Come for the bluegrass ending of Hungry Like the Wolf, stay for a raucous, bawdy, raw version of Rio.

Absolutely blown away.. and the backup singer Lamya has since passed on but she steals the show on Come Undone.

Terribly saddened to hear on last night’s episode of WHOOOSH (Simon and Katy Krassner’s weekly radio show on SiriusXM) that it would be the last of the weekly episodes and they’re moving to monthly.

I wasn’t clear if that was their decision or something that came from SiriusXM, but damn, I’m gonna miss the weekly episodes. The wonderful and eclectic curated playlists each week really help me (GenXer) discover new (and new-to-me) music that I like, without sifting through only what’s popular.

I know they reiterated that the show wasn’t going away, but yesterday’s episode felt too much like goodbye.

I was watching and old episode of The Price is Right, and for the opening floor bid was this print from an art gallery in San Francisco.

Not 100% sure of the year.

I traveled 15 hours by bus and waited 7 hours prior to gates opening but it was worth every second. Team barricades for the win!! I took my “Greatest” vinyl with me but sadly they were quite far and didn’t sign or even throw anything, which was kind of a bummer. Still, it’s a night I’ll never forget especially hearing The Chauffeur live which I didn’t know was on the setlist. I hope they’ll visit Turkey next time!!!

In a different timeline, the Liberty era was a success. Violence of Summer and Serious did well on the charts and we got a third single of My Antarctica. If we did get a Liberty tour, what would be your setlist?

I'd like to know more about what he used on DD's '80s albums? I'm aware that early on, he used a Yamaha SG model, and I assume that's what he used both the debut and Rio. I'm guessing that Seven the Ragged Tiger was a Schecter Tele that he used quite a lot during their heyday, and he probably used that on some of the songs they did with him later on. Is that all he used? Are there any guitars that he used in the studio in the '80s that he never used live?

i've got a set of roger's TAMA drums from 1983. they were sold at an auction in 2008. this was a set that was played live during the RAGGED TIGER tour. (i have all the provenance from the sale, and it was quite well documented at the time. so it's totally legit)

i've been considering selling them as they've been sitting in cases in my closet for ages. my main kit is a now a roland electric kit.

i wonder if that is the sort of thing anyone here might be interested in buying?

do any of you own any duran instruments or gear of any kind? i guess collecting that sort of thing is pretty specialized, as stuff doesn't come up for sale too often and tends to be a bit pricey!

This saved magazine page was misplaced and mixed in with a folder full of KISS stuff. 😸😸 From the January 1982 issue of 16 Magazine (when I was 4 months shy of turning 16 😁😸), which I noted by hand at the time since I otherwise did not keep the full issue. I remember being *so excited* when I saw this because info on the band was near impossible to come by in domestic (U.S.) magazines at that time....they were still basically unknown here. I wrote a letter to 16, openly thanking them for the coverage, and they ended up printing it in a later issue. I am certain I kept that clipping ~ I just need to find it. 😸 AND, if that RockLine! header logo looks familiar, it is because this feature is what eventually spawned it's own magazine.

As crystal tears could well have fallen, and fatal sounds of broken dreams were never experienced live, suddenly BST HYDE PARK created an eleventh-hour phoenix from the flames moment when Duran Duran headlined on Sunday July 5th in London's famed park!

Duran Duran are a stunning band live. A Friday in Glastonbury needs to give them some serious thought immediately. With a two hour set and no guarantee that 'A View to a Kill' will make the cut, suddenly - and with zero camera notice, hence the 'hand-held reportage' - Simon Le Bon and his BOND '85 agents launched Roger Moore's 1980s anthem as their second number. It brought the park down and left one happy bullet catcher frozen with Bond musical joy.

Duran Duran are very important to BOND, QUEER BOND - THE FABULOUS OTHER HISTORY OF A SPY. It was an extra special touch when Le Bon gave a heartfelt shout out to their LGBTQ fans and audiences.

With Is There Something I Should Know? having released as a stand-alone single between Rio and Seven and the Ragged Tiger, it was re-released on the deluxe version of SatRT. Having that said, it feels like a song that would've fit very well on the original album. I maybe would've placed it either right after New Moon on Monday or right after Union of the Snake. Where would you all put the song if it was on the OG album?
