation there was so beautiful.
In general, the show had one of the best pieces of animation I’ve seen in a while but the story could use some pacing. I will give it a 7/10. Can’t wait for the next season tho.
What are your thoughts?

Can someone explain fate strange fake to me?
I got into this anime today and just finished the 13 episodes. I’m a bit confused as I also saw fate strange night. Is there another series to it? How did this anime start? If someone could explain it to me, I’d appreciate it

Discussion Fate Strange Fake: Best entry in the series already Spoiler
I've watched most of the Fate series, so I'm familiar with Shirou and crew, along with the Babylonia cast, although I do have to give Heavens Feel a second chance. Outside of Unlimited Bladeworks, the series has just a guilty pleasure of mine to watch ufotable animate sick fight scenes. Those Lancer fights in Stay Night we're chef's kiss along with most fights involving Gilgamesh. But stuff like the weird "master-servant" relationship between Fujimaru and Mash prevented me from taking the series too seriously. Just a fun tournament style romp with some interesting mythical characters.
But Strange Fake has really impressed me with how it's rewritten the playbook. It's like the series finally realized that it has unplumbed depths beyond "teen mage gets pulled into battle royale" and that the real juice is in mythological and historical egos colliding under pressure.
One of the reasons for this I think is that the Servants feel like they have agency rather than just being window dressing on a thin plot. I can think of at least three instances of this immediately, but probably almost every Master-Servant relationship is a two-way street. And beyond simple agency, the Servants all feel less like collectible archetypes and more like people with unfinished business. That element lends a kind of urgency and focus to them that I did not feel in past Fate entries.
Another positive aspect of Strange Fake is how it's subverted viewer expectations. Like Gilgamesh dying. Once that happened, I found myself thinking holy shit-- if this character bites it, anyone can get it. That sense of consequence and finality adds real weight to the story, and raises the stakes for what the different factions are fighting for, their motives, hidden information, alliances and betrayals.
Strange Fake has also been great about sharing the spotlight, so that the characters all feel like part of an ensemble performance rather than a scattershot blast of random people. I read that apparently Ryohogo Narita (Baccano! and Durarara!!) is probably to credit for all of this because his other stuff also feature the multiple moving pieces, absence of a clear protagonist, and everyone has their own agenda vibe that Strange Fake does.
Anyway that's it. Just wanted to shout out how impressed I was with this installment of the Fate series and my hopes that we get more entries like it down the line. Highly recommend to all.

Fake Strange Fake anime is disappointing. Spoiler
Disclaimer: I've only watched fate series anime and never read the LN or VN.
First of all, I have high hopes on this one because I like Heracles since fate stay night and I've enjoyed playing him in fate grand order ages ago. The first few episodes are good, but it went downhill after the Heracles vs Gilgamesh fight. Well, I guess I just wanna rant because I'm disappointed. Here are the reasons I think Fake Strange Fake is disappointing:
The 1v1 fights keep getting interrupted before it gets good.
Hyppolita shows up once and then never again, this one feels weird.
Watcher class feels out of place. So far, it is only a servant with recon ability which is weird for holy grail war. That means Sigma could easily die if other servants actually want to kill him.
Heracles once again not being his true self. In fate stay night, he was a berserker so it is understandable that he is full of rage and not being his true self. But now he is being brainwashed by command spells instead. Heracles got a chance to show his true personality in this series, but the story decided brainwashing him is better.
Enkidu not showing up on any fights (excluding the spar). It feels like a wasted potential.
Nobody is dueling with life on the line. Jack the Ripper and Heracles are the only exception.
Ishtar shutting off the gate of babylon feels like deus ex machina.
I dunno about anyone else. But for me, the battle choreography is not as good as other fate series such as fate zero, fate stay night, and fate apocrypha.
Sorry about the rant, I'm just disappointed and need a place to vent it all.
