Hi guys I recently purchased the 1hp chiller from titan with WiFi and UV and have a question someone can hopefully answer, I’d like to keep my chiller on so the water circulates 24/7 and set a schedule for the compressor to kick on at a certain time everyday for me to use. Although it seems on the tuya app if I set the temperature to 10 Celsius and have it on it runs to keep it at 10 Celsius through out the day. Is there a way for me to leave my chiller on circulating the water without it chilling the water until the preferred time?

I have a Frozin 400 and an As Cold Plunge 1/3hp Chiller. Currently only setting it to 50 degrees and running the chiller only at night. During the day, with the chiller off, the Frozin 400 has done a pretty good job holding temp even with the tub partially sitting in the sun for a few hours, I am only losing 7-12 degrees in a 14-hour period with the chiller off.

However, the chiller does not have a timer on it. I don't see it being an issue, but has anyone tried using outdoor timers for their chillers to kick on in the middle of the night? I want to see if i can turn it on even later and get it back down to temp.

I laid down concrete pavers as a base -then a piece of insulation foam to provide support for the bottom of the freezer. Build a frame around it then covered with cedar fence pickets. Built a lightweight lid out of fence pickets and 1x2s attached it with magnets so I wouldn't be drilling into the top.

Since it's exposed to the elements I put up sun shades and also installed solar powered fans over the freezer's exhaust areas. The solar fans have a battery and I also have a USB charger on a timer that kicks on at night and during the day when the sun is at the wrong angle for the solar panel.

Added an outdoor shower - it's not great but for $100 it does what it needs to do.

I just have an aquarium pump for filtration and add a little hydrogen peroxide occasionally - that's what the previous owner did and he said it worked great. I don't want to add ozone or UV because I've read it might degrade the rubber liner.

In the fall - after Texas heat - I might pull out the rubber liner and actually seal it with pond sealant, but for now I think it's working well.

I bought a Plunge XL with a Pro Chiller because Plunge is marketed as a premium, top-tier brand, and I was willing to pay accordingly. My experience has been the opposite of what that reputation promises.

Before purchasing, I told them exactly where the unit would be installed and described the conditions in detail. I was assured it would work there. It never has. The original chiller failed within a few months. The warranty replacement they sent arrived used and visibly damaged — I asked why I’d received a used part and never got an explanation. After that, I had persistent water-quality problems. They sent a maintenance kit, and it didn’t fix anything.

To rule out any environmental cause, I went far beyond what any buyer should have to: I insulated my garage attic, insulated the garage doors, and installed a dedicated split AC unit solely for the plunge. The unit still failed, and now it leaks. The problem clearly isn’t my setup — it’s the product.

A representative told me that if the final repair attempt didn’t resolve the issues, I could return the unit by phone. It didn’t work, I called to do exactly that, and Plunge refused the return. Their only stated reason for denying a refund is that the unit is now out of warranty — despite the fact that the failures began while it was still under warranty, including the dead original chiller and the used replacement they themselves sent.

Instead of the return I was promised, I was offered two things: 50% off a brand-new chiller, or “free parts” to repair this one — with a $750 repair bill attached. Both options require me to spend more money to fix a product that has been defective from the beginning. That isn’t standing behind a product; it’s charging the customer for the company’s own defect.

I'm tempted to try something similar to Coldture after trying it at a friend's place. The price doesn't seem worth it to me though. Is there a difference between Coldture and standing under an icy water shower?

A month ago I was convinced I wanted a chest freezer conversion. Now I'm convinced I want to build it with a cooler - the Frozin 400 used as example here.

Since the Frozin has threaded brass ports, I decided to use brass ball valves and adapters at the outlet and inlet. Thinking I might use flexible hose where possible and PVC pipes where necessary.

Does this make sense ? How much brass corrosion should I anticipate due to the Ozone ? I am still toying with the idea of using UV instead.

i have this coldture plunge that holds 250l and i am looking for a filter for it.
there is no chiller, however, i should note that the barrel has fittings to run a chiller if i were to get one(out of budget right now).
so are there filters that would be ideal for this setup? thanks

Just came across data suggesting core body temperature keeps rising for several minutes after leaving a hot sauna, meaning an immediate cold plunge may cut into the heat exposure window. Has anyone looked at this timing more carefully, or is the contrast effect strong enough that it doesn't matter?

The agreement includes major warranty limitations, a new “all sales final” language (even though at time of purchase they did not have such language), required maintenance products or your warranty is voided, and a $20,000-per-post social-media penalty if they consider it disparaging…

In no sane world should a customer have to file a lawsuit just to recover funds after a seller attempts to materially change the terms of an order after taking full payment, but here we are. (No credit card chargeback, they took funds via bank transfer)

Prospective buyers should get every promise, warranty term, service fee, and refund condition in writing before sending Colderatti any money. But based on my experience, even that may not protect you. They waited until the unit was in the final mile of delivery to present this contract. No matter how thoroughly you think you have confirmed the terms, they proved to me that they may change them at the last minute.

Before I go down the path of spending real money and building a plunge, I decided to try it. Bought a $40 cheap tub IcePod from Amazon, filled it with water which was 65º and with a bunch of frozen water bottles was able to get it down to 60º. I have a high cold tolerance so 60º doesn't feel that cold. 5 minutes in the tub and I got bored and got out. Did this first thing in the morning and the day is feeling fresh !
Will get some bags of ice and try to get it down to 50º for the next attempt.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year and have been doing contrast therapy (infrared sauna and cold plunge) ever since. Lately I’ve had fluid buildup around my lungs, which is making it hard to breathe. I have the fluid drained every week or so and I feel better for a bit but as for now the fluid returns. I’m currently on a trial immunotherapy drug that may help improve my situation.

