Before I get into what I thought of The Odyssey, let me confess upfront that I am a HUGE fan of director Christopher Nolan, this generation's best director right up there with Denis Villeneuve. I loved, LOVED Nolan's films like Tenet (his best ever in my opinion), Inception, Dunkirk, and Memento.
Went to see The Odyssey today at Cincinnati's Cinemark Oakley's XD screen. The movie's running time is just shy of 3 hours. Long story short, I kinda liked it, but I certainly wasn't blown away by it as I was with earlier Nolan movies. Mind you: The Odyssey is currently rated 95% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Would love to hear from others that have seen it. Did you love it? Were you blown away? Or were you non-plussed like I was?
As a complete aside, I must mention that the viewing conditions at the Cinemark Oakley were far from ideal. It seems someone at Cinemark Oakley thought it was a good idea to turn the theater into a freezer room. I mean, c'mon! It was probably 65-66F in the theater
