Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

Thoughts on Crystocrene Armor Set Bonus

Post image
52 Upvotes

What are everyone’s thoughts on Frost armor? This works on any class, but if you run Whisper of Rime, it’s even stronger on stasis kits.

The uptime of frost armor has to be roughly 80% of the time. Or course in a real match minimal time is spent out of combat, but once you build a few stacks it lasts a while and slowly decreases instead of all at once. You don’t even have to think about it, it’s just a free damage resist for doing nothing.

I am not sure how frost armor compares to resist. But since a lot of people run ferropotent armor, this is most comparable. However ferro, requires you to drain your health first and then you get the resist. With the frost armor you START the gunfight with it, which is arguably more beneficial.

The 2 piece is also a nice bonus, since it’s free orbs on 50% of kills or more. It also stands with reaper mod in class item. Many kills will drop 2 orbs. This means gaining super first. Which is very beneficial in comp or trials.

To summarize key points:

  1. Is frost armor capable of changing TTK values?
  2. How does frost armor compare to resist (ferropotent armor)?

Slice as a pvp perk

Upvotes

So I've heard slice is worth running to counter 3 taps from 140s and other damage resistance situations. Is it only worth running with hunter to proc it by dodging or is titan and warlock viable as well?

Disabled set bonuses? A list.

Does anyone have a full list of armour set bonuses that are currently disabled in PvP?

I understand Luminopotent is one of them, but I’ll await confirmation.

List what you know and I’ll amalgamate.

Cheers.

Advice for playing PK’s at a high level.

Post image
106 Upvotes

Hey all, first things first I finally was able to get the stats I’ve been chasing for so long.

Second, I’m looking for advice on playing PK titan at a high level. I’ve been practically exclusively maining this load out for years, but it seems to lag significantly behind more meta options in comp and trials nowadays. I’ve hit adept mostly solo queuing with this loadout but a combo of awful lobby balancing and just rough matches has basically had me at a standstill for a while. Not here to complain about that though.

Looking for tips from anyone who may also play PK titan at a high level. Meta load outs such as void hunter hand cannon shotty, and anything with a pulse rifle, are completely uninteresting to me, and I’m more interested in atleast having fun while the game still has people playing crucible. I feel as if PK titan is the best we titan mains have for the rest of time.

Thank you in advance would appreciate hearing what yall have to say !

How do You Prefer to Play Collision in Comp?

Upvotes

Assuming you have the option to rotate early and set up however you’d like, how do you think it’s best to play?

I have my own opinions but I’m also very open to being wrong.

Generally I find the best bet to cap a zone is to
Rotate early, set up by cover where you can cover multiple angles, and if the entire team does this it can be very hard to break through.

Usually though I’ll have a teammate, usually just one, who extends very far and engages the team solo. He dies, now it’s a 3v2 as they approach the zone.

My question is, would it be better to join that teammate and try and wipe the team early and relatively far from the zone?

Is it better for the entire team to set up near zone amd hold angles?

Is there another, maybe better approach?

Fractethyst vs Someday

Upvotes

I got very good roll on Fractethyst [ corckscrew+accurized + quickdraw+os ] and also just now have an opportunity to craft Someday.

My Fractetyst stats: Range: 85 / Stability: 66 / Handling: 51 / Reload: 60 unfortunately its stability masterwork :( i have quick access sling .

Will it be better with maybe 1 mod of dexterity or craft Someday .

Im using thrusters on prismatic titan and i want to keep apes at the distance and just use for quick defense.

I know Threat detectors is awesome, i have Matador 64 with threat and opening but most of the time i use energy hc.

Also, Fractethyst origin trait is very interesting as u inflict damage with subclass debug you gain handling and reload speed. Or threat detector is hands on better on Someday.

Ophidians + Per Audacia

Why do Ophidian Aspects make my weapons feel so crisp?

I know Ophidians improve handling, but I didn’t expect them to make my guns feel like absolute lasers. Is there something else going on besides the handling boost, or does higher handling simply make that much of a difference?