Before this, I was plunging nearly every day and felt like it was helping me a lot, especially with my mood. I also recovered from neuropathy in my hands and feet fairly quickly, which I think was due to the frequent contrast therapy. My typical routine was 48 degrees for 5 minutes.

Does anyone have tips for getting back into it when motivation is this low?

Tl;Dr: the siding of my box plunge changed color, should I worry?

I have a therapod cold plunge that I've been using for about a year. I use ozone, UV filter, a box plunge filter, and hydrogen peroxide. I also shower with soap and exfoliate always always for plunging. I changed the box plunge filter once a month, and rinse out the UV filter.

I was very surprised that the water stayed completely clear for an entire year. I am doing my very first water change as we speak. No reason in particular, I just have never heard of any of you keeping your water for that long. So despite the lack of cloudiness or grime or anything else worrying, I just figure there might be unseen dangers in there.

When I drained it, I noticed that the siding is a lighter color below the prior water line. Is it something to worry about? Pics is after being scrubbed with vinegar..

I should note that the UV light is enclosed so it's not bare UV.

Do I need to JB Weld the Highlighted areas? Im going to use Pond Shield after I'm done with this step.

Do not (and I can’t stress this enough) buy from this company. It has been a miserable experience. While I do like the actual tub, apparently they source it elsewhere and I likely could have bought it elsewhere where without the markup. The chillers have been trash. The first one had a leak in it from day one, they did ship a replacement that showed up and lasted an 7 weeks before the fan on it stopped working.

They have done their best to grill me to see if they could get out of replacing it. But I change filters weekly and treat the water. Once they conceded it was not my fault they now have been dragging their feet on “finding the part needed in inventory”.

Obviously I should have done more research before buying from them, which is why I’m posting this. Hopefully it will pop up before the next person considers making the same mistake I did.

What’s the best thing to use as a reusable ice bag? The bags I got off Amazon rip extremely easily and I have to throw them out almost every plunge I take, creating a bunch of plastic waste. I was thinking maybe a laundry bag or a large drawstring backpack. Any other ideas?

Like the title says. Been looking over everything and feel it would be a little tight but still enough room to dunk for me (5'9" 195lbs). Trying to decide between that and the desert plunge tub. But its a roughly 500$ difference so theres that lol. Appreciate anyone chiming in who's done a 350 build!

I started doing contrast therapy a few weeks ago, almost daily, and I LOVE it. It is part of a restoration zone of a wellness club so a communal experience. The ice bath is set at 7-9 degrees. I started out at 2-3 minutes, but quickly found I can reach 7 minutes very easily. The first minute is always hardest. After that, 3 minutes or 7 minutes doesn't really feel any different. I stay submerged to my neck /chin area. I close my eyes, focus on my breathing and go within (or meditate I guess). I move my arms and legs slowly to keep the water moving so that I don't heat the water around me. I set a timer and force myself out at 7 minutes because ya girl has shit to do. But honestly, I could stay longer without much difficulty. I didn't think this was very long. I thought people were out here doing 15-20 minute ice baths. But a few other patrons (not staff) have said I am staying too long and that my timing is only for very experienced plungers, which I agree I am not. Most people I watch do between 1-3 minutes. A few athletic looking folks do 5 minutes. I am not trying to prove anything to anyone. If people ask me how long I stay in, I just say 'whatever feels right on the day'. I have found a lot of people that ask are competitive so its easier to keep my numbers to myself. I am a very quiet shy person. I sit on the side quietly for about 3 minutes to naturally rewarm, before getting into the 38 degree hot magnesium pool for 20 minutes. If cycling through multiple times I do reduce my times then, but I always make my first plunge and last hot pool the longest of each session. It feels great. The benefits are amazing. And I am happy. So, is 7 minutes really a problem for me? Or are the folk telling me this just feeling a type of way? Any other advice is also very welcome. Thank you!

I was gifted an Ice Up Industries (stand-up) tub/with chiller, and the chiller crapped out. Now I’m addicted. So I need to build my own thing.

What I know:

-I need an aquarium chiller (probably 1/3 HP or higher). It’s going to be in my garage in San Diego (warm temps)

-I need a pump with an inline filter

-I plan to just use chlorine/peroxide to keep it clean, so no UV stuff necessary

Questions:

What are some reputable aquarium chillers you all know of/ have used personally? Can’t seem to trust anything on Amazon/AI these days…

What’s a good, compatible pump/filtration system that has easy-to-come by replacement filters?

Expensive doesn’t always mean better; especially with cold plunges.

BoxPlunge recently helped a customer replace a cold plunge that cost around $13,000 (left hand side of image). It had Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, multiple pumps and jets, a salt generator, and plenty of other features.

The problem was that it kept giving him errors and becoming a headache to maintain.

He wasn’t looking for anything complicated, he said the simpler the better. He uses a cold plunge after his sauna sessions and simply wanted water that stays cold, stays clean, and is ready whenever he wants to use it, without constantly dealing with error codes, complicated systems, or a long list of chemicals.

He ended up replacing it with a much simpler chest-freezer cold plunge that cost roughly $3,500 (available for $1k or less if you are budget-limited).

Obviously, everyone values different features, but this was a good reminder that more technology and a higher price tag don’t necessarily create a better cold plunge experience.

Sometimes, simple and reliable is exactly what people are looking for.

Contrast therapy is great, but doing hot + cold at home seems hard unless you have a lot of space (and money). A lot of setups need a separate cold plunge, hot tub/sauna, external chiller, and regular water maintenance.

Recently got an idea: a compact at-home contrast plunge with hot + cold water in one unit, no external chiller, app-controlled temperature / timing, and UV water quality maintenance.
