Hey guys! I saw this video on TikTok where a girl was talking about her obsession with Supernatural. She showed this book, and I knew there was a fanfic on AO3, but I had no idea there was a paperback version of it. Now I really NEED it. 😔 If anyone knows where I can buy it, please tell me :)

I am currently at season 13 (first time watcher, new to fandom) and there are so much of missing destiel scenes / gaps that its tough to keep watching.

Can you please recommend in-canon or fix-it fanfics that helps me get through these days. Not necessarily up to season 13, I mean any season/overall/ or even season by season fix. Best option would be- slowburn, angst with that witty Dean dialogues and banter

I’m looking for some lesser known canonverse fics to read. Any word count is fine, though i always love a good long story. I feel like i’ve read so many that there are ones that I have to be missing.

I don’t read AUs, unfortunately. I’m also not really a sabriel/samifer fan, so i’d prefer there not be any of those pairings.

A fic where Dean is either in a relationship w or simply in love w Cas but Sam assumes its some girl and dean just lies to go along w it.

Its got hilarity, its got Nosy!Sam, its got Dean using the fake woman to express his real feelings....why is this not a popular trope?!?

It’s set like after Cas gets his grace back after he was human, I remember it starts with him leaving a motel during the night while the winchesters are asleep and he goes to help homeless people. He keeps helping homeless people, around the area during cases, at shelters etc, and he struggles with panic attacks, sh, ptsd etc that he keeps from Sam and Dean. They eventually find out and try and help him or smth. I’ve been looking for this fic but can’t find it, I’d love to read it again, any help is appreciated.

I read a fic awhile ago probably not that long ago actually lol I want to reread it but I only remember the ending. It was a fic having to do with time travel and Dean just before the show starts. Cas goes back in time and spends time with this Dean. The ending is something like Cas interacts with John and gives him a lead on Azazel so it’ll make John leave so he’ll stop inflicting misery and pain on Dean.

Soo.... the fic from what I rmb was about after Cas returns from the Empty after the whole confession, etc.... Dean cannot stop touching Cas.
Like there was this scene in it, where Dean was touching or wanting to touch Cas, Sam was there too, they were all in the Dean Cave watching something. Sam said something or so, and Dean starts to freak out. Cas helps him through it while Sam leaves the room.

I've really wanting to read it again but couldn't find it no matter how hard I tried.
Could someone please tell me if they know this fic on AO3?

Sorry I know this is not Destiel question but the main sub is supertoxic and I am a Destieller, so thought to check with you all as this is my fam.

I am just watching episode 11, the part with Amara and Dean in hell. It really really made me super uncomfortable. Did anyone else get the same cringe feel? ( I am watching for the first time and new to fanlore too, sorry if this has already been discussed).

Cas seemed to have immediately suspected that Dean was not telling the whole truth?, that means there WAS something Dean was feeling guilty about?

Edited to add this- I could also sense that the actor himself was probably not comfortable playing that scene since his facial expression lacked any of his signature micro expressions that I love. It was controlled one-expression only kind of a scene, which made me think Jensen himself couldn't get into the scene? I think it's more of a writer's problem because s11 early episodes have other stories with adult-child creepy tones?. For instance the misunderstood pedo ghost episode, the "friendly" adult imaginary friends episode etc? (It would have made more sense to depict same-age imaginary friends as that's the more likely possibility even within a fictional world)

hi, i’ve never posted here but i’ve been thinking about this fic for years with no luck finding it. i wanted to see if anyone else remembers what i’m talking about.

a few years ago (maybe 2-4 years ago) i read a destiel horror fic on ao3 where sam and dean were exploring a cave for a case or something. iirc people were disappearing in or nearby the cave, which is why they needed to search it. for some reason cas had to go with them (or just wanted to), but as the cave narrowed he was getting anxious and kept repeating things like “i can’t fit” or “i don’t fit”. as the fic progressed it became clear that people were disappearing because angels were ripping open human bodies and trying to physically enter their chest cavity/ribcage as a forced replacement for regular possession. it was very claustrophobic and i remember it having a scary/sad ending.

if anyone knows anything about this please let me know . i remember being so uncomfortable reading it and ive scrolled ao3 for hours trying to find it with no luck no matter what tag filter combo i use. im guessing it was deleted at some point but id love to know if anyone even remembers it or somehow has a PDF version saved i could read. thank you all anyway <3

i‘m looking for something more or less specific and it’s because of some personal experiences. i think it would be a bit helpful to read something that includes some comfort and healing scenes that i never got to experience yet.

so… i‘d love a fanfic where one of them has significant trauma around physical touch and/or sex. i‘m not just looking for a story where love magically fixes everything; i’d prefer something slow and realistic.

i‘m looking for things like:
- asking before touching
- noticing freezing or shutting down
- checking in often
- lots of gentleness, patience and emotional safety
- the traumatized character gradually learning that they don’t have to brace themselves all the time

and i actually do want eventual smut, but it has to fit the story after a long build-up of trust, consent and emotional safety.

some angst, hurt/comfort, healing, lots of emotional depth and a slow burn would be amazing (so, preferably a longfic and not just a oneshot).

Received support/guidance which helped me to continue watching. Now I am at season 10 and have some queries, wanted to check-in with you all once more

Currently I am at season 10, Ep 9 and I can't help but notice one thing - there seems to have been a very conscious and deliberate attempt to have less scenes of Cas/Misha Collins since season 7 till even season 10?

Compared to seasons 5 and 6, there are so less noteworthy scenes for Misha Collins. In the early episodes of season 10, I watched cringey scenes with that female angel who tried to 'seduce(?) ' cas?? A lot of this looked like an attempt to de-popularise or reduce fandom for Cas character, as they seemed to be playing more in to the Crowley banter (which also I loved, it was delicious acting, no complaints) but the opposite was happening with Cas character I felt.

For me, as a first timer+binge watcher, it seems so obvious. How did fandom feel about this at the time? Even in the girls-school stage play episode they seemed to have kept Destiel or even just Cas reference to the barest minimum? For me, in my head Cas is like one of the leads, but Crowley got more screen time (loved the actor Mark Sheppard though, wonderful acting. He was the next best thing to look forward to)

If you have time in hand, can you post some insights into this please?

Just watching s12e19 and man its so obvious they slept together bcs lets go through this

1. Cas comes to Deans room, the mixtape exchange happens, we dont see what happens after.

2. Dean tells Sam the Colt was under his pillow and Cas took it BUT we never see him anywhere near the pillow. So umm what were they doing on the bed after the mixtape talk?

3. Dean looked so guilty when saying it was under his pillow.

4. Most obvious "Sam put a tracking app on your phone while you were fooling me" ummm so there was a point when Dean and Cas were in Deans room and Sam put the app on his phone?

5. Deans anger about he came into my room and fooled me, like he cant believe Cas would sleep w him for ulterior motives.
