Hi all. I recently came out as gender-diverse, and the very big possibility that I'm Transgender. I had to come out to my wife's family, who are very conservative Christians and live a "god centered life." Well, as someone who is a more Deist-leaning Agnostic, I don't live my life in such ways.
I am worried eventually that this is going to be a large problem, given the fact that whatever my journey leads to, I might eventually look different. Despite it going well so far, I am concerned my wife's family will not accept me because it doesn't fit into what their "god" and religion says. I am much more open, as I believe in a Deistic concept of god, and I keep all of that kind of stuff separate. Some of her family recently messaged my wife saying they are "worried about her soul." Yeah, okay.
I believe that if god exists, they aren't a micromanager, and aren't concerned with what we do, how we live in that regard, or who we love. I believe the ultimate truth whether a god exists or not is unknown, but most likely if they do, they exist in a capacity that is more akin to an observer, not someone who interferes.
Any advice?
