Former Eau Claire Council President Emily Berge’s insurgent campaign in the 3rd CD • Wisconsin Examiner

“It’s not necessarily what, but it’s how. It’s how you show up,” Berge told the Wisconsin Examiner. “That’s what I learned on council. That’s why I ran for council. You know, it’s how you show up, how you lead. It’s about being a bridge between your constituents, city hall or D.C. I think that’s what people want.”

Hello, I am coming to visit this weekend. When I planned the trip I didn’t know Eaux Claire was happening this weekend I wanted to go visit the Paul Bunyan museum and the Chippewa valley museum yesterday I noticed it says it’s only open Friday to eaux claire attendees how are they checking this? Am I going to be able to go anyway?

Piano Photos in Chippewa Valley

My son is getting his senior photos done and he’s hoping to include some shots with a piano. He plays piano, and we tried tracking down an old baby grand to place outdoors in a field, but haven’t had any luck.

Does anyone know of unique or interesting piano locations around the Chippewa Valley?

Best places to paddle board?

Went on my new paddle board for my first time at mt. Simon today and it was fantastic. I'm looking for places including Eau Claire, Hallie, Chippewa, and Lake Wissota to add to my summer list.

Looking for diy music scene shows in the area

The title is pretty much it. I used to go to graham jams before they moved to mpls. Just wondering if there’s a scene in the area with local rock/metal stuff

Does anyone in EC have a dress I can either have for free or cheap or just borrow for one night? Has to be 1920s/ 1930s themed.

Hi, I am super poor until next Friday, but my friend got tickets for us to go to a party soon that requires attire from the flapper period. And I don’t have the money to buy anything so I’m hoping somebody out there can help me out. I might also post on the Facebook marketplace I don’t know. Thank you so much if anyone can do me a solid. I’d probably be a size medium? I am 55 and way like 130 or 140. Thank you so much in advance if anyone can help me out.
Also, I wrote this using voice texting so please don’t hate me if the grammar is off lol

Rebecca Cooke receives extension on financial disclosure, won't need to report finances until AFTER August 11th primary. Says voters can look to past years to see where her money came from. Is this the transparency we want from our elected officials?

First I'll say that we have a primary August 11th and if the voters choose Rebecca Cooke, I will support Rebecca Cooke. The priority is that we flip the seat from red to blue and hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable.

The way I see this race, this primary, this is Western and Central Wisconsin vs D.C.

I'm going to tell you all just a little story here. When I was thinking of running for Congress and I was being encouraged locally by folks to run for Congress they said, “Well you need to call people in D.C.” So I was like, “Okay.” And I remember I had them on the phone right here and they told me, “No, we don't want a primary.” They said, “We have our candidate.” And I remember arguing with them, “No, It's up to the voters.”

“Nope. She has the most money we want her. We don't want a primary.”

That's when I knew that this problem that we're in as a country is bigger than Derrick Van Orden, it's bigger than Trump.

We need a primary and when they told me that they didn't want a primary, that's when I knew I had to run. That was my deciding factor.

I understand, as a counselor, where that came from in the Democratic establishment. Because they were scared, right? After Trump was re-elected, it was crazy times. But I've learned as a counselor and on City Council that we don't make the best decisions out of fear.

I understand that they wanted it easy, right? They wanted one person that they could support and make it easy, but when is doing the right thing easy? When is fighting for democracy easy?

You all deserve a voice. They tried to take it away from you. People behind closed doors states away - they didn't want you to have a voice or a choice. And that's why I'm running. That is why I'm running.

It's not even about me. It's about you all. You deserve a fighter.

I feel the pressure every single day of them wanting me to drop, but I am not dropping. Because you deserve a voice. The whole point of a primary is so party bosses don't pick the Democratic nominee.

The 3rd Congressional District is a swing district in a swing state. Everyone in this room, we have so much power and it's up to you to take that power.

The D.C. establishment and insiders tried to take it away, but we're not going to let them.
