Election: is this how to door-knock?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So this guy Mike Coll knocked on my door the other day. I was super confused because when I opened up there was no one. There was a flyer on my handle and I saw this man walking away halfway up the street.
Then he shouted "call me if you have any questions" and kept walking.
Friends say he did the same to them and had it on video. What's the point if you won't even talk to people? Super weird.

Shared fence repair in Ajax when a neighbour can’t afford their portion
I’m keeping some details broad for privacy, but I’m mainly looking to hear how other people have handled this.
I’m in Ajax, and a shared fence was badly damaged during one of the recent windstorms. A contractor inspected it and said several posts are unstable and the affected section needs to be replaced.
The repair will cost roughly $5,000–$6,000, so each property’s portion would be a few thousand dollars. My insurance helped with my side, but my neighbour’s insurance declined their claim.
They’ve said they can’t afford their portion upfront.
The contractor is willing to work with them on a payment plan, and we’re trying to resolve it cooperatively, but it has been difficult to get a firm commitment or plan in place. The fence is also unstable, so it can’t be left indefinitely.
Has anyone in Ajax or Durham dealt with something similar? Did you arrange a payment plan, pay for the work and try to recover the money afterward, go through the Town, or ultimately cover more of the repair yourself?
Mostly looking for real experiences and what worked (or didn’t work) for you.
EDIT: the fence side is roughly 70’ and the quote is to replace the entire fence.

Recommendations for a good physio in Oshawa or Whitby
Hi everyone,
I dislocated my shoulder about 6 months ago and did physio for a few weeks, but stopped once I started feeling better. I’d now like to get back into it since I stopped too quickly in hindsight.
I’m a bit embarrassed to return to the same physiotherapist after disappearing, so I’m looking for recommendations for someone in Oshawa or Whitby. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Hyderabadi style chicken dum Biryani
Hey everyone,
I recently moved to Ajax from Montreal and I’m looking for solid biryani spot recommendations in Ajax or the broader Durham area.
Back in Montreal, my go-to spot was Hyderabadi Adda. What made them great was their portion-to-price ratio: I used to get 1 Single + 1 Regular Chicken Dum Biryani for around $27 total after tax (direct pickup). Between those two containers, it would easily feed 3 adults, with enough left over to eat the next day.
I’m looking for a place locally that gives that same kind of value—heavy containers, decent meat-to-rice ratio, and good authentic flavor (preferably Hyderabadi or heavy Pakistani-style Daigi) without hitting $35-$40+ for takeout.
Budget: $25 – $28 total after tax for enough food to feed 3 people.
I’ve heard of local spots like Biryani & Beyond, King’s Biryani, KarachiXpress, and Charminar, but I'd love to know which specific spot gives you the best bang for your buck on direct pickup orders.
Thanks

Illegal dumping
Someone keeps dumping their bagged dog shit onto my grandparents yard in whitby. Whoever is doing this is leaving the shit on the green hydro box in front of their house and it’s disgusting. the city said to put up a camera and that they can come clean up the shit but they can’t close off the hydro box area.
just wondering how common this issue is and am open to other suggestions.

Bowmanville-backup power and Internet suggestions
Recently moved to North Bowmanville and it seems that whenever mother nature sneezes hydro one goes offline and after a couple of hours so does Rogers. My suspicion is that their battery backup cannot sustain a longer runtime?
Just curious for folks who are with Bell fibe Internet if your experience is the same and any suggestions for a backup power supply that can power couple monitors with a laptop to get me through a work day?

What are your recommendations for Internet Providers?
I'm at the end of my contract with Roger's and do not want to renew.
Any recommendations on affordable internet providers?
(I've been recommended Freedom already, but I can't go with them because I'm not a mobile customer.)
Edit: Thank you all! Teksavvy and Ebox seem to be the leading comments, I'm going to check them out.