Also, Per Audacia feels noticeably better to me than Transversive Steps, and I’m not sure why. From what I understand, they’re supposed to provide similar movement speed and slide distance, but Per Audacia feels smoother and more responsive.

Lastly, what armor mods would you recommend for Ophidians in PvP? Right now, I’m running a melee Font mod, a grenade Font mod, and Fastball. Are there stronger or more useful combinations I should try?

Targeted redaction 2 taps

Focused fury and 130 weapons gives you 12 sec of 115 damage after landing 3 crits.
I’m able to run 180 health 130 weapons if I sacrifice super.
It plays like hawkmoon.

What’s considered the rarest Trials emblem in Destiny 2?

Post image
5 Upvotes

What’s considered the rarest Trials emblem in Destiny 2? I know it’s lighthouse keeper at 1% next one is at 6%. For destiny 2 final update this go down in history as one emblem that’s extremely rare but can still be gained in trials. Obviously win streak requirements most be hold back players from getting it.

What’s good right now?

I’ve been playing again recently but it’s kind of hard to find something I enjoy in crucible. I can find individual stuff but it’s hard to really put something together with all of the changes.

Right now I play hunter and I like the exotic hand cannons and purple pulse rifles a lot. I was also thinking about trying wish-ender. I’m mostly lost on specials and class stuff

Did they fix the titan diamond lance bug where you could launch it and slam into the ground at the same time?

I hadn’t played titan since the update but noticed that I could not do the “combo” anymore?

Invis Activation

I was playing Void Hunter with Graviton Forfeit and Gyrfalcon's Hauberk exotics. Whenever I activated invis there was no visual change in UI i.e. my hunter was fully visible from my pov. However when I activated Spectral Blades super I went full invisible. Does anyone else experience this? Do you have any recommendations to fix it?

I want to master DMT

Hi. I'm a solar warlock with mostly hand cannon. I have recently been looking for a change.

I have used the DMT for about a day, and it seems like a weapon with plenty of potential. It has unlimited range, allows for peek shots, and is decent at mid-range and close range. However, my performance isn't quite as good as when I used a hand cannon. I still lose a lot in close-range 1v1s. Perhaps because I am on console, it seems I need a long adaptation period to execute precise hip-fire with a controller. Achieving a 3-tap at close range is harder than I expected, and I usually get kills with 4 taps.

  1. As a Warlock, I am wondering which Exotic armor I should use. Since I have collected the entire Per Audacia set, I have a bit more freedom in choosing Exotic armor. I am curious if Lunafaction boots would be a big help, or if I should just wear the textbook Ophidian Aspect Gloves. Or are there any other build tips?

  2. I am wondering when to hip-fire and when to use ADS.

  3. I am wondering if there are any streamers who use the DMT well that I can refer to.

  4. Are there any other tips to keep in mind regarding DMT operation, such as playstyle?

Any competent team can hand hold and wait in spawn once they have the lead. How is this a demonstration of competitiveness?

Threaded Spike and Arcane Needle

Hi.
Is the damage the same between these two melee abilities in PVP. I know stats and exotics can change the damage, but I was wondering if they function the same way. Also, which exotics buff this melee both for Warlock and Hunter?
Thanks

Do targeting mods rly do anything?

I’ve played destiny pvp for years and I’ve always used targeting mods for my primary and special. But after coming back around 2 months ago when I heard about the Most updated, I’ve kinda stopped using them. Tbh with the amount of aim assist guns already have and handling stats. I haven’t felt the need. And I’m rly liking having double dynamo and special finder. I’m just wondering if I’m rly missing out on anything.

Mercurial Overreach or Beloved?

I have been sniping extensively with Beloved and have come to like it quite a bit. However, I have been passively grinding for a god roll of Mercurial Overreach while playing comp and am curious what the opinion is on these 2.

Which one of these do you feel is better to use? I know snipers are mainly feel based, but seeing these 2 and their stat packages makes me curious as to the general consensus on these snipers.

Does this trait work on PvP?

Post image

I know generally when mentions combatants it only refers to PVE, but there were perks and traits in the past that refer combatants too but worked in PVP
