Had a 9h layover in Dubai at night so decided to get a free hotel by Dubai. From plane to hotel was super well aranged and smooth and very happy with how Emirates handled it. We were given a room in Le Meridien, which I didnt expect, as JW Marriott is usually given to First passenger. I don't complain however because Le Meridien is super close to the airport.

In the morning, we were picked up exactly as arranged, but then were left at the entry of the airport with no further follow up. Departure was from a bus gate and we didn't get much info... They insisted that we take a private bus. We had to wait until the end of boarding, then the bus departed so we boarded last while we actually wanted to board earlier. The departure from bus gates can therefore be improved for Emirates imo.

Emirates flight hasn’t taken off since 1am, all passengers seated in flight and can only take off at 5:20 am due to airplane restrictions.

I've flown Emirates a few times, and I'm obsessed with the fragrance onboard.

I know the Business Class amenity kit contains Bvlgari products, but I'm also curious about the scent used in the cabin itself.

- Which Bvlgari perfume is included in the Business Class kit?

- Does Emirates use a specific air freshener or signature cabin fragrance?

- If so, can I buy the same perfume or room freshener, or is there a close alternative?

As a hungry guy, just curious when do they start serving meals during the flight and how many meals there will be?

Recently we had a discriminatory/ racial experience with emirates. This was the worst experience we had on a flight. It all started with small minute issues till it reached blatant discrimination against Indians or people of color.

My background: I am an Indian and my wife is African American.

Here is my experience in depth. It starts with trivial issues which were ignored until it reached a stage where it became obvious.

On July 2, 2026, my wife, our three-month-old baby, and I traveled from New Delhi (DEL) to Seattle (SEA) via Dubai (DXB).
Having flown this exact route with Emirates previously and received excellent service, we were looking forward to this trip. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of this airline.

Below is a detailed account of the consecutive failures, lack of accountability, and blatant biases displayed by your team before and during our journey:

Un communicated Seat Reassignment
The poor experience began before we even boarded the aircraft. We had originally selected and secured seats 19J and 19K, ensuring we had a bassinet seat and an adjacent window seat. A few days prior to our flight, I logged into the Emirates app only to discover that our seats had been changed without any prior notification or consent.
We had been reassigned to Row 38, with one bassinet seat in the middle section and the other seat located across the aisle. Had I not proactively checked the app, my wife and I would have been separated while traveling with a three-month-old infant. I had to manually log in and find an available seat next to the new bassinet location so we could be seated together. There was absolutely zero communication from the airline regarding this change, demonstrating a complete lack of accountability and disregard for traveling families.

Repeated Exclusion from Infant Amenities 
On the first sector (DEL to DXB), the crew distributed toys to all parents traveling with babies and children, but deliberately bypassed us. Knowing this is a standard Emirates service (having received it on previous flights), we initially gave the crew the benefit of the doubt, assuming they somehow missed seeing our infant. They also failed to offer us the standard family picture on this leg.
However, the exact same "oversight" occurred on our second sector (DXB to SEA). We watched the crew hand baby amenity kits and toys to other families, yet we were ignored again. When I finally approached a crew member to ask about it, she handed me an amenity kit but no toys, stating she would "check" for one. She never returned, and no apologies were ever offered. This cannot be a simple oversight on back-to-back flights with entirely different crews; they clearly knew we had a baby, as they did take a family picture on the second leg.

Unresponsive and Dismissive Service 
The basic level of service on these flights was abysmal:
1. Ignored Call Buttons: We used the crew call light, which was entirely ignored until the system turned it off on its own.

2. Reading Light Malfunction: One of the reading lights in our row was stuck on for 13 to 14 hours. It was only turned off toward the end of the flight after I physically tracked down a crew member to complain, as the call button proved useless.

3. Hostile Demeanor: Getting the crew's attention was incredibly frustrating. They would make eye contact and purposefully ignore us. When forced to interact, they were unsmiling, discourteous, and spoke with straight, unbothered faces. They did it not just with us but also with some other people of color, as observed.

Blatant Discrimination and Racial Bias 
The most appalling part of the journey occurred toward the end of the second sector, involving an air hostess wearing glasses. I brought my baby’s milk bottle to the galley to be heated. The first crew member took it, set it aside, and completely ignored the request to put it in hot water.
While waiting with my three-month-old, the hostess with glasses entered and began tidying up. I said "excuse me" to get her attention, to which she responded with a visibly frustrated expression. She then attempted to hand the cold bottle back to me without a word. When I reiterated that it needed to be heated, she again said nothing, left the bottle on the counter, and made me continue waiting.
I was willing to attribute this to end-of-flight fatigue, despite the horrendous service thus far. However, moments later, a white male passenger approached the galley to ask for a soda. Immediately, the hostess with the glasses lit up with a welcoming smile, and two hostesses enthusiastically dropped what they were doing to serve him.
Right after this, an older Indian gentleman asked for water. The hostess’s expression instantly reverted to visible frustration—a drastic shift that anyone could clearly see. She offered no greeting and handed him the water in a manner that undeniably showcased a deep-rooted bias against Indians and people of color.

