Toronto pre purchase autographs

On the website they are preselling the autograph and auto/selfie combo of the celebrity i want to meet the most, in the past i always did pro photo ops and paid in cash for autograph at table. How does it work for pre sale autographs? Set time ? priority over those paying cash at table, just a QR code i have to redeem at table or before going to table ?

Panel experiences?

I'll be going to Fanexpo (Toronto) for the first time and impulsively bought a ticket on Aug 29th for the Hobbit panel lol. I just wanted to ask you guys as a first-time-goer that what do people mainly do in panels, how long do they last and are they worth the money? Since I was planning to sell my panel ticket. But if I end up keeping my ticket, what are some advice? Thank you so much!

Fan Expo Refunds

I had purchased individual autographs for the hobbits for the Chicago expo, as well as a photo op. With the recent announcement of the Friday Backstage Pass, I've decided to go with that instead because of all that's included and getting all signatures at once. Which means I'm going to get the individual autos/photo refunded.

So my question is, is Leap good about getting back with refunds? I sent them an email with all the details they asked for. I think I'm just getting nervous with the refund deadline coming up in a couple days.

Update -- I'm happy to update that I received a response within 2 days and my refund was processed 🙂 Thanks all for the help!

Is Fan Expo Boston opening later this year?

Hello! I’m a regular con goer for anime Boston and I’ve been to fan expo Boston twice in the past. Although, I didn’t attend last year due to scheduling conflicts. Fortunately I had some time for it this year and was able to buy my ticket!

However I did notice something strange when looking at the schedule. The doors for fan expo open at 4pm on Friday.

Is that normal? Has that always been the case?

It’s been awhile since I’ve attended so I don’t remember (also I have terrible memory). I’m also used to other cons (AB and Katsucon) opening their doors sometime around 10am on fridays.

I just want to be able to schedule my day correctly :)

Quick edit: another reason why I can’t remember the start time is because last time I went I only attended on Saturday!

Travel decisons: To fly or to take the train from NY to Boston

Hi. Trying to figure out if to travel by train would be wise choice if there are any weather issues cause flights do get delayed or cancelled. There could be issues with the train too so...Anyone wanna give me some tips or advice?

This travel situation is for Fan Expo Boston in August.

Friday or Sunday (or both?) for Toronto con

Hi there,

I want to go to the Toronto convention to meet Jennifer English. It says she'll just be there Friday to Sunday, so I'm wondering what day is typically better for autographs (or are they about the same?). I know Saturday is busiest, but I can't go that day anyway.

I'd also like some time to go through the artist alley.... how long does it usually take to get through autograph lines?

Wondering if I should only go one day, or go two. Seems like buying two individual day passes is cheaper than buying a weekend pass? And is it worth it to get the badge mail-out service? I'm not sure how bad the admissions lines are these days, and I can't make the trip to Toronto to pick-up early.

Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate your help! I haven't been to Fanexpo Toronto in 7ish years, so I'm sure a lot has changed.

Is Saturday an okay day to go?

Hi! I've booked tickets for a Fan Expo on a Saturday. It's my first time going to a con, so I wanted to do a day where everything's happening, but now I'm worried it'll be too busy. Please help me stop second-guessing lol

Different admissions, same photo op?

Looking at going to the Expo in Orlando. I want to get one or two autographs and a group cast photo op. My partner only wants to be in the photo op. Can I buy a VIP admission and she a general admission ticket and we both be together in the same photo op line?

Family fan Expo Thursday or Friday?

Gifting my cousin and his family a family pass for fan Expo as the kids are big anime fans and been wanting to go since few years ago. Their parents are accompanying them but I'm wondering which day would be better?

Parents don't want the weekend - too crowded but would love to let the kids see some cosplayers and after shopping....

Always attended weekends so I'm not sure 😅

Thanks

Greg Capullo and Tom King Con Experience

I am going to Fan Expo Canada this year (My 2nd year, doing the Thursday and Friday) and I was wondering if anyone could speak on their experiences with these 2 creators.

Are their lines crazy? Last year I thought Marco Chechetto's line would be insane but it was totally fine.

Also if their rate is $10 a book on their rep's site, would they raise it in CAD? I don't remember what artists did last year for signatures, but I feel like $10 a book was standard.

4-Hobbit Autograph Package Question

I purchased the Hobbit Autograph package so I could get all four of them at the discounted price. Does anyone know if you are able to get Funkos signed with this Package? It's noted that the package includes (1) Standard Autograph from each of them but not sure if Funkos will be accepted as they are considered Premium items typically. Trying to complete my set at home!!

Follow up Question: Does anyone know if they are just selling Premium Autographs in person only at the Expos? I know John-Rhys Davies operates like this so wasn't sure. Thank you !

Hey everybody, my name is Kate. I will be one of the Artist at fan expo in Chicago 2026. We will be doing live special Effects, Makeup and Body, painting, prosthetics, etc. in the lobby for you all to come and see as well as learn how to do yourself. This is a free section for you just to come and enjoy. But I would like to know what you would like to see? Can you throw me some of your favorite characters you’d like to see recreated? . I’m going to attach some photos of things we’ve done before but not for fan expo just Halloween and other events.

Do autograph tickets count for admission?

I am going to Fanexpo Toronto, this is my first ever convention. I just bought an autograph ticket and was wonder if this counts for admiration. Can I get into the convention with just this ticket? Or do I have to buy admission on top of that?

Is it worth going alone?

Hey y'all I think the title is pretty self explanatory but I'm debating on whether or not to attend Boston Fan Expo this year or if it wouldn't be worth it going alone? This is usually an event I'd go with my now ex gf (we went last year) and since it's so last minute, my friends who would be interested in this sorta stuff can't make it. Idk maybe I'm overthinking it as I'm not the type to strike up conversations with strangers. Any advice?

are business cards from cosplayers considered rude?

hi! I'm a cosplayer, and as we all know, conventions can be busy and socializing isn't always the easiest.

I've been long considering making "business cards" for my social media, to make it easier to network and connect with people. I feel like its easy and comfortable, as supposed to the awkward username trade. it also helps keep off the phone aside from photos.

that being said, I'm worried that it will come off as rude or unfriendly. I'd much rather people feel connected and want to be friends, as I am definitely looking for local cosplayer friends. I don't see anything wrong with my card idea, and I wouldn't feel slighted if I received a socials card, but I'm neurodivergent and I don't know how others would perceive it. I even considered putting a note or disclaimer on the card like "sorry for being awkward lol".

idk what do you guys think? how would you feel if you spoke to a cosplayer and they handed you that afterwards?

for context, I've been going to conventions for years. however, I've only ever gotten business cards from actual businesses or photographers. wanted to get a general opinion.

Canadian here does anyone know if the autograph and photo website Leap accepts prepaid visa cards?

Just trying to find out of the site you buy photos through can take prepaid cards or not. I tried looking through the common questions but to no avail.

I just like to budget well and prepaid cards help me do it but don't want to sink a bunch of cash into a card if it won't work.
