Just looking for some advice.

My friend is doing a Master of Hospitality Management at ECU and got 38 in HOS6502 – Current Issues in Hospitality. During the final exam, he accidentally missed a question because it was on the back of the exam paper and didn't realize until the exam was over.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there any chance of getting a review, supplementary assessment, or any other option after a narrow fail?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I’ll be joining ecu civil engineering from second semester and during enrolment which was late, my timetable got so hectic it seems impossible to attend everything, so does anyone have any idea regarding which are the compulsory classes to attend. Do i have to attend all labs, tutorials and lectures?

After stumbling and half-assing halfway through an engineering degree, I found myself on Red Academic Status. After taking university seriously this semester I still managed to fail 2/3 subjects (Also did anyone else feel like they did incredibly well on the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing exam but fail it?). So consequently I have been excluded from my degree. I have asked for informal review of one exam I feel my result doesn’t match how I felt completing the exam (cope, let me be). Anyways, I can’t find any information relating to if I am suspended indefinitely or have to wait x amount of time. Would prefer not to have to completely restart a degree after getting 2.5yrs in my current one.

I’m really anxious at the moment and was hoping to get some honest advice from anyone who’s been through something similar or works at a university.

I’m a nursing student at an Australian university, and my academic progression is currently under consideration because I failed 3 units this semester. I also missed 2 deferred exam, which contributed to my results.

On top of that, I’ve been asked to attend an academic misconduct meeting. The email says they’re investigating whether I fabricated/falsified content in one of my assessments and they said it was a serious academic misconduct. They haven’t made a decision yet—they’ve just invited me to a meeting to hear my side and have asked me to bring drafts, notes, and anything that shows how I completed the assessment.

I also have 1 previous academic misconduct findings, which i got 0 for the assignment which is why I’m so worried.

I’m just trying to understand what the realistic outcomes are.

My questions are:

• Has anyone been in a similar situation?
• Is suspension or exclusion from the university a realistic possibility?
• Does the academic progression review get considered separately from the academic misconduct investigation?
• If you’ve been through an academic misconduct meeting, what was it like?

I’m extremely stressed and know no one here can predict what my university will decide. I’m just hoping to hear about other people’s experiences or any advice on how to prepare for the meeting.

Is there any postgrad paramedicine courses that allow those who don’t have an undergrad in paramedicine register?

I’m a brand new student starting Grad Cert in Mental Health this semester - course is delivered entirely online.
There are scheduled online tutorials once a week with a zoom link for attendance. Would these be mandatory?! I assumed it would be much more flexible.

If not mandatory I assume they will be recorded?

Love any insight from those who have experience.

It’s 14 years since I’ve been to uni, and the online student experience is a whole new world.

The result release page just says results are out "from Monday, 13 July." For those who've been through a couple of semesters- what does "from Monday" actually mean in practice?

Trying to work out whether it's worth refreshing SIMO at midnight or whether that's pointless and it's more of a morning/business-hours thing.

A few specific things I'm wondering:

• Do results usually appear overnight/early hours, or more like sometime Monday morning onwards?
• Do all your units update at once, or do they trickle in one at a time through the day? (I've got a few units and not sure if I'll see them together or spread out)
• Does it vary by School?

Fellow procrastinator and former ECU student here. I have a big boy job now which is lovely but I’ve been building a little tool that turns a big assignments (like the whole semester ones) into a day-by-day plans (it even works if you want to do it the day before like I used to). Free, just a side project, actually not even publicly accessible. This is why I need you.

3 people have trialled it so far for teaching, finance, and allied health and they’ve loved it, which is nice but not that useful to me. I’m all out of friends (yeh a whopping 3) to test it on and they’re too nice anyway, so I actually need people to tell me what’s shit or why they wouldn’t bother using it. Broken bits, confusing bits, stuff that just doesn’t work for how you actually work etc.

Looking for 5 people. Keen for different degrees to the ones I’ve already covered, but honestly anyone with a real assignment coming up works. No catch, nothing to offer you either, other than a finished assignment if it works for you. Broke boy project for now. I can DM you if you reply keen!

Yes, I already have my dSLR, and by extension, editing programs.
I am aware of drawing supplies, paper, paint, paint brushes etc etc.

I mean more in fact I don't want to be hit by the surprise, beginning of a subject get the "You need this $300 text book that we will only refer to once...".

Does anyone get a bit bewildered by the lack of feedback we are given with marking ? When you are paying a couple of thousand per unit and your assessor gives feedback like “good, few errors”. Can they at least expand on this ?

Two quick questions for anyone who's dealt with this at ECU.

1. Has anyone actually been offered a supplementary assessment after failing an exam? I know the criteria on paper (first 60 credit points, 45+, and it's the Panel's call), but I'm trying to get a feel for whether they really offer them in practice or if it's pretty rare. Postgrad experiences especially welcome.

2. If you failed a unit that's a prerequisite for later ones (which feeds into a few next Sem units), were you able to get a prereq waiver to take those next units while repeating it? Or did they all just get blocked until you passed?

Just checked my grades and thought of thr exam paper I had last week. I feel I might be short by 3-4 marks. I also checked assignment feedback and there were no comments in both assignments I did.

Am I still allowed to ask for feedback or a remarks on the assignment after a while?

This study aims to better understand experiences of autism assessment, diagnosis, and support among an underrepresented demographic, as well as factors that may influence access to support and wellbeing within Muslim communities.

To participate, you must:
- Be aged 18 years or older
- Identify as Muslim
- Have received a formal autism diagnosis
- Live in Australia

My coursemate and I are Honours students at Macquarie University, and we are currently recruiting participants for a research study exploring whether music listening may help reduce pain and stress in people living with chronic pelvic pain. We’re hoping this research can contribute, in a small way, to improving understanding and support in this area.

The study involves:
- Two online surveys (~30 minutes each; before and after the study)
- Creating two 20-minute playlists (one for high-pain days and one for low-pain days)
- Listening to your chosen playlist for 20 minutes a day over one week
- An optional 30-minute interview for selected participants
