Discussion Bray road beast

So I am a FIRM believer in the existence of strange creatures out there including the Beast of Bray rd. In Wisconsin since its sightings stretch far back. However I have my doubts about this photo here for a few reasons.

  1. Look at the arms. The arms look almost bone like especially the right arm.

  2. The creature is said to be extremely fast and tall. In my opinion if it's fast it shouldn't have been possible to capture this image and it doesn't seem tall enough.

  3. It looks like bad taxidermy. I don't know why but my mind tells me this creature is some poorly made taxidermy they tried to pass off as the creature.

  4. The guy who took the photo in 2018 is no longer answering questions about it which is really weird to me.

  5. When I saw the photo it just didn't look right to me. For some reason the wolf just looks wrong and like it shouldn't be alive.

If you have any other reasons for why it looks staged or if you have reasons for believing it's real feel free to tell me.

Also I'm not sure if this is allowed here but I really want to talk about this photo with people.

Meme / Humor Important thing you must know. The hoop snake is real.

Dwarf reed snakes (Pseudorabdion longiceps) found in several parts of Southeast Asia do the hoop snake thing to escape from predators.

It is just as ridiculous as you are imagining.

Of all the cryptids that genuinely exist, two of them were coincidentally described in jokes.

(The other being jackelopes. Look up Shopes pappilomavirus if you aren't squeamish about superficial keratinous growths on lagomorphs. Yes, the same kind of virus as herpes. We got lucky, though the rabbit variant is also mostly benign.)

I am willing to bet money that someone finds a hairy fish someday.

Discussion I do believe in certain cryptids, but I don't think they are necessarily how they are described. So I wanted to talk about the few I do believe in.

Living dinosaurs/flying reptiles - I do believe some may still exist, but I do not believe they are the towering, giant behemoths we often think of in movies or hear in stories. Mokele mbembe, Thunderbirds, Kasai Rex, the Monster of Partidge Creek, etc. I doubt exist. If non-avian dinosaurs/flying reptiles still do exist, they are most likely going to be incredibly small, adaptable animal that are very secretive and live in the most obscure parts of the world we've yet to explore. Think less idnominus rex and more like compsognathus & Shuvuuia, Nemicolopterus crypticus, etc. Mostly because all the niches they could have once filled has been taken by birds and mammals, large, apex predators/herbivores are unlikely to exist.

Sasquatch/North American Primates - I used to be a big bigfoot fan and believer, but now a days I've subscribed to a new theory. More than likely, stories of sasquatch were born from interaction with neanderthals, and current encounters are most likely, atleast in the tropical/swampy areas, encounters with escape primates from private collections or zoo escapees. Monkeys currently live in the everglade, so a much smarter chimp, gorilla and/or orangatan would do just as well, if not better. My reasoning is simple, Forest Galante, when looking for the ivory billed woodpecker, found a lone water buffalo in the lousiana bayou, and let's not forget the Arizona "Red Ghost". If these large animals wh oescaped captivity can remain out of sight with no one looking for them (I mean, who is going to look for a buffalo in the baiyou or a camel wit ha corpse on it's back in Arizona), then it's possible that some of these bigfoots are possible escaped great apes.

Discussion So... Mothman isn't a moth? But a bird?

I'm sure everyone on this forum has already figured this out or deduced it lol, but I guess I'll start the conversation anyway because I want to hear your opinions.

The first mention of Mothman describes him as a human-sized bird and the West Virginia statue has a beak and eyes on the sides of its head not to mention that other cryptids that directly resemble Mothman, even those with different names, also have bird-like features, such as the owlman and the Chernobyl black bird.

Many people, seeking a more realistic explanation, say that Mothman was actually a black owl with red eyes. Why, when and how did people turn him into a moth?

I tried my best to make them look more realistic as I gave them little goofy arms like Abelisaurids as well as their eyes being more amphibian. (OC)

I'm from Pennsylvania. Everybody knows of the Jersey Devil, Sasquatch, Nessie, El Chupacabra and other species. What I myself was unaware of is Pennsylvania has the Sqounk.

So I guess I'm curious to know what y'all's home state cryptid is if you have one?

A few years ago I remember listening to a SC episode regarding a woman who's dogs were attacked by a reported dogman. Does anyone know which episode this is? Any help is appreciated.

Question i heard a strange ‘yahoo’ sound last night

hello! I live in Indiana and i’m currently living in southern indiana. This sound was something I had never heard before, and when looking for a logical explanation i could only find that prairie dogs make that noise… but i know we don’t have those guys over here.

So, I was wondering if any of you know of any cryptids that make this sound?

thank you!

Video Across North America come reports of massive creatures that resemble the believed extinct ground sloth. Could they have survived in the Northern hemisphere longer than fossil evidence shows?
