Reddit has been rolling out "You must be logged in to use Old Reddt." I know RES has options for custom CSS.

I'm not skilled at all to create it & wondered if anyone here has created or found CSS to recreate the old.reddit.com design.

I have been using RES for years, but I didn't know that I could use it to filter out words I don't want to see.

Filtering out all the political posts in subreddits that aren't inherently political has made Reddit much more enjoyable.

When using the friends function, is it reddit-account specific?

Is there any way to make it global?

I swear I've turned off all settings that mention mutli-reddit or sidebar and it's still there and it annoys the hell out of me. What setting turns this off?

The wheels are coming off my current installation with several functions being broken, including backups.

I know there were other ways to do it before it was implemented natively into RES. Any of them that still work in 2026 on Windows 11? I tried the ones from here and none worked for me but I also can't seem to find the raw storage described here.

As of today on Firefox mobile I'm seeing a (massive) comment box on posts now. It takes up the majority of the screen and it's driving me crazy.

It looks like this "feature" has been trialed by Reddit in the past and again recently, is there an option to disable it?

Is there a way to hide this completely? (I'm on the iOS Reddit app btw) The animation really bothers me and I find it extremely disruptive/distracting/overstimulating/completely unnecessary tbh

I have already enabled Reddit's 'reduce motion' feature, but I'm still getting this thing moving at the too of my screen

anyone know how to get rid of that?

Hey, so I'm not sure when it happened but as we just got an update, I'm gonna say it was around that time...

My chat icon in the upper-right corner is missing. The mail icon, which is usually next to it, is still there.
But now when I get a chat (which is Reddit's version of messages/mail now), I don't know.

Anyone else having this issue?

On my desktop it already does this, but I just got a new laptop and I cannot for the life of me figure out where the option is to always open the comments in a new tab.

Smaller screen and one monitor make this necessary on the laptop right now and I've tried and toggled 3-5 options between RES and reddit preferences and nothing seems to work.

Normally it wouldn't bother me because I'd have a mouse with a middle button but I don't have that on the laptop.

Anyway, please help me find peace with this.

Specifically Notion AI. I've tried a bunch of different phrases ("AI", "ai", " ai ", "Notion%2BAI", "/ ai */i", "/^(AI)/i", "Notion AI", "notion AI", ":ai: Notion AI", ":ai:+Notion+AI") and NOTHING seems to work. Any help figuring out how to hide these posts would be gladly appreciated!

I use night mode to save my eyes at least a bit from staring at screens all day. Recently, navigating links within reddit results in a bright white flash as it loads to the next page. Not sure if it's night mode failing to the default white for a split second or what.

Update: It seems to be only when using old reddit. I'm just used to closing my eyes when I click a link now. Oh well.

Anyone else having this issue? Starting today trying to switch accounts causes a popup stating

"Could not switch accounts. Reddit may be under heavy load. Please try again in a few moments."

The account switcher is the main feature I use RES for so I'm hoping it isn't a big issue. I'll edit this post if it starts working suddenly.

What's up?

When a video auto-loops the player hangs before resuming 3-4 secs into the video. The practical upshot is the first 3-4 secs of the video are cut. If the video is shorter than that 3-4 sec duration all you see is the initial frame before it loops around (and hangs) again.

Disabling 'loop' from the player menu allows me to re-play the video from the beginning repeatedly. So it seems to be related to the loop feature.

Similarly, disabling RES and using the default Reddit video player allows me to re-play videos from the beginning.

Where does it happen?

Doesn't seem to be related to a particular subreddit or video host. I see it happen with videos, for example, in the /r/whatcouldgowrong sub.

Which worked for the last 2 years. For about a week now they're back.

Any way to fix it with a different method?

Cause old reddit opened pages in a way that the pictures included came in saveable JPG format often instead of WebP-image that most often appear in new reddit that i cant get rid of.

And i cannot install this package since its not compatible with old Firefox 115.37 (64-bit) or older Chrome versions any longer for some reason, and i must use the old versions since i use Win 7 (54-bit) and will never adapt to my contemporary-timeline and change OS so there must be some other way toy manipulate the browser that make reddit open saveable jpg picturelinks
