Question Gravel removal recommendation

Post image
7 Upvotes

We recently moved into a new house in Coeur D’Alene Place that we love… except for the fact that both sides and most of the backyard perimeter are covered in gravel, which sits above a weed barrier (that doesn’t really prevent weeds in the first place). This is a photo of just one side of the house… the stuff is everywhere.

Can anyone recommend a service that would haul it away? We’d like to replace it with mulch for a variety of reasons. Thanks!

The voyeuristic perversion of 24/7 surveillance cameras

It's as clear as day. The people in power from local cities to the government have a voyeuristic fetish for watching you and your family 24/7. This isn't about stopping crime in, this is a deep sexual desire to watch you. From air bnb's to hotels, restaurant bathrooms, voyerurism is everywhere you and your family go. I just hope Cda can avoid these pressures as we've seen these companies try and make a push into our community and they will not stop trying to secure voyeuristic contracts that allow for mass surveillance.

Question Shuttle / Transportation Service?

Hello!

I will be in Post Falls/CDA with a group for a golf trip and we were hoping to use a transportation service for one day of the trip (basically to pick us up and bring us to Circling Raven in the AM, and then drive us back late that evening so it’d be a full day service).

Does anyone have any companies they’d recommend for something like this? It’s 16 guys but we’d be fine splitting into multiple vehicles if needed (but would prefer one large vehicle if possible).

Thank you!!

Edits: we will have golf gear and change of clothes so we’d want to keep personal items on the shuttle so public transport won’t work.

We also don’t want anyone to drive because it’s the final day of the trip so everyone will be drinking. So while we have rental cars im asking if anybody has a shuttle company they’ve used or would recommend so that we can avoid that route.

Thanks!

Gentle reminder if you or someone you know is facing a crisis, needs help finding mental health services, geriatric services, is suicidal or homicidal, is facing substance use issues and needs help, please call 988 and ask for the mobile crisis team to come assist you. They can do an assessment to figure out what the best next steps are, provide referrals and contact information for support services, and be an empathetic ear. Question Concrete flower bed edging…ballpark cost per linear foot?

I want to add some poured concrete edging to my flower gardens.

I have ZERO idea on even a ballpark cost for this, and I hate to have someone out to bid when I’m not ready yet, bc I have no clue on cost.

If this is your industry and you can give a ballpark cost of this service, I would appreciate it SO much.

There is no existing sprinkler system, utilities, or extraordinary complications, area is flat.

Question Best CPA or Accountant in town?

Who can you recommend for a CPA or accountant in Coeur d’Alene? My situation is a little more complex, I have a couple out-of-state rental properties, and I have some RSUs that vested last year. I want to get ahead of this a little bit since the October deadline is coming up for extensions. :)

Misc Sex offender "area"

I randomly searched for the sex offender list for CDA. Just browsing..but then something caught my attention...not 5, not 10 but over 20 separate "offenders" all live on the same street. This street only has like 5 small, run-down houses/apartments.

Its right on the PF line off of Seltice. I guess i know where NOT to go.

Captain for pontoon rental?

Hi! A group of girlfriends and I are going to be in Coeur d'Alene this weekend. We have a pontoon boat (a "funship", if that means anything) rented for Saturday on Coeur d'Alene lake and we're really hoping to find a captain to drive for us. We had a captain lined up through a company but we just found out he bailed and we were told there are very few captains available for hire around the area. Is that accurate? Does anyone know of anyone who might be available for us to hire to drive us around on the lake Saturday? Thanks in advance!

Question Anyone else tracking the Bunker Hill Mine restarting production last month? Worried about Lake CDA.

How is everyone else feeling about this? Do you trust the modern environmental containment and water treatment plans? Because Bunker Hill sits upstream, the natural flow of the water means the river would carry any new pollution straight down into Lake Coeur d'Alene, just like it did in the past. Do you think this active mining risks making the lake's pollution issues worse?

praise for Post Falls

I stayed there for a couple nights. Kids had a great time at your beach park next to the bridge. I had visited Sandpoint before and was anticipating the same retiree-heavy crowd, but was pleasantly surprised by the number of familes and young people. Seems like the town is seeing lots of growth which has its downsides, but is ultimately better than stagnation. People were super nice too.

Post image

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is recruiting firefighters, construction workers, and mine workers under the age of 55 to participate in a study about how heat impacts the body at our Spokane facility. The study takes 2 days, approximately 6-7 hours each day. Participants will exercise moderately and take a computer-based cognitive tests in a heated environmental chamber under the observation of a physician. All participants are compensated at $35/hour. Please message me if you would like further information.

Question Toddler birthday party places?

My 2 kids birthdays are in November, they’ll be 2 and 4, I’m thinking of celebrating on the same day because they’re so young still. They are both autistic, so I think somewhere like triple play will be too overstimulating to them both. We won’t have a lot of people coming, less than 15 so I don’t need a lot of space. I would prefer to have it at a park but the weather is unpredictable that time of year. Any ideas on places that are good for toddlers & adults that won’t be too much stimulation for the kiddos?
