Finally!! Full custom build- all made by hand
READ FOR THE FULL BUILD STORY🤙
I finally finished this project. I originally just did the lettering, under the impression that a glass shop could cut down this window(originally a double pane sealed unit) my friend found littered in the desert.
That is when I found out that tempered glass can't simply be cut to size.
So I went on the mission of designing the addition that would balance the letters, without looking corny. Of course 33"x30" wouldn't have been a cheap custom lighted frame. So I built it myself, from home depot roofing materials. Bent it down into a channel, and fit 2 plexiglass strips for the side supports. Wired in the lighting from a couple AutoZone interior lights I had laying around, then glued it all together.
Altogether this entire ensemble cost me around $40. It's meant to advertise my skill set with a local auto shop. I never meant for it to take me 2 and a half months but here we are!!
Hand engraved with a Dremel on fully tempered glass, my first time building a frame of any capacity. First time soldering an electronic like this. It's so dope to make as it combined multiple (usually) irrelevant/odd skills I've come to have at 29 years old 🥴

Cute cat
galleryI started with black and white, which caused the tail to turncompletely black. I only switched to grayscale halfwaythrough the sculpting. Fortunately, the details weren'tcompletely ruined. However, I discovered that I could useoverlay sculpting. I first applied a low-probability black andwhite layer, then a high-probability grayscale layer. Maybethat would be better? I'll try that next time.

Hand Engraved Hydro flask
I love engraving hydro flasks and stanleys, particularly fond of how the silver metallic surface shines through the paint and gives a subtle sheen to the engraving!

Graver handles
Evening all,
Could anyone share with me where you purchase your graver handles that are large enough to fit well snug in palm of your hand. I have bought 2 sets so far.
One from Amazon and other from ebay and both are to small.

Middle East style art dagger we just finished — 24k gold plating, Damascus blade by Noblie Custom Knives
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This was a private commission that took quite a while to complete. Curved Damascus blade, fittings and scabbard plated in 24k gold, hand engraving throughout, and gemstones set across the scabbard and handle.
The engraving pattern follows traditional Middle Eastern ornament — that was the client's main request, so we studied a lot of historical jambiya and khanjar references before starting. The blade pattern came out with a nice flowing grain that unfortunately gets a bit lost next to all the gold in video.

Engraver not working
Hi! I got this Resparked engraver for Xmas 25 and u have only used it a couple times and now it is no longer turning on. When I plug it in, the battery icon displays on the screen to indicate active charging, but when I unplug it and click the button…bupkis…nada. I even tried the 5-click unlock, still nothing. I’ve tried blowing into it to see if maybe it’s jammed with debris, but no change. The rod still spins if I twist it, but not by itself.
Anybody experience this too? Am I just completely missing something or is this a paperweight now?

Another viking axe
galleryA little axe I made, engraving with a pneumatic engraver. Inspired by the mammen axe, the design was a lot of fun to engrave, albeit in some instances a bit challenging due to partial hardening of the axe in the front part. Fun stuff!

Hand Engraved Perfume bottles!
Some hand engraved bottles from a recent activation at Nordstrom! I love adding florals and simple line drawing illustrations to my bottles.
I use the Yoke Fellow nail artists drill for all of these and after engraving I added the Rub n Buff metallic wax to fill the engraved portion and that really makes the engravings pop and more visible.
I hope you like them!

How would I go about engraving this wooden globe?
Some neighbors were throwing this out and I really liked it. I feel like it would be really neat with the world map engraved onto it like a real globe (but less detail, maybe just the continents with notable capitals bulleted in.
I have this engraving pen (pic 2) but wouldn’t be opposed to taking it to an engraver if it’s something they can do and isn’t terribly expensive

Sharing what I learned after my first month with a laser engraver
I’ve been using my first laser engraver for a little over a month, and I’ve already made quite a few beginner mistakes. I thought I’d share a few things I wish I knew when I started:
Not spending enough time testing settings
I used to jump straight into projects without doing enough test grids. Different materials can react very differently, and finding the right power/speed settings can save a lot of wasted material. Not paying enough attention to material preparation
I didn’t realize how much cleaning, masking, and preparing the surface could affect the final result. A little extra preparation can make a huge difference in the quality of the engraving.Expecting the machine to do all the work
I quickly realized that a laser engraver is only a tool. Good results still require the right design, material choice, focus, settings, and lots of small adjustments along the way.
Still learning every day, but it has been a really fun journey so far.
