Advice for playing PK’s at a high level.

Post image
60 Upvotes

Hey all, first things first I finally was able to get the stats I’ve been chasing for so long.

Second, I’m looking for advice on playing PK titan at a high level. I’ve been practically exclusively maining this load out for years, but it seems to lag significantly behind more meta options in comp and trials nowadays. I’ve hit adept mostly solo queuing with this loadout but a combo of awful lobby balancing and just rough matches has basically had me at a standstill for a while. Not here to complain about that though.

Looking for tips from anyone who may also play PK titan at a high level. Meta load outs such as void hunter hand cannon shotty, and anything with a pulse rifle, are completely uninteresting to me, and I’m more interested in atleast having fun while the game still has people playing crucible. I feel as if PK titan is the best we titan mains have for the rest of time.

Thank you in advance would appreciate hearing what yall have to say !

Targeted redaction 2 taps

Focused fury and 130 weapons gives you 12 sec of 115 damage after landing 3 crits.
I’m able to run 180 health 130 weapons if I sacrifice super.
It plays like hawkmoon.

Threaded Spike and Arcane Needle

Hi.
Is the damage the same between these two melee abilities in PVP. I know stats and exotics can change the damage, but I was wondering if they function the same way. Also, which exotics buff this melee both for Warlock and Hunter?
Thanks

Mercurial Overreach or Beloved?

I have been sniping extensively with Beloved and have come to like it quite a bit. However, I have been passively grinding for a god roll of Mercurial Overreach while playing comp and am curious what the opinion is on these 2.

Which one of these do you feel is better to use? I know snipers are mainly feel based, but seeing these 2 and their stat packages makes me curious as to the general consensus on these snipers.

Target lock on riposte

Wondering if TL does anything for ttk, or maybe if you run a certain weapons stat in addition? Or maybe just makes it more forgiving ie one less headshot for optimal ttk? Finally after many garbage rolls got a zen moment 100 recoil direction roll, second column is either target lock or kill clip. I generally prefer consistency perks over ones you have to get a kill and reload to earn and only temporarily then. TIA 🙏

What is with the obsession with Sliding?

I'm absolutely ignorant when it comes to meta and what's "most efficient" but every "godroll" I see has slideways or slide shot. And it's on literally everything. Any primary or special ammo weapon, people always use sliding.

I simply don't get why sliding is that important.

Does this trait work on PvP?

I know generally when mentions combatants it only refers to PVE, but there were perks and traits in the past that refer combatants too but worked in PVP

Do targeting mods rly do anything?

I’ve played destiny pvp for years and I’ve always used targeting mods for my primary and special. But after coming back around 2 months ago when I heard about the Most updated, I’ve kinda stopped using them. Tbh with the amount of aim assist guns already have and handling stats. I haven’t felt the need. And I’m rly liking having double dynamo and special finder. I’m just wondering if I’m rly missing out on anything.

Forced Memorializer Glaze Session

Post image
102 Upvotes

Since I’m nearing 500 kills with this roll between Control and Competitive, and seeing as Jade Rabbit is becoming meta-relevant, I thought I’d talk about it for a little bit. It took a bit of practice, but I’m really beginning to fall back in love with this stand-out scout.

Memorializer has that flexibility—like Mida-Multi Tool—that makes scouting feel tolerable and rewarding to me. It incentivizes mobility; an ebb and flow of poking into closer ranges with your secondary weapon or abilities, then backing out quickly and 3-tapping pursuers for a quick 0.67 TTK.

If you have a 118 Weapons stat, Memorializer can 3-tap at the first stage of Elemental Honing: Just a single hit with any element at all will give you 23 seconds of 3-taps. It 3-crits faster than Jade Rabbit’s 0.8 TTK, enough as I’ve found to come out on top in a lot of head-to-head encounters. 3x Elemental Honing or 2x and Radiant will allow for 2h1b kills.

While it does have an activation criteria similarly to Box Breathing 180’s, it isn’t anywhere near as exploitable and restrictive as that playstyle forces you to be, so it surpasses it by a mile in my eyes. It really is a closer quarters scout. Comparing it to Precision Instrument Rapid Fires though, particularly Voltaic Shade w/ Overclocked Heat Sink, it becomes harder to say this is flat-out better due to not having your prime TTK on opening engagement, but Memorializer does higher per-shot damage and has a higher damage ceiling depending on how many different elements you can run, which is conducive to teamplay and teamshotting.

I’m honestly kind of glad this thing never caught on because like many others I can barely stand Jade Rabbit’s 3-taps; it’s why I broke this back out of storage, to have something that can go toe-to-toe in that range. And with it being out of the loot pool and locked behind the tedious Vanguard rank-ups, being 3 whole Vanguard engrams for even a slim chance of a decent roll, I’m confident it never will. But it’s something that’s worth checking your vault or trying your luck for if you want to explore different avenues and play the rewarding mini-game of juggling and stacking Elemental Honing buffs.

