Many modern appliances struggle to stay cool when air temperatures rise above 32C, but not this relic. Its owners, a couple in their 80s, say it's a 'family heirloom' that they will 'hopefully pass down,' but for now they're 'quite happy to be its guardians for years to come’.

I Visited The Lost Boys Movie Comicbook Store!

Next stop on my Lost Boys (1987) pilgrimage in Santa Cruz on March 8th 2026: the legendary comic shop from the movie! Behind me is Atlantis Fantasyworld (1020 Cedar St, downtown Santa Cruz) —the spot featured as the Frog Brothers’ store. The original location got wrecked in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, so they moved here... but kept the vibes alive with real movie props! The cashier was so cool—he was an extra in the film and spilled the history. Owner Joe Ferrara (who also had a cameo/extra role-pinball scene!) saved props like the screen-used “Vampires Everywhere!” comic (looks real on screen, but blank pages inside ). Plus a Spider-Man web lasso on the hook-handmade hot glue magic! Seeing Peter Parker’s whip up close was wild. Shop was packed with Lost Boys merch: posters, magnets, comics... no T-shirts tho (sadly wish they had some!). To level up the day, Joe was performing a guitar set at Pono Hawaiian Grill nearby. Grabbed a booth, watched him rock out live-super surreal seeing someone tied to the movie perform! & Didn’t get to chat with him (he was mid-show, and I had to rush home before dark—the mountain drive is long & winding), but catching even a bit was epic. No regrets! Now I’m hyped to finally watch the full movie. Only seen clips + soundtrack online for years, but those vampires look too cool after this adventure. Time to dive in! Who’s visited Atlantis or caught Joe’s music at Pono? Tag your stories below!

Continuing from my Lost Boys adventure at Grandpa’s house (the old Pogonip Clubhouse in Santa Cruz)... While I was circling the exterior property— checking out every inch twice just to soak it all in — spotted something on the ground outside the fence: a loose shingle that must’ve fallen off the roof over the years. I couldn’t resist picking it up for a quick video! Holding this tiny piece of movie history right in my hand felt surreal—like a direct connection to the film. I filmed it, showed it off, then put it right back where I found it. Look, I’m not about to be that person who takes souvenirs or tries selling bits on eBay. If tans (including me) start chipping away piece by piece, this abandoned historical spot won’t last much longer. Future Lost Boys fans deserve the chance to visit, take pics, and feel that same excitement— no one should ruin it for them. That would be seriously messed up! Respect the location, leave no trace, and keep the legend alive. \* \* Who’s planning a pilgrimage to Santa Cruz spots?

Me Visiting Grandpa's House From The Lost Boys Horror Movie!

On March 8th, 2026 I finally visited one of the filming locations from the movie The Lost Boys (1987)!
A few years ago, I came across it online-never really watched the full movie, but I caught some preview clips and loved parts of the soundtrack. The vampire vibes looked so cool that I knew I had to check out a real spot from it in person.
I've visited the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk multiple times (the main boardwalk scenes), which totally counts as the first location. But yesterday, I made it to the next big one: Grandpa's house! (Exterior shots only—the old Pogonip Clubhouse up in the hills.)
The place is abandoned now, fenced off with no-trespassing signs, and it's showing years of wear: faded historical landmark sign from UV damage and some graffiti. Still, it was awesome walking around the perimeter, seeing every angle up close with my own eyes. I snapped selfies, recorded a quick video, and even checked out the nearby basketball court (someone's squatting there, so I stayed outside—no going in!).
Night was coming fast, so I didn't linger. The trek to get there was intense: parked the car, then hiked through forest trails, over bridges, and up super steep hills. My hair was soaked in sweat, and the long drive home through the mountains felt endless... but it was 100% worth it. No regrets!!
If you're into The Lost Boys or cool abandoned film spots, this one's legendary. Who's a fan? 🧛‍♂️ 🌙

Me With Dane Boe, The Creator Of Annoying Orange On August 2013 At VidCon!

I had a good time meeting with “DaneBoe” the creator of the Annoying Orange web series, in fact after I had gotten him, and some of his voice cast members to sign my memory, I went on to spend almost the rest of the day at the show, and after that, I finally went out to go have dinner at the restaurant, which I have forgotten what the name of that place was, anyways, when I was at the restaurant, sitting at a booth, minding my own business while waiting for my food to be prepared. When all of a sudden across another booth where I was sitting next to, you won’t believe this, it was the creator of the annoying orange again, and some of his buddies that were involved in the web series show as well and we talked a bit, which is quite an astonishing experience for me, wow!!