Conclusion 
If this were the behavior of a single crew member, I could assume it was an isolated, personal failing. However, the entire panel across these flights was unprofessional, culminating in the racially discriminatory behavior of the hostess with the glasses. I had the decency not to pull out my phone and record the crew without permission, though their behavior certainly warranted it.
We pay for our tickets with the expectation of equitable, high-quality service, not to be treated as second-class passengers based on our color or ethnicity. No airline is bigger than my pride in my country and my heritage. Because of this blatant racism, which seems culturally embedded in their current service standards, I do not intend to fly with Emirates again unless absolutely necessary.

7-10 years ago when Emirates A380 was landing there was a nice sweet English language duet song “come home” something like this in the lyrics. Anyone has the song title and artist name ? It was played after landing during taxiing.

Yesterday, my wife and three young kids (including a 9-month-old infant) flew EK from LGW to ISB via DXB. It was their very first time flying with Emirates—a airline we thought stood for premium quality. Instead, it turned into the absolute worst experience of their lives.

The nightmare started at London Gatwick:

• The flight was delayed by 2 hours, keeping everyone cooped up on the plane before even taxiing. Distressing with an infant, but we tried to stay positive.

Then came the total breakdown in Dubai (DXB):

• Scheduled departure to ISB: 03:30.
• Boarding completed: 04:00.
• Actual departure: 13:00 (A 9.5-HOUR DELAY).

They literally held passengers hostage inside the aircraft for 5.5 straight hours. "You cannot leave" was the only repeated response from the crew.

Inside that cabin, it was pure chaos and inhumanity:

• My 9-month-old was crying hysterically with zero support.
• My wife was on the verge of fainting from distress and exhaustion.
• The cabin crew completely ghosted the passengers—hiding away while mothers and children suffered.

After 5.5 hours locked in a metal tube, they finally let passengers off, only to tell them: "Next check-in/re-boarding starts in 3 hours." Zero empathy. Zero duty of care.

And here is my dilemma: I am booked on this exact same itinerary next week. I immediately tried to cancel my tickets online, but the system keeps throwing errors/blocking the option (I suspect a flood of cancellations is breaking their site).

• Has anyone successfully managed to cancel/refund online recently during these meltdowns?
• What are my options here?

I am terrified of putting my family—or myself—through this cruel treatment again. Any advice on how to force a cancellation or escalate this with Emirates would be hugely appreciated.

My mum is flying to Sydney with Emirates and has a** 9-hour layover in Dubai. She has severe anxiety, doesn’t speak English well, and I’m really worried about her managing such a long layover alone. She doesn’t have a physical disability, but she gets overwhelmed easily and I’m concerned she’ll get lost or panic.
Has anyone used **Marhaba Meet & Assist or Emirates wheelchair/special assistance for someone in a similar situation? Which would you recommend? Would someone help her through the airport, stay with her during the transfer, and make sure she gets to the correct gate after such a long layover?

I’m flying Economy and was wondering what are the usual hotels Emirates offers for economy passengers? From what I heard it’s a 2-3 star hotel (pls correct me if I’m wrong). I’ve asked them and they still haven’t confirmed. I do appreciate that there’s still some time for the flight.

Travelling as a family with three young children. All of us are British passport holders except one family member, who holds a Pakistani passport.

We qualified for Emirates Dubai Connect because of our 22-hour layover, but the UAE transit visa for the Pakistani passport holder was refused without any explanation. As a result, we had no choice but to pay a significant amount at the last minute to change our flights and reduce the transit time. I guess think twice to book Emirates from now on.

Is it still safe to travel via dubai airport ? My flight is on thursday evening and i am seeing reports of warnings for dubai and abu dhabi airport by Iran on youtube. I cannot completely recollect if it was a similar situation (in terms of warnings) the last time dubai airport was attacked.

Flying with wife + MLW and my mother and basically me and my wife are going for our honeymoon.

My overall question is what's the best strategy to try and ask for an upgrade, assuming flight won't be full.

Emirates customer support told my family they cannot return from Canada > Dubai > Tehran but they can travel from Canada > Dubai > Istanbul but there is no guarantee that they can actually get on board on the flight to Dubai because of their Iranian passports.

They further said we should go to airport in Canada before learning whether they can fly or not. So, we will not know beforehand!!

When I asked how have other passengers handled these return flights booked many months ago, the Emirates costumer support said they have no ideas and have no records about this (!!!unbelievable that they have not been briefed by the airline about this situation!!!). They also were as terse as possible and only replied with yes and no without offering any helpful solution.

Anyways, my family is stuck in this situation. Do you have any updated news if Iranians can have a transit in Dubai?