I built two free tools for Destiny 2: Fireteam loadout roulette + Crucible head-to-head tracking

Built these for my own friend group and figured other players might get some use out of them too. It's been my passion project for a bit that I've put more time and money into than I'd care to admit.

Rerolled (rerolled.io) - sign in with Bungie, make a shared lobby with your fireteam, and a rotating "captain" rolls a 3-slot loadout (kinetic/energy/power) from the weapons everyone in the lobby actually owns. Enforces the obvious sandbox rules (one exotic, no double special). Draft mode if you'd rather pick-ban than random roll, and it'll transfer/equip with a button press as well. There's a lot of potential here for PvE as well, but I wanted to gauge interest in the PvP version first since that's what my friends and I currently use.

Homepage for Rerolled.io

Rival (rival.rerolled.io) - sign in and it pulls your match history to build a head-to-head record against every player you've faced, broken out by mode (Trials, Comp, Control, Iron Banner). Teammates never count as "opponents." Also has a leaderboard ranking opponents you've faced by their lifetime performance (your best games against the best players you've faced).

A quick note about Rival: your full match history won’t appear immediately after signing in. Rival has to retrieve and process your games in the background, so your records may look incomplete at first while everything backfills. Depending on your match history and current demand, this can take some time. You can leave the site and come back later, the data should continue filling in.

Dashboard for rival.rerolled.io

Both are free, no ads, sign-in is Bungie OAuth only. There's currently a 150-person cap accross both sites while I test the backend to make sure things don't get overloaded, partly because of the DB load Rival carries. So if you're interested, go check it out before that fills up.

Not affiliated with Bungie.

Discord for bugs/feedback: https://discord.gg/KuBct5sqR. Feel free to ask me anything in the comments too. It's pretty early in development so don't expect it to be perfect, but I'd really appreciate any bug reports or feedback through the Discord to help make the site better.

Tips on Trials Winstreak

Idk if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone have tips on getting to a 5 win streak in Trials? I’m fairly decent but I struggle to even get two wins in a row.

This game is everything to me, and I’ve been desperate to get the trials shaders since they came out, but I’ve yet to get one because I just can’t get those consecutive wins. Any help is so appreciated!

Serious question here - do you think this will get better or worse now that the game is basically done with updates?

Does anyone know if Bungie laid off their security staff?

Eriana's + empowering rift doesn't 1-tap anymore?

I could've sworn that Eriana's vow used to 1-tap to the head with empowering rift, but I've been using it and it's just barely not killing. Did they change it? Am I crazy? Do I need weapons stat for it? I don't have friends to test it with, so if it's not any trouble, I'd love a detailed response explaining past testing and/or ways to get around it.

Edit: Yeah I'm 90% sure it hits for 217 to the head while in an empowering rift. Even with 200 weapons, that only brings you to 227, which is just so unfortunate. Either way, I've been running it with messenger with headseeker+stopping power, which works as a great ranged swap-finisher. Highly recommend with ophidians for the handling. Or if you really want that 1-tap, you can use sanguine alchemy, but I don't have the aim to consistently be able to hit the heads hots every time I pop a rift.

SBMM is so aggressive I gain comp rank for losing

I haven't lost any rating in like a week, I am consistently put with people so far out of my current rank (right now I am in plat) that I literally only go up. How did it get this bad and who thought sbmm in a ranked mode was a good idea.

Can Mida Multitool still get insane strafe speed?

I haven’t used this gun in forever and I remember it having crazy strafe speed years ago, I think on Hunter combined with both Stompes? So much has changed since then. I don’t know if Athletic mods help and/or Stompees help. Does the Multitool event have that crazy lightweight bonus anymore? Does Lightweight even help with strafe speed along with move speed? No idea if that answer even applies to Mida. How much do I have to combine to get a that crazy movement?

It’s funny because I had a crazy thought. I’ve been problem solving a lot more since I’ve been playing Pokemon Champions recently. Jade Rabbit is everywhere. The easy way to fight it is just to use another Jade but I’m wondering if Mida can actually be a nuisance in a weird way. The gun flinches like crazy, easy to land shots and possibly has high movement. Plus, Jade lost Zen Moment so there is a chance you can out duel them if they aren’t really a Jade player. Flinching them plus throwing in 1 crouch during the gunfight might be enough to cause them to miss since they don’t have Zen anymore. Especially possible if you get the Explosive Payload perk up.

This idea could be a complete dud. In fact, it’s likely. This is our forever sandbox now so it’s up to us to try things. Maybe some wacky stuff lol.

The Keening with Accelerated Assault: Myth?

Since the update, I have been focusing farming The Keening in Crucible Ops, trying to and hoping to get a drop with Accelerated Assault origin trait, which I do feel like shifts the TTK slightly depending on the rolls/perks. However, I have never seen one or dropped one. I have AA Randy's, The Pulse, the Sniper - but have never seen a Keening. Have any of you dropped one or seen one? Does focusing the weapon remove the AA trait drop as a possibility?
