Selected songs from keygenjukebox collection.
Amiga art from amiga.lychesis.net
What is it?
The 1980s and 1990s saw the rise of cracktro culture - short presentations launched before a pirated copy of a program or game. These served as a kind of digital calling card for hacker groups.
Over time, even a small keygen, simply intended to generate a serial number, became a miniature work of art.
Keygenjukebox was a website/archive that collected music from keygens, cracks, game trainers, and stage productions.
In 2012, an archived version known as "Keygenjukebox Complete Collection" was also released, credited to various artists and containing songs from this genre.

This is a short piece using basically just unfiltered pulse waves and some white noise tracks, but the main point of this is to be an educational short that shows off "NEJI", a unique way to tune your instruments to just intonation that produces nifty fluttery/pulsing effects while also somewhat closely approximating our typical equal temperament. The short piece is played once tuned to a NEJI, and again completely unchanged aside from being retuned to standard tuning.

I just recovered the original 1992 sequence data of my song **"Guts Comeback Futatabi" (****γ¬γγγ«γ γγγ―εγ³****)** by **MOUDOKU (****ηζ―****)**, straight from a dusty 5.12-inch floppy disk.
Long before the internet and Vocaloid, this "Manhattan Shape" monster was our weapon of choice to corrupt the Tokyo underground scene with raw, glitchy, proto-nerdcore cyberpunk madness.
No plugins. No modern emulators. Just pure, unadulterated 1992 cyberpunk DNA driven by the Motorola 68000 chip.
Welcome to the true Neo-Tokyo soundscape.
