Saw her again last night along East Bank.

Posted earlier this week without a clear pic. Saw her last night zipping along EBE. Checked out my previous video and got a better clip. Posting as an FYI as she rides daily along the waterfront. Thats it.

To the house near broadway that set up the bike lane sprinkler, thank you so so so much. That was amazing.

Signed, a dumb commuter who did not check the weather today and might have melted otherwise

It's easier to cross the willamette river than it is to cross chavez on bike.

Was thinking about this on my way back to the east side from downtown.

It's significantly easier: more pleasant with more opportunities, to cross the willamette river, all two million pounds of water rushing by each second, than it is to cross this one street. I am more concerned about my route planning home with respect to cesar chavez than anything except mt tabor.

Lincoln st is the only good crossing. Even ankeny at laurelhurst I have to sort of half ride into traffic to please ask for someone to take their eyes off running the yellow light at burnside to yield to the painted crossing. Everywhere else I'm taking a chance and playing frogger from a sidestreet or forced to ride on a busy throughfare without a bikelane to get the protection of a light.

Bike shop recommendations?

Hello fellow cyclists! I've been thinking about upgrading my Raleigh Cadent commuter for sometime now and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a bike shop or brands I should consider? I haven't bought a new bike in 15 years so I'm kinda out of the loop. Im looking for a low end road bike, mostly for commuting to work but also an occasional triathlon. I'm probably comfortable spending max $2,000. But would love to spend less. Are any shops known for having good sales or good used selections? I've seen a lot of Cannondales in my price range but wondering if that's even much better than what I have now? For bike shops, bonus points for locally owned/queer owned. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Parking bikes at Moda at night? Safe?

Got tickets to a game Wednesday evening and was thinking of riding with the family to Moda but wasn't sure what the bike parking situation is and if it's a safe place to park or if we have to worry about our bikes getting stolen. 2 ebikes, two street bikes, one is kind of a cool folding bike.

Have you done it?

My dude got into a bike wreck there and can’t remember it (we’re at the ER now and he seems pretty good). Did anyone see anything? Thanks!

Firelane 1 to Saltzman - Bad Idea?

I head out to NW Saltzman from NW St Helens on a regular basis and don’t love the 30. With that new parking lot, I’ve wondered if the firelane is a viable alternative.

I know that first pitch is brutal and I’d probably need to hike it, but curious on how the trail continues and where it connects to NW Saltzman. I’m guessing right by the gate but not sure.

Should I give it a shot or suck it up and stick with Dirty 30?

Beyond upset, I was going to go for a nice ride today and it was gone. Taken from inside a controlled access building.

Just had it tuned up and everything.

Planning to ride the Crown-Z and have gleaned reports that it's open except for a section near Vernonia closed for logging. Anyone have recent experiences? Thanks in advance!

New to Forest Park riding

Help me get the most out of Forest Park. I went today for the first time, parked up at Thurman and rode up Leif to FL1. It was quite a bit steeper than I had expected although I made through just fine.

A few questions:

- Is FL1 pretty indicative of steepness/difficulty of other FL trails?

- what are some of your personal favorite routes in Forest Park?

- riding out alone and away from others spooked me a bit (thinking about possibly cougars/animals) am I overthinking that or do you ever carry mace with you on rides?

- whats the rules on descending/ascending FL’s? Do you only ascend/descend specific #’s?

Got a new (old) bike

Mostly just wondering where everyone goes for bike repairs/ how much should I expect them to cost.

Just got a secondhand Trek, and the front derailleur is having trouble shifting up and down. And both the front and the back brakes don't have any tension at all. (This is my first time with disc brakes and a bike with gears or I'd attempt to fix it myself, though any and all tips are much appreciated)

(Edit for grammar)

LBS that sells brooks saddles?

ETA: got one at clever cycles!

anybody know of a local bike shop that sells Brooks saddles in person? Specifically the C67? Mine broke in a spectacular fashion on my ride last night and my spare saddle really did a number on me this morning! Unfortunately, I don’t think that the warranty repair is possible for me because I bought the original off of eBay and they don’t honor secondhand sales :(

Old hwy 30 + route to fire and ice loop?

hi ppl! I’m trying to figure out best route to get to the fire and ice loop in southern Washington. first of all any suggestions besides riding to cascade locks then heading north? am I missing some better options that would have me cross into Washington first then head east? thoughts on riding the 14? ass?

I rode to hood river on hw 30 in May and that required some segments on the 84, climbing landslides, and taking a shuttle. any updates on it’s current status? much love!

Portland to Cascades Amphitheater via bike?

Due to my extreme distaste for being in a cage, I’m curious if anyone has ever taken their bike from Portland to the Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington.

Ride with GPS instructs cruising down HWY 99, but I’m not a fan of riding down that and especially back in the dark after a show. Are there any other alternatives routes y’all have tried? I’m also open to multi-modal options.

Also - I can’t find any info regarding bike parking at the venue. Anyone know the status of where and how secure the bike parking is?

Thanks! ✨
