Just got into CE Meng program Online
Hi I just got into the online computer engineering masters program and am to start in Fall 2026. We take classes along with students in person. Would anyone who has been apart of the program be able to give insight on it whether in person or online. How they liked it, how classes went, favorite classes, most difficult classes, advice. Anything helps?

Dartmouth Finance/Investment Club Contact?
I recently developed an app for Investment Banking interview prep and wanted to share it with Dartmouth students free for a full year if they sign up for the beta before 7/31 (in a few weeks). No catch and no payment info required. Been trying to get in contact with Dartmouth finance/invesment club contacts but it's been tougher than I expected. We've already got 100 users in just 2 weeks (mostly Michigan, Georgetown, Harvard, Wharton) and would love to add Dartmouth students as well.
The app is a game that drills students with questions on key IB topics. The system is based on an ELO chess model, so a student's ranking dynamically changes with each answer they give. The key is that they can then compare themselves with peers at their school or students nationally.
If any Dartmouth kids want to sign up, they can find it on the web at https://superdayreps.com/.
If you are an alum and know of some students currently at Dartmouth or the MBA program at Tufts, feel free to pass it along.
Thanks everyone!

heteronormativity?
I have read some things about Dartmouth's heteronormative culture and was wondering if this rings true. is it any harder to get into a sorority or fraternity if you are gay? if so, is it harder to find your social footing in general? is there more homophobia than at other schools? I am not really interested in the Panarchy/alternative scene. Is this topic something to be concerned about?

Moped/Scooter folks on campus, where do you do repairs, tune ups, etc in the local area?
If you know a place or someone please recommend, include location.

Laundry situation?
Hello, incoming freshman here. What is the laundry situation looking like? Will i have to plan carefully in advance or are there enough machines? Answers for any houses are welcome in case other people are curious as well.

What one place should I eat at?
Hey everyone, looking for some help.
I’m a Yale student who lives in NH and I’m going to Baker-Berry for some research this week. I was hoping to eat lunch at a place that is quintessentially Dartmouth.
Yale has New Haven Pizza/ Yorkside; Harvard has Pinocchio’s; Princeton has Hoagie Haven… but I wasn’t able to find the* *Dartmouth place to eat.
Anyone able to help me out? Apologies if this is a basic question!
Thanks so much!

Gile House as a 30?
Hey all! I got my room assignment recently as an incoming 30 and it’s in Gile, which I couldn’t really find info on the experience of living in as a first year. It’s only newly a freshman dorm right? What’s it like to live there? I know some other dorms have instagram group chats so if anyone is aware of one for Gile let me know!

'25 here. I honestly regret going to Dartmouth. Ask me anything.
Don't want to take away any excitement from the incoming class, but a little over a year out from graduation...I don't look back super fondly on my 4 years at Dartmouth, and I wish there were things that I knew before attending.
For context, I'm not super sporty / outdoorsy but also am not exactly alternative, which left me feeling really left out of a lot of spaces on campus. I also didn't exactly realize how hard you had to try freshman fall to get into clubs. Sorority rush / society stuff was also really hard on me.
There were things I enjoyed about my 4 years, but I think my mental health suffered a lot of the time. Can't look back on the past too much, but hopefully I can pass on some information to others that I wish I had. Ask me anything!

French Dorm Feedback
Looking for feedback on French dorm. A little bummed about location as I love going to the gym and was hoping to ski a lot this winter but sounds like a hike to carry skis to the shuttle. Also bummed about lack of common/kitchen space on each floor. Do people in French typically make close friends in other dorms too? I met several people at admitted students day I felt a lot in common with but they are all in dorms closer to campus.

North Park House and Bildner
Can anyone tell me any information about this dorm and community. Is it quiet? Is there a sense of community? Is it far from campus? How are the amentities?

Selling my car before coming?
Hey all, I’m an incoming grad student at Dartmouth. I have a car and my little brother is looking to buy one, so I was thinking about selling mine to him. Is this a bad idea?
For more context, my program is only a one-year MA, so I would be planning on moving to a city after that. I also am trying my best to get my undergrad student loans payed off soon, and selling my car could put me in the position to pay it off fully by the end of next summer.
Given that I have housing in Hanover, could I make do for a year without a car here?

Any idea why Dartmouth doesn't allow ARM-based Windows laptops? Have any of you current students gotten away with having one?
Incoming engineering student here. I really don't want to see my 1-year-old laptop become useless to me so quickly.

Dartmouth Adventures in STEM demographic
I was just accepted in the DAS pre-orientation program. It is on behalf of the E. E. Just program, so I’m wondering if this program is actually meant for me. I had applied, but to be completely transparent I’m a straight white guy, and from what I’ve read it is more so targeted towards minorities in STEM. Should I still accept the spot or will I be out of place?

Rental available <10 minutes from campus
Hi all, I didn't see anything in the rules prohibiting this, but feel free to delete if not allowed! I have a decently large, partially furnished (bed, couch, coffee table, couple other small things) one bedroom apartment available for rent directly on the Green Line (direct route to campus). I currently have it listed on Zillow (https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4-Candlelight-Ter-White-River-Junction-VT-05001/303987900_zpid/?utm_campaign=zillowwebmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare), but would strongly prefer to rent to a Dartmouth grad/medical student.

Diversity and Greek Life
Hi! I’m a POC and i’m considering Dartmouth as one of my options (recruit). I really like the vibe of the campus and even tho i’m not typically an outdoorsy person I could see myself adjusting to the granola vibe.
Since Dartmouth is the least? diverse of the ivies i just wanted to hear how other poc felt about the pwi experience.
Also since im not gonna join greek life bc of sports does that really impact things socially?

Renovated Fayerweathers
Does anyone there for sophomore summer have any pics of the renovated Fayerweathers? Singles? bathrooms? amphitheater? library? Apologies and thanks in advance if anyone does and can post. I'm an overly excited mom whose kid will be there in the fall.

College Credit & Dartmouth
Few questions as an incoming freshman:
- They say they take some AP credit on entrance for certain scores on certain APs, and some of them are just used to waive classes. But then they say credit on entrance doesn't count towards graduation. So what the heck is the point of the credits?
- I took 2 classes at my state school in person(Calc 3 and Linear I). Can I transfer these for credit towards graduation? It's super ambiguous online because they only talk about this kind of stuff in the context of transfer applicants, which I am not.
- Let's say they do take college credits that were earned in-person for credit towards graduation. I also happened to take a few online classes through my CC. But they don't show up as "online" on my transcript--how would they know if I took them online or not?
I only care so much bc I want a BE in 4 years with a possible double major, so I want to maximize how many credits I can get for graduation.
