Ornstein and Smough is obviously the more iconic of the two but mechanics wise I feel like the Demon Prince is probably a superior fight

First playthrough btw

Spoiler warning (yeah, I know… after all these years 😅). But somehow I managed to avoid seeing this place until today, so thanks to everyone who kept the surprise alive.
I just finished my first playthrough of Dark Souls III, including both DLCs, and what an incredible journey it was.
Handing the Painter the blood of her uncle at the very end felt like the perfect closing note for the game. Such a beautiful, bittersweet ending.
I beat every boss except Midir. That’s my last challenge over the next few days before I finally move on to NG+. I’ll definitely replay it… probably sometime within the next year.
As for my FromSoftware ranking, Dark Souls III now sits right alongside Elden Ring as my favorite. After that I’d probably say Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Demon’s Souls.
What’s next? I’m still undecided. Maybe Dark Souls II, maybe Sekiro. Either way, I can’t wait.

My thoughts on this experience:

Nameless King is an extremely fun, fair, and standout fight in ds3, and this hitless run was very fun. It only took 3 attempts because ive done hitless attempts on Nameless King in the past, but it was a great experience nonetheless. Whats holding this bossfight back is the first phase. The camera is very annoying in the first phase, and the King of the Storm flying around kind of ruins the momentum. Its not bad, but its not great.

Overall rating: 9.2/10

(build at the beginning of the video. Also, I had Carthus Rouge because I was going to use it on his second phase, but i forgot lol. This run was done on base ng)

Finally I finished dark souls 3 . Forgot the record the last fight so I went back to my security camera to review and enjoy that last fight against soul of cinder. I finished the game around level 95 using a claymore upgraded at +10. Honestly I tried other weapons including Fume greatsword and no weapon gave me the same sensations as the moveset and feeling of the Claymore. I finished finally the whole game using it and even defeated the nameless king using it. Soul of cinder was gone in 6 tries I spent more time on Twin Princes and Nameless King (around 15 tries each). The game is really beautiful . I came here after finishing Sekiro . Cheers to you all ! Heading maybe to the DLCs after that after some rest maybe after summer vacation (hoping my muscle memory won’t fail me )

Did someone just invade me? AS A BOSS???? I swear the spear of church wasn’t like this on my previous playthrough. Crazy!! Can I do this as well as a player? Pretty cool!!

What all is there lore wise about the other countries? Is there anything involving war, trade, etc between eachother? Are they just as cursed as Lordran? Was Gwyn also ruler of them? I guess overall geopolitical state. Overall I'm just curious and may consider using the setting for a cursed realm in a Delta Green Campaign.

Former pyromancer, here. Wanted to try something else for dlc. Using sellsword winblades and lightning blade atm (also have done most of the main game content, including all npc quests and getting almost every item and spell). Anything I should be weary of? Thanks!

Currently running a pyro build for the first time with int/faith 45/45, demon scar/onyx blade (for fire resistant enemies), and the rings/spells listed on the picture. Currently enjoying the run so far but I feel like I’m missing something for more damage during boss fights or crowd control from time to time, any further recs to make the build more OP? Stat distribution/rings/spells? Should I switch out my weapons? I like to make the most OP builds that I can (previously enjoyed my winblades run!!)

Any input is appreciated!

Seriously tho this is at the corvian settlement big house next to the library, the door was closed and I was hitting the aggroed corvian knight through the door when he suddenly just ascended and got stuck up there inside the wall.

I honestly think it’s one of the best bosses I have ever fought. It’s one of the only bosses that truly made me feel like I’m fighting a colossal mystical monster instead of a monster looking thing with generic boss moves attached to it. It’s so chaotic but in a way that’s manageable, and in a way that punishes roll spam but rewards good spacing and stamina management. It’s the first time I actually felt like I’m using my brain and locking in instead of just spamming roll in this game. And it actually justifies 15 estus flasks, which is usually too overpowered. Actually took me 5 tries as opposed to first trying most of the bosses in the base game. Friede also took me 5 tries but her moveset is infuriating and doesn’t give me the same satisfaction. Probably a top 3 boss experience subjectively.

Goes without saying, I am constantly Embered, yes.

Recently during my first playthrough ever, I used to see lots and lots of Summoning Signs before boss rooms —but now I can't find anyone anymore, no matter the area and no matter the time of the day I play.

Is it because I am too high a level?
