Viofo A329S (purchased bc of this subreddit!). The township website crimewatch report feature couldn't fit this clip, but they emailed me to follow up on my report and request it. I deliver pizza for a living so I might have a faster OODA loop than most, and locals have a habit of ignoring stop signs and speed limits. I'd also just gotten my brake systems fixed and maintained.

I've been reading through a lot of dash cam discussions, and one thing I've noticed is that everyone seems to have different priorities. Some people care most about video quality, while others value reliability, parking mode, GPS, or an easy-to-use app.

I'm curious what everyone here is actually using. What dash cam do you have, how long have you been using it, and what made you choose it in the first place? Has it lived up to your expectations, or is there something you wish it did better?

Black Mercedes runs red light 3-4 seconds after it turns green. Luckily no accidents! Yesterday I saw a school bus run the red pretty bad as well. Sad reality in Los Angeles

Truck and car were arguing over a merge a mile back. Motorcycle is incidental.

Edit...and for those that think I'm camping. You have no idea what's in front of me. Traffic was quite heavy and no where to go for anyone. For those in the know, this is east bound on I84 just after the 684 merge into CT.

Edit#2. For those that want the "front" view", this cam allows me to save a clip, and I did. It does, however overwrite the sim card with fresh vid over time, and in this case, it did. I had no idea just posting a clip of something that I thought was interesting would require me to PROVE that I wasn't left lane camping. LOL.

This is taken from a Viofo A229 two channel cam with the settings on high res. The only complaint I have is that in the intense summer heat, it's overheated a few times and shut down. That said, I would recommend this camera without reservation. It does come with a polarizing filter for the front cam but not the back.

This is my footage off my dash cam that I have specifically because of idiot people like the black car.

For context, I drive a van that is the same size as most of the Amazon delivery vans. It is significantly larger than this dude’s tiny little car. I was stopped at a red light in a turn lane, and I waited for the light to turn green before following through with the turn.

This waiting for the light to turn green apparently made the person behind me mad, who then whipped out to ride alongside me, wait for me to get behind them because I’m not in a rush and I’m not stupid enough to try and cut them off (even though they were originally behind me at the red light) and proceeds to brake check.

I believe they were going to try and do it again however I (behind the camera) gestured to my visible dash cam in the front window, at which point they swerve into the other lane then back and then speed up

So apparently, I’m not supposed to stop before turning in that intersection. I was not aware of this. That is totally my bad and it does put me in the wrong in that regard. Thank you to those of you who have pointed it out as I was not aware.

Still doesn’t make the brake checking okay, but it does explain what I thought was inexplicable road rage
