Recommendations I’m just a guy with a crazy idea of opening a burger place, with my own style and I need a cool, kickass playlist of songs to add to the atmosphere. Any suggestions?
I do things differently around here.

Discussion Favorite messy (but great) albums
Lately I’ve been thinking about albums that have a sort of cutting room floor aesthetic that are less highly curated and more of a choppy, messy glimpse into a musician’s creative life. Initially started thinking of this based on the new Nirosta Steel album being compiled from over 40 years featuring different versions and audio fidelities.
These albums might have disparate aesthetics or “vibes” but come together to highlight a sort of visit to the studio of the musician. I feel like they can tend to be long double albums but I don’t feel like that’s necessarily the case.
What are some of your favorite “messy” albums?
Albums that have this aesthetic imo include:
The life of Pablo
The white album
Selected ambient works volume 2
Arthur Russell’s world of echo
Double nickel’s on the dime
Blonde

Discussion Which artist had the wildest transformation?
It's always bizarre to me how Jefferson Airplane, one of the leading bands of the 60's psychedelic movement, turned into Starship, the poster child of 80s corporate rock. It wasn't a complete Ship of Theseus moment either. Grace Slick sang lead vocals on "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" as well co-lead on "We Built This City" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".

Ny-Quil - AFI
Edit - I forgot about Never Wake Up - Sum 41 even though it's on the same album as Heart Attack, those dudes must be sleepy.

Discussion Artists who have influenced people more famous than themselves
Kesha - basically invented that "drunk 24/7 partygirl" genre of music INCLUDING BRAT
Charli xcx & sophie - influenced hyperpop which is one of the most discussed genres lately
Arca & björk - helped more experimental music go mainstream (eg, arca producing songs for kanye west and madonna)
